Top 10 Places To Visit in Colombia

Top 10 Most Beautiful Places To Visit in Colombia - Colombia Travel Video

Travel Destination Colombia.

Colombia is located in South america.
Bagota is Colombia's largest and capital city.

Colombia's population is fifty million.
Colombia is 351 billion dollars economy.

Colombia has something that will please most travelers, from sandy beaches of the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, to the Andes Mountains and the Amazon rainforests. Its heritage reflects the culture of its indigenous peoples as well as the Spanish who began settling here in the early 15th century.

Places to visit in Colombia.

Cartagena.
It is the crown jewel of Colombia's Caribbean coast and one of the best-preserved colonial destinations in the Americas. Take a stroll through the historic walled city, and you may feel as if you've stepped back in time to a different era.

Medellin.
It tends to capture the hearts of visitors. The city boasts cable cars linking the settlements in its hills to a modern metro system in the valley below, a greenbelt of lush eco parks, and striking libraries and community centers in some of the poorest neighborhoods.

Bogota.
It's a city that often divides opinion, with some complaining of its gridlocked streets and dreary weather, and others falling head over heals for its unique combination of colonial charm and urban sophistication. Either way, this city of eight million tends to grow on people who give it enough time.

Tayrona national natural park.
A place where you will find the beach beaches and dramatic mountains of the country. Tayrona is also a fantastic place for snorkeling at protected areas near La Piscina beach and Cabo San Juan.

Eje cafetero.
This region, known as the Eje Cafetero (or Coffee Axis), is home to a growing number of coffee plantations that have opened up their operations to the public in recent years for tours, tastings, and lavish farm stays.

The lost city.
Colombia's most popular hike is undoubtedly the four-day, 44-kilometer trek to Ciudad Perdida, a lost city hidden deep in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains that was only rediscovered in the 1970s. Built and occupied by Tayrona Indians between the 8th and 14th centuries.

Carnaval de Barranquilla.
The festivities kick off with La Batalla de Flores, or the Battle of the Flowers, where parade floats are decorated with flowers in magnificent and colorful designs. Attendees often wear bright colors or costumes that represent a figure or a fable in Colombian heritage.the city is overrun with festivals, live music and street parades.

The Los Nevados National Park. It is perched at a high elevation and is centered around some of the country’s most incredible volcanic peaks. The snow-covered Nevado Del Ruiz and Nevado del Tolima, among others, serve as the park’s main attraction.

Cano cristales.
Whether it is known as Caño Cristales, the Liquid Rainbow or the River of Five Colors, this is one natural landmark that should be on every traveler’s itinerary.

Valley de cocora.
The symbol of Colombia is the wax palm, and the Valle de Cocora is the ultimate spot to see these trees in a stunning environment. The surreal landscape is a lush green, and as the fog lifts it is possible to see the tremendous height of the wax palms growing upright on the hills of the valley.

Colombia Trike Tour - Sincelejo to Tolú

I had a really fun, relaxed ride from Sincelejo to Tolú. The landscape was interesting and the road had gentle ups and downs. There were so many wonderful interactions with the lovely people along the way.

Originally, I had planned to ride from Sincelejo directly to Medellin but so many people had recommended visiting Montería I decided to make a detour. So, quite unexpectedly, I took off from Hwy 25 to make a detour on Hwy 90 back to the coast. Today's ride is to the very tranquillo beach town of Tolú.

Music: Cumbiaberita, Los Corraleros de Majagual and Se Acaberon, Emilio Oviedo y Farid Ortiz

This channel is about all things trikes and travel. I have been riding a trike for 14 years and have been touring for over 12 years, all over the world. I have toured on 6 continents, in over 20 countries and cycled more than 35,000 miles.

On this channel I talk about what gear works and doesn't work, offer tips and review products as well as have tutorials. Mostly, I produce short travelogue type videos of my tours as I go. I travel with a Panasonic ZS200 travel zoom point and shoot, video camera on a gimbal (Removu K1), Mavic Air drone, and, of course, a mobile phone. Thanks for subscribing and following along!

I also have an extensive journal on Blogger that goes into much more detail about the area and the emotional ups and down. The blog has a link to Garmin stats and a map of every day's ride. There are also a ton of pictures. You can find it following this link:

I Love you, Sincelejo Sucre ???? #travel #colombia #sincelejo

I love You, Sincelejo
Santander Park

Santander Park is one of the most emblematic places in Sincelejo and we recommend you visit it. In this part of the city you can tour the San Francisco de Asís Cathedral, one of the most charming and important historical buildings in the entire department of Sucre.

Likewise, this is one of the main points where the renowned festivals and fairs of Sincelejo are held, such as those on January 20, considered Cultural Heritage of the Nation.

So, if you are looking to spend a quiet afternoon getting to know the wide variety of businesses, handicrafts, colonial buildings and enjoying the delicious cuisine typical of this region, we invite you to include this park in your itinerary.

The historic square of Majagual

The Plaza de Majagual is another of the tourist places in Sincelejo that you cannot miss. In this space you will have an encounter with the traditional sounds of the Caribbean region, through the various cultural shows that take place in this area.

In addition, being one of the busiest points in the city, it is common to see everything from craft stalls to games for children. Without a doubt, this is a space dedicated to culture, entertainment and rest that you cannot miss.

The Iguana
The monument of La Iguana is located on Las Peñitas avenue, which has become the most visited by locals and foreigners. The iguana was born from the idea of an artist from Barranquilla, Elsa Marina Lozada “El Mar”, who built the modern work representing the iguanas that she saw in a park in Sincelejo during one of her visits to this city. Bathed in bright colors, the imposing sculpture is shown.

The Bonche Flower
La Flor de Bonche, famous for being the favorite of Sucreñas women to adorn their beauty, has its monument on Las Peñitas avenue, a recently created modern work of art known as 'Carmencita', some say in homage to the mother of a former mayor, others to the countless women who bear this name in the Savannah.

Tolu Sucre, Colombia - Drone

#Tolú #Sucre #Colombia
Hello Again. Welcome to see with me Tolú, a small town in Sucre Department, northern Colombia by the Caribbean sea.
The municipality has an area of 500 km². The name of Tolú comes from a tree called the Balsam of Tolú.
The fishing town has now become a popular weekend and holiday destination for Colombian tourists, particularly those from Medellín.
Activities in the area include day trips to visit the Archipelago de San Bernardo. This is a beautiful collection of pristine Caribbean islands, one of which, Isla Palma contains an impressive Ecological Park. Nearby land attractions include the Volcan de Lodo or Mud volcano of San Antero
Tolú is a word that comes from the name of the Indians that inhabited the place, called Tolúes.

Why You Need to Visit Colombia

We have loved our four months of travel and living in Colombia and we have a countless number of stories and magical moments to share. We came to Colombia in November and its beauty blew us away; it's an opportunity for entrepreneurs like us. Colombia has the most hospitable and friendly citizens we have ever met during our many years of travel.

Colombia has been at war with itself for 50 years with guerrillas and paramilitaries, impacting millions of Colombians by the loss of family, friends, and displacement from their homes. However, since 2006, there is a massive transformation and optimism for a more peaceful future here. Despite all this, it is in the past, and your view of Colombia should be of its incredible biodiversity, national parks, colonial towns, coastlines, music, art, festivals, dance (salsa!) and its transformation into a very liveable and friendly country.

So, in our typical fashion of summarizing our longer stretches of travel, like this one from 2015, we share with you some of our finest moments, events, experiences, and breathtaking views we have seen from Colombia.

Our Favorite Places in Colombia:

1. Medellín

We spent three wonderful months living in Medellín and Envigado- the city just on the outskirts of Medellín.
- The city of eternal spring truly has a temperate, comfortable climate with the best views of the surrounding Aburrá Valley.
- Surprisingly, you can hike up the valley to find some of the quietest and crystal clean rivers, rainforests and waterfalls.
- Medellín is perfect to watch their favorite pastime- Football, as they are some of the most passionate fans, you will ever see that alone is worth the price of admission.
- There isn't fruit as there is in Colombia, especially if most of your fruit is flown into North America or Europe. The markets are full of colorful displays of exotic Maracuya, Guanábana, Lulo, La uchuva, Granadillas, Maracuyá (Passion Fruit), Tomate de árbol (Tree tomato), and Pitahayas (Dragon fruit).

2) The Caribbean Coast – Cartagena

With its mix of African/Caribbean and Colombian vibe is as hot as the weather. The walled city of Cartagena is not to miss for a great wander and cool down with an icy glass of lemonade de coco.
Tayrona National Park – Is one of the most popular and prized possessions of Colombia. It is North Caribbean coast park, 12,000 hectares of land below the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains, and hugging the Caribbean coast across 3000 hectares.

3) Minca

– Is an eclectic town that has become a force for hiking, bird watching and relaxing, way up in the Sierra Nevada mountains overlooking Santa Marta.

4) The Ciudad Perdida

– The Lost City in Northern Colombia, a four-day hike to see the ruins of the ancient and extinct Teyruna people. This was one of our most favorite hikes, given the dramatic changes in scenery. More content to come on this incredible hike!

5) Colombia Pueblos

- Some of the coolest colonial towns (pueblos) we have ever seen and Colombia has ample numbers of these small, colonial, characterful spots to watch local life go by.
Notables include the Colorful, lakeside town of Guatapé, The White City in the south in Popayán, Santa Fe de Antioquia and Jardin to see the Cueva del Esplendor – the Cave of Splendor.

5) Zona Cafetera

– Also known as the coffee zone, includes the town of Salento. It is a touristy town to enjoy some of the best coffee and food from the southern region. Most guests come to see the Valle de Corcora – where wax palm trees grow upwards of 50ft high.

6) Bogotá

Took us by surprise, the big city of 10million is thriving with the best restaurants in the country, an active nightlife, the stunning old town of Candelariá, the gold museum, and not to miss the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá outside of town.

7) San Agustín

- The highest rated coffee comes from this place, and it is also home to the Unesco World Heritage site of tombs of ancient Pre-Colombian inhabitants over 2000 years old.

There is no shortage of places to see and things to do in this diverse country. Sit back, enjoy the video and admire the views!

Sincelejo Green Sabana Hyperlapse, Sunset - Drone

#Sincelejo #Sunset #Green #Landscape

1:00 Panorama
2:00 High speed backwards
2:17 Hyper Lapse
2:30 Sunset Time-lapse
Hello Again. Welcome to see with me this green landscape in the outskirts of Sincelejo, he capital city of Sucre, Colombia.
This sector is near a recreational center called “La piscina”, 1Km in the road from Sincelejo to Palmira.
From here, it’s possible watch the Caribbean Sea, just 30Km away.
Between “El Ocaso” and “La angostura” this natural lake is visible: Pure and natural, pristine.
Now we are approaching the shore, about 2-3 Km away from we took off.
This is now a panoramic view of the Sucre department coast: Golfo de Morrosquillo, Tolú and Cobeñas.
To the left is the outlet or river mouth of Sinu River.
While we quickly move backwards, we will get prepare to contemplate a hyper lapse and time-lapse.
I would love to be here at least once a week to see the magic of the sunset and the clouds slowly moving.

Monteria. The Pearl of the Sinú ????????

Monteria is often skipped by tourists. I went anyways and was pleasantly surprised.
