Drei Wasserstraßen, zwei Reisende, ein Hausboot: Stefan Pinnow und seine Kapitänin Christine Drühl schippern zunächst auf der Havel von Berlin über Werder nach Brandenburg. Weiter geht es nach Rathenow und durch den Naturpark Westhavelland. Bei Havelberg mündet der Fluss in die Elbe. Nach einem Zwischenstopp in Wittenberge biegt das Boot bei Dömitz - hier lockt die größte Binnendüne Europas - in die Müritz-Elde-Wasserstraße ein. Nächster Halt: die Schaumkuss-Manufaktur in Grabow. Dann nähert sich die Reise langsam ihrem angepeilten Ziel: Waren an der Müritz. Sieben Tage gleiten Stefan Pinnow und Christine Drühl gemächlich dahin. Sie durchqueren Seen, passieren Schleusen und genießen die morgendliche Ruhe an Bord. Am Flussufer entdecken sie Fischreiher und Seeadler, und immer wieder treffen sie Menschen mit spannenden Geschichten.

Three waterways, two travelers, a houseboat: Stefan Pinnow and his captain Christine Drühl sail first on the Havel from Berlin via Werder to Brandenburg. Continue to Rathenow and the Westhavelland Nature Park. At Havelberg, the river flows into the Elbe. After a stopover in Wittenberge, the boat bends near Dömitz - here the largest inland dune in Europe - lures into the Müritz-Elde waterway. Next stop: the Schaumkuss-Manufaktur in Grabow. Then the journey slowly approaches its intended destination: Waren an der Müritz. Stefan Pinnow and Christine Drühl glide leisurely for seven days. They cross lakes, pass through locks and enjoy the morning rest on board. On the riverbank, they discover herons and sea eagles, and time and again they meet people with exciting stories.

In 1675, the Battle of Fehrbellin was fought there, in which the troops of Brandenburg-Prussia defeated those of the occupying Swedish Empire. In 1758 during the Seven Years' War Prussian and Swedish forces clashed at the Battle of Fehrbellin (1758). One of the most important skydiving dropzones of Germany is located at the local airport. By area, Fehrbellin is the second-largest rural municipality (Gemeinde) in Germany, trailing only Nuthe-Urstromtal. The Hakenberg Victory Column is a 36 metre tall monument with an observation deck at Hakenberg near Fehrbellin in Brandenburg, Germany. It was designed by Christian Daniel Rauch and built between 1875 and 1879. It commemorates the victory of Frederick William, Elector of Brandenburg, over the troops of occupying Sweden in the Battle of Fehrbellin (1675).
I am starting this walk at the Town Hall (Rathaus), then follow an simple route to the Evangelic Church of Fehrbellin. I will then drive towards the Hakenberg Victory Column where I end my walk.

Schleusenspucker, Brillengäser und Lotte verrottet am Bahnhof - Rundgang Rathenow
Die Stadt Rathenow mit ihren knapp 25.000 Einwohnern hat eine lange Geschichte. In der Stadt gibt es einiges zu sehen. Neben Kirchenbauwerken lohnt ein Spaziergang an der Havel, wo man auf den Schleusenspucker trifft.
Zu DDR-Zeiten war Rathenow zeitweilig alleiniger Hersteller für Brillengläser. Der Bahnhof liegt an der Bahnstrecke (Wolfsburg) - Stendal - Rathenow - Berlin-Spandau. Geht man durch die Unterführung des 1870 eröffneten Bahnhofs, könnte man meinen, hier wäre ein Bahnhof mit 8 Gleisen. Tatsächlich verfügt der Bahnhof Rathenow aber nur über 3 Gleise. Es gibt heute nur noch eine weitere Bahnstrecke nach Brandenburg.
Sehenswert ist übrigens auch der Friedhof, auf dem sich ein weiterer Kirchenbau befindet.

Rendsburg is a town on the River Eider and the Kiel Canal in the central part of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is the capital of the Kreis (district) of Rendsburg-Eckernförde. As of 2006, it had a population of 28,476.
Rendsburg's foundation date is unknown though some form of fortifications was established by Bjørn Svendsen 1099–1100. Rendsburg was first mentioned in 1199. An old form of its name was Reinoldesburch.
It became a part of Holstein in the 13th century, but was transferred to Schleswig in 1460. Many times the town passed from Danish to German control and vice versa. In the German-Danish War in 1864 Rendsburg was finally seized by Kingdom of Prussia and Austria. After 1866 the town was annexed by the Kingdom of Prussia. Since that time it has remained part of Germany.
Although the Eider is navigable for small craft from its mouth on the North Sea to Rendsburg, the town's importance rose in 1895, when the Kiel Canal was finished. The much larger ships that could navigate the Kiel Canal meant that, although situated inland, Rendsburg became a seaport and a dockyard.
The most prominent structure in town, the Rendsburg High Bridge, a railway bridge made of steel, 2,500 metres (8,200 ft) in length and 41 metres (135 ft) in height, was constructed in 1913 to take the Neumünster–Flensburg railway over the Kiel Canal from the relatively flat land on either side. It is the longest railway bridge in Europe (highway/rail bridge Øresund Bridge is longer): on the northern side, the bridge connects to the Rendsburg Loop to gain height and to allow trains to continue to serve the Rendsburg station. Suspended from the railway bridge, a transporter bridge – one of only twenty ever built – traverses the canal.
The German Army's Air Defence School and the Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz are both located in Rendsburg.

In this video, I traveled to one of the northern German cities called Lübeck! Lübeck is a port city connected to the German North Sea! I took a train from Hanover to Lübeck, which took about three and a half hours! I started my walking tour from the train station, and then I passed through the bus terminal, a street and an intersection, and I reached a bridge that was over a river! Then I came to two lion statues in front of a big old salkhtman, which is the symbol of the city of Lübeck! I passed through the streets of the city, there were several churches on my way, I entered one of the churches and visited some paintings, stone coffins, candles, an old grand piano and some old photos of the church! Then I entered one of the main and very busy streets of the city and walked a little in a bazaar and visited the municipal building which had a very beautiful architecture and another twin church! Next, I went to a canal or harbor that was full of boats! I passed a bridge, there was a cafe bar by the port! I returned to the city center again! I saw some big old buildings with very interesting architecture, as well as some replicas of buildings that looked like castles on the way! Next, I crossed another bridge over the river, walked along the river, there was a small dock for boating, it was also full of cafes, bars and restaurants! In the end, I reached the beginning of the city and the same building that is the symbol of Lübeck! I already knew Lübeck because of Thomas Mann, the author of the novel Magic Mountain, whose hometown was in the north of Germany! It was a lovely sunny day and I enjoyed my walking tour of Lübeck, Germany!
