VISITING WEYMOUTH ENGLAND VLOG ◆ Touring Weymouth Harbour, Nothe Fort, Weymouth Beach & Brewers Quay

[Filmed October 13, 2020] PLEASE NOTE: The county of Dorset (where Weymouth is located) was in Tier 1 on the date that this video was filmed, and we traveled there from another Tier 1 location (Portsmouth, Hampshire). All hands-face-space guidelines were followed, and Derek and I strictly adhered to all local rules and regulations.

As the UK continues to ease out of its spring 2021 lockdown, I feel it’s a good time yet again to continue sharing our socially-distanced adventures throughout England and Scotland last autumn!

In this video, Derek and I drove from Portsmouth to Weymouth to explore the beautiful coastal town. We both worked that morning, so we were fairly sleepy throughout most of the day. With that said, please do be kind to us about some the funny dialogue in this vlog! It was fun to be able to tease ourselves a little bit about some of our lines! :-)

With that, come follow along as we explore the town of Weymouth, visit the beach, walk around Nothe Fort, grab a pint at two separate pubs along Weymouth Harbour, and dine at an Italian restaurant called Enzo.

I hope you enjoy tagging along with us in this vlog! Cheers, and happy travels!

Time Difference
During the winter months, Britain is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and 10 hours behind Sydney. Western standard time is five hours behind.

From late March until late October, the clocks go forward one hour to British Summer Time (BST).

To check the correct time, contact the Speaking Clock service by dialling 123.

Weight And Measurements

Britain is officially metric, in line with the rest of Europe. However, imperial measures are still in use, especially for road distances, which are measured in miles. Imperial pints and gallons are 20 per cent larger than US measures.

Imperial to Metric
1 inch = 2.5 centimetres
1 foot = 30 centimetres
1 mile = 1.6 kilometres
1 ounce = 28 grams
1 pound = 454 grams
1 pint = 0.6 litres
1 gallon = 4.6 litres

1 centimetre = 0.4 inch
1 metre = 3 feet 3 inches
1 kilometre = 0.6 mile
1 gram = 0.04 ounce
1 kilogram = 2.2 pounds

Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK

Please note: Following the recent referendum vote for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), there are currently no changes in the way people travel to Britain. The following guidelines still apply:

If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.

If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).

Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.

European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.

If you have any further visa questions visit the official UK government website.

What Makes Weymouth the UK's Best Beach of 2023 | Times Travel

This year for the first time in 15 years of the Times and Sunday Times Best UK Beaches, we asked you, our readers, to nominate the nation’s best. You rose to the challenge, with persuasive arguments for more than 300 locations.

In a 4,211-mile hop around the coast we visited every one of them, and our Beach of the Year for 2023 is Weymouth — winning by a nautical mile, not just for the staggering number of nominations it received, but for the hard work that the town has put in to remain the epitome of the British seaside resort. Perhaps the only question is why it’s taken the resort 15 years to achieve what so many of you see as the bleeding obvious.
