What U Don't Know About! The Longest River In Western Uganda River..
In the western region, River Rwizi has lost 60 per cent of its water catchment due to degradation by human encroachment and poor agricultural practices. Rwizi, the biggest river in Ankole sub-region, has a catchment of 8,700 square kilometres.
The river is formed by several wetlands downstream that converge or flow into one another to create the Rwizi that serves 14 districts of Greater Ankole area.
There has been debate about the source of River Rwizi with one theory saying it starts from Sheema district while another account traces the origin in the hills of the neighbouring Buhweju district. The river straddles the districts of Sheema, Bushenyi, Ntungamo, Rwampara, Mbarara, Isingiro, Kiruhura, Lyantonde, Rakai and Kyotera, among others before it moves down to pour its waters into Lake Victoria.

Lake Mburo National Park (Whispers of the wild)
Hello Awesome people,
Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda’s smallest national park
Lake Mburo National Park is located in Kiruhura District in the Western Region of Uganda, about 30 km (19 mi) east of Mbarara and about 240 km (150 mi) by road west of Kampala.
Lake Mburo was originally gazetted in 1933 as a controlled hunting area and upgraded to a game reserve in 1963. The region was settled by Banyankole Bahima pastoralists who traditionally herd Ankole cattle, and still do. The residents continued to graze their cattle in the reserve, a situation decried by western conservationists, who termed them invaders in 1981, but were expelled from their lands after it was upgraded to national park status in 1983, as hoped for by some in the West.
In this video, I did an early morning walking Safari there. Hope you love it.❤️

Implications of Sport Hunting on Wildlife Conservation in Uganda #uganda #wildlife
A CASE OF NYAKASHASHARA SUB COUNTY KIRUHURA DISTRICT, WESTERN UGANDA
The study examined the implications of sport hunting on wildlife conservation in Rurambira and Nyakahita Parishes, Nyakasharara Sub County, Kiruhura District. Specifically, the study was aimed at establishing the socio-economic contributions of sport hunting, determining the perception of local communities towards sport hunting activities, and assessing the effect of sport hunting on the conservation of wildlife populations. A cross-sectional design was used for the survey. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected through the use of questionnaires and face-to-face interviews, respectively. Content analysis was the main technique for qualitative data analysis, and quantitative data was analyzed using SPSS. The results show that there are improvements in local community livelihoods; some people were of the view that sport hunting had encouraged conservation, hence a relatively positive attitude towards sport hunting activities. The study also showed that animal populations increased over time because of sport hunting. The findings reveal that sport hunting is desirable since it helps the local community and leads to a decline in poaching (r = 0.271**; p = 0.000). The popularity of sport hunting has increased in support of wildlife conservation (r = 0.301*; p = 0.001). The study further revealed that sport hunting increased community income and revenues, resulting in improved livelihoods and improved infrastructure that has enhanced wildlife conservation. There is a need to increase awareness about the sport hunting program and strengthen law enforcement by recruiting village wildlife scouts to work with sport hunting companies to curb poaching.

Ndali Lodge In Fortportal Uganda🍀🍃🌲
With a capacity of up to 16 occupants, Ndali Lodge’s eight grass-thatched cottages are spacious and airy, with each facing west to offer a panoramic view of the Rwenzori Mountains.
The view from the dining area was stunning, looking over the lake. You can also do paddle-boarding on the lake. I would recommend this lodge to anyone who is travelling to Uganda. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the rooms are beautiful. Loved every moment!
