WHY IS TOURISM NEGLECTED IN VOLTA WHEN IT HAS SO MUCH POTENTIALS.-- Selorm Ameza
Volta region is a land where Arts and Tourism is imbedded in the culture of the people. We have been blessed by numerical us natural tourist destinations which if developed properly to meet international standards, would be the biggest Tourist income generator than any where else in the country.
Let's take a look at the massive tourist destinations which have been underdeveloped or ignored for reasons I can't figure out.
#MOUNT_AFADZATO in Volta is the highest mountain in Ghana and West Africa yet not even the township has been developed to meet an international standard to attract tourists since the moubtain also has a waterfall not far known as the Tagbor Falls.
The Afadja mountain or Afadjato deserves a well architectured canopy walkway to the top of the mountain if the government wants to keep it African. But then a more modern effort would be to build a SKYRIDE to the top of the mountain and even fix ZIPLINES just to make the whole experience to the top of the mountain and down an exciting experience. Modernization is important and just imagine a skyride and zipeline experience on the Afadjato mountain???
#WLI_WATERFALLS is the highest waterfall in Ghana and the tallest in West Africa. It has a lower and an upper fall. But then not a single urban development has happened at the waterfalls to make it highly attractive to Tourists.
A modern well designed wooden walkway to the waterfall and the development of a Community owned camp like resort for camping by the Waterfall for tourists to stay over or camp for a few days would make a lot of people visit the waterfall even at night. The pathway must have lights and this would entice people to build their own awesome resorts in the town nearest the Waterfall.

We drove from Ayeduase passed the Ayeduase Gate to Conti Roundabout, we branched right onto the Ahemfo Avenue to Knust main entrance to Tech Junction.
From Tech Junction on the Otumfo Osei Tutu Bullievard road, we passed susuanso and Oforikrom to Anloaga junction where we ended the drive tour.
