Unboxing NEW JERSEY: What It's Like Living in NEW JERSEY

x

Living at the Jersey Shore (Not like the MTV Show)

In episode 71, we show you what it's like to live at the beach at the Jersey Shore. We want to prove that New Jersey beach towns are not like the Jersey Shore tv show, at least not South Jersey, in our opinion. Of course, you can find the crazy nightlife down here, Atlantic City has its own fun, and beach towns like Sea Isle, Avalon, and North Wildwood are known for their fun bars. But you do not get the fist-pumping, GTL (gym tan laundry) lifestyle down here!

An open street on Newark Avenue (New Jersey)

For behind-the-scenes commentary →

The Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza in Jersey City, New Jersey is a popular open street. It's also known as Jersey City's restaurant row. In this video, we are going to talk about the story of how this block followed the idea of New York City's Times Square in creating a pedestrian-friendly area to reduce pedestrian accidents and create a community-centric environment for it's locale.

MAP OF NEW JERSEY

hello my friends. this is a map of beautiful New jersey. The state of New Jersey is bordered on the north and northeast by New York (parts of which are across the Hudson River, Upper New York Bay, the Kill Van Kull, Newark Bay, and the Arthur Kill); on the east by the Atlantic Ocean; on the southwest by Delaware across Delaware Bay; and on the west by Pennsylvania across the Delaware River. This is New Jersey's only straight border.

New Jersey is broadly divided into three geographic regions: North Jersey, Central Jersey, and South Jersey. Some New Jersey residents do not consider Central Jersey a region in its own right, but others believe it is a separate geographic and cultural area distinct from the North and South. excuse me. please comment if you love New Jersey. continuing.

Within those regions are five distinct areas divided by natural geography and population concentration. Northeastern New Jersey, often referred to as the Gateway Region, lies closest to Manhattan in New York City, and up to a million residents commute daily into the city for work, many via public transportation. Northwestern New Jersey, often referred to as the Skylands Region, is more wooded, rural, and mountainous. The chief tree of the northern forests is the oak. The Jersey Shore, along the Atlantic Coast in Central and South Jersey, has its own unique natural, residential, and cultural characteristics owing to its location by the ocean. The Delaware Valley includes the southwestern counties of the state, which reside within the Delaware Valley surrounding Philadelphia. The Pine Barrens region is in the southern interior of New Jersey; covered rather extensively by mixed pine and oak forest. The Pine Barrens has a lower population density than most of the rest of the state. Forests cover 45%, or approximately 2.1 million acres, of New Jersey's land area.

The federal Office of Management and Budget divides New Jersey's counties into seven metropolitan statistical areas with 16 counties included in either the New York City or Philadelphia metro areas. Four counties have independent metro areas, and Warren County is part of the Pennsylvania-based Lehigh Valley metro area. New Jersey is located at the center of the Northeast megalopolis, the nation's second most populated region.

High Point in Montague Township, Sussex County is the state's highest elevation at 1,803 feet above sea level. The state's highest prominence is Kitty Ann Mountain in Morris County, rising 892 feet . The Palisades are a line of steep cliffs on the west side of the Hudson River in Bergen and Hudson Counties. Major New Jersey rivers include the Hudson, Delaware, Raritan, Passaic, Hackensack, Rahway, Musconetcong, Mullica, Rancocas, Manasquan, Maurice, and Toms rivers. Due to New Jersey's peninsular geography, both sunrise and sunset are visible over water from different points on the Jersey Shore. thats all for now. thanks for listening. please subscribe for the best maps and for the love of New Jersey. goodbye. #mapschool #maps #mapas #newjersey

Twenty-one Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in the state, which also has operations for more than 1,100 multinational companies representing 40 nations.

Camden, New Jersey | What Happened?

Camden, NJ is INSANE! This is easily one of the worst and most dangerous cities in America. It truly looks like the aftermath of a war. Camden ranks one of the highest violent crime rates in the United States with 313% over the national average, and the poverty rate is around 33%. The population is sitting at around 70k and has been on the decline for decades. Rent and housing is cheaper here than most other cities in New Jersey, but would you take the trade off? Let's take a drive and check it out!

Warren County NJ

We had a great time in Warren County!! We loved Lakota Wolf preserve and learned so much!! We then stopped at our favorite Hot Dog place in NJ. We ended our day at Buttzville brewing.

Thomas Edison was an inventor who is the township's namesake.
Edison Township was settled by Europeans in the 17th century. The earliest residents of the area were the Raritan people of the Lenape Native Americans. In 1876, Thomas Edison set up his home and research laboratory in New Jersey at Menlo Park, (currently located in Edison State Park). While there he earned the nickname the Wizard of Menlo Park. Before his death at age 83 in 1931, the prolific inventor amassed a record 1,093 patents for creations including the phonograph, a stock ticker, the motion-picture camera, the incandescent light bulb, a mechanical vote counter, the alkaline storage battery including one for an electric car, and the first commercial electric light.

In 1954, the township's name was changed to honor inventor Thomas A. Edison.

The Menlo Park lab was significant in that was one of the first laboratories to pursue practical, commercial applications of research. It was in his Menlo Park laboratory that Thomas Edison came up with the phonograph and a commercially viable incandescent light bulb filament. Christie Street was the first street in the world to use electric lights for illumination. Edison subsequently left Menlo Park and moved his home and laboratory to West Orange in 1886.

Edison has been one of the fastest-growing municipalities in New Jersey. As of the 2000 United States Census, it was the fifth most-populated municipality in the state, after the cities of Newark, Jersey City, Paterson, and Elizabeth.

Edison is primarily a middle-class community with more than 75 ethnic communities represented. Edison has a large Jewish community next to Highland Park, with multiple synagogues located in Edison. Edison also has a growing Indian community and a number of temples serving the religious needs of the community. Reflecting the number of Edison's residents from India and China, the township has sister city arrangements with Shijiazhuang, China, and Baroda, India.

Edison was ranked the 28th most-livable small city in the United States by CNN Money Magazine, and second in New Jersey in 2006 in Money Magazine's Best Places To Live. In 2008, two years later, Money Magazine ranked the township 35th out of the top 100 places to live in the United States. In the 2006 survey of America's Safest Cities, the township was ranked 23rd, out of 371 cities included nationwide, in the 13th annual Morgan Quitno survey. In 2009, Edison was ranked as one of America's 10 Best Places to Grow Up by U.S. News & World Report. The rankings focused on low crime, strong schools, green spaces, and abundance of recreational activities. In 2014, parenting.com ranked Edison as the top safest city in America.

3 STATES IN 3 DAYS ✈️???????? New York City, New Jersey & Pennsylvania | Gaby Reyes Vlogs

HEY EVERYONE!

Welcome back to my channel and to a new travel adventure!

Well it's not entirely new since we're heading back to Upper Black Eddy but there's new adventures in store for this weekend!

Coming in for a belated birthday celebration for Lyra, I decided to also surprise my cousin with tickets to Phantom of the Opera ON BROADWAY! I know....BROADWAY! Like how special! She lives an hour outside of the city and this is her absolute favorite show of all time. Like she knows every song, lyric, line..she even had the sheet music and plays it on her piano.

Keeping in theme with the Fall weather, we visit a pumpkin patch and some other special places that you could never find in Miami lol! Needless to say, this was a lovely weekend with two of my favorite humans.

As always, thank you all so much for watching this video!
