USVI Travel Update - August 2021 (St Thomas St John and St Croix US Virgin Islands)
If you are traveling to the Virgin Islands in August this video will tell you all of the most recent rules, regulations, and travel restrictions. These will apply to all of the US Virgin Islands. There are new requirements for people coming from the British Virgin Islands. I just flew back to the Virgin Islands from Europe so I will also tell you what my experience was like flying in from Spain. I will tell you what the mask requirements are too.

Location and How to get there
The US Virgin Islands located 40 miles east of Puerto Rico and lie between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. They consist of 4 larger Islands St Thomas, St Croix, St John, and water island. There are about 50 other smaller islands. The capital city is Charlotte Amalie which is located on the most visited island St. Thomas. Around 1.2 million people visit this island annually. St. Thomas is the most popular port of call for cruise lines with two docks for them. Also There are a number of airlines that offer direct flights from the US mainland to St Thomas and St Croix.
St John does not have an airport, however, you can easily get there from St. Thomas by short ( around 20-25 minutes) ferry ride. Also if you rent a car on St Thomas you can take a car to St. John by riding a car ferry.
There is a Seaborne seaplane that gives travelers a fast and convenient way to connect between St. Croix and St. Thomas. The flights are only 25 minutes between these 2 islands.
When to visit.
The best time to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands is April to June when you can expect mild weather and very little rainfall. The hurricane season officially lasts from June to November. The Virgin Islands lie in the main pathway of many hurricanes originating in the Atlantic ocean, so they often get hit. The peak season in the Virgin Islands runs from December to April when hotel rates are the highest.
The temperatures vary between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit (21 and 32 °C), with an average of 78 °F (26 °C).
What to see
In addition to white sandy beaches and snorkeling, US Virgin Islands have a ton of other things to do.
There are many things you can do while visiting St. Thomas. You can walk and explore Charlotte Amaliya, take a historical walk at 99 steps and visit Blackbeard's castle. If you are visiting the island by cruise ship, right across from the Havensight cruise ship dock located Skyride to Paradise Point. You can take a short tram ride from the base station to 700 feet above sea level to see the spectacular views at Paradise Point. There are restaurants and shops at the top where you can relax, eat, shop, drink enjoy one of the best views in the Caribbean..
if you are traveling with kids, you should visit Coral World Ocean Park, a marine park and tourist attraction located next to Coki Beach on the East End of St. Thomas. The Park features Underwater Observatory Tower, which descends 20 feet in the ocean to allow underwater viewing. There are activities like touch pools, aquariums, watching animal feeding, and Sea Trek Helmet Dive which offers you to walk and breath underwater exploring marine life.
Park animals include sea turtles, stingrays, juvenile sharks, sea stars, conch, sea cucumbers, iguanas, sea lions and others. Many of the animals, such as the turtles, are rescued from the wild and released when possible.
The park focuses on visitor education and interaction with the animals, through touch encounters, feedings, swims, snuba, and Sea Trek.
US Virgin Islands are well known for their beaches and for a good reason. The beaches are incredible. There are a number of beaches that offer good snorkeling. You can easily spot sea turtles or stingrays by just snorkeling off the beach. According to National Geographic Magen’s Bay which is located on the northside of St. Thomas is one of the top 10 world’s best beaches in the world. This almost a mile-long beach offers amenities such as restrooms, showers, beach rentals such as chairs, kayaks, etc.
St. John is famous for its National Park and beautiful beaches. Virgin Islands National Park covers roughly 60% of the Island. Hills, valleys, and beaches are breathtaking.
If you are visiting St. Croix one of the must-do attractions is touring the rum distilleries. There are 2 world-class distilleries on the island Cruzan and Captain Morgan. For a small fee, you can take a guided tour of a rum distillery and learn the history of rum and how it’s produced, and best of all you get to enjoy tropical rum cocktails.
Conclusion
US Virgin Islands is a place that every US traveler should check out. It’s easy to access from the US, does not require a passport, and offers some of the best beaches you’ll find in the Caribbean.

Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel! In today’s episode I will share my top 10 things you need to know before you travel to the US Virgin Islands. So you are planning a trip to the beautiful Caribbean Island of St. Thomas? And you’re feeling overwhelmed with all the covid guidelines, figuring out where to stay and more importantly, what beach to go to? Then I have some good news, this video will help you figure all that out! After visiting the US Virgin Islands for the last 4 years I wanted to put all my knowledge into a designated safe travel guide for you guys! Jon and I have also traveled to St. Thomas 2 times during Covid-19, so I will give you info about that throughout the video too. To be clear, the US. Virgin Islands is open to travel, you just need to show a negative covid test before departure, no older than 5 days. With all that said, open up your notebook, and let’s jump into today’s video!

USVI is Open - New Travel Rules and Restrictions (St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix US Virgin Islands)
The Governor of the US Virgin Island is lifting restrictions and opening up the USVI. If you are planning a trip to St. Thomas, St. John, or St. Croix these new rules will apply to all US Virgin Islands. You still need to wear masks indoors but they are finally starting to lift restrictions. I'll share with you all of the new information that you need for you vacation to the Virgin Islands. If you are traveling to the US Virgin Islands this video goes over the most recent travel restrictions for the Virgin Islands. I will tell you what the mask requirements are if stores and restuarunts are open as well. The Govorner made a few changes to the policies last week. I did a video in April that goes into great detail and talks about all of the travel restrictions if you'd like to watch that one as well. But I think this video covers what you need to now for traveling to the USVI right now. At the end of the video I also tell you what is going on in the British Virgin Islands. USVI Travel Update (St Thomas, St John, St Croix) August 23, 2021
Here are the latest travel guidelines and restrictions for the US Virgin Islands. If you are planning a vacation to St Thomas, St. John, or St. Croix then these travel restrictions and guidelines will apply to all three of the US Virgin Islands. If you are traveling to the British Virgin Islands these will not apply. But I do go over new guidelines for coming to the USVI from the BVI's. I will tell you about mask requirements and what to expect at the airport as well.

3 DAYS in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands Travel Vlog | why you DO NOT need to rent a car!
This was our first time in the U.S. Virgin Islands! We originally planned this trip because it was a short flight from NYC, Andrew needed to renew his passport and coming here did not require one, and there was no COVID test needed! St. Thomas is a very popular cruise port destination as well, but we wanted to see it for more than just that. It has some of the most pristine beaches I've ever been to and diverse island wildlife. Food options were a bit limited to me, but we tried to venture out and try some of the local eats (Caribbean food). We did not rent a car and you'll see in the vlog that we still had a jam-packed itinerary. Stay tuned to see how our day trip in St. John went!

???? Our Airbnb (really affordable compared to most accommodations on St. Thomas):
☀️ Weather: Very warm. Be prepared for the occasional light rain throughout the day.
????Transportation: We did NOT rent a car and it was the best decision ever. It wasn't cheap to rent a car and the roads are not the easiest to drive through. It is an island after all! You have to drive on the left side and through narrow, winding roads. We took taxis around the island which cost around $6-10 per person ($10 was the max for around a 20-min ride). You can find them at most popular spots like major beaches or downtown. We never had a hard time.
