Location and Access
Victoria Falls is located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe in southern Africa. The falls can be accessed from either the Zambian side through Livingstone or the Zimbabwe side through Victoria Falls Town. Both towns have airports with regular flights from major African cities.
Brief History of Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls, known as Mosi-oa-Tunya or 'The Smoke that Thunders' in the local language, was named after Queen Victoria by explorer David Livingstone in 1855.
Where to Reside in Victoria Falls
When visiting Victoria Falls, you have plenty of options for accommodation. You can stay in nearby towns like Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe or Livingstone in Zambia. Both towns offer a variety of hotels, lodges, and guesthouses to suit all budgets.
Victoria Falls Hotel
Accommodation in Victoria Falls can be secured via booking with any hotel in Victoria Falls- i.e hotels within Victoria Falls. There are plenty of hotels including: Victoria Falls Hotel, Elephant Hills Hotel , Rainbow Towers Hotel and Budget Hotel. Just to name but a few. If you need accommodation on a tight budget, you can choose a lodge like Victoria Falls river lodge or an Air BnB. Here are some of our my top recommendations for activities in Victoria falls:
1. Victoria Falls : One of the most exciting things about Victoria Falls is the sheer size and majesty of the waterfall itself. Victoria Falls is one of the largest waterfalls in the world, with a width of 1.7 kilometers (1.1 miles) and a height of 108 meters (354 feet). The sight and sound of the water crashing down into the gorge below is truly awe-inspiring.
2. Sunset Cruise: Enjoy a relaxing cruise along the Zambezi River, witnessing the stunning African sunset and wildlife along the riverbanks. The upper part of the falls is a great spot for boat cruising. Sharerwater Victoria Falls kinda owns the whole boat cruising facilities - laughs. Their luxury boat starts at USD 65 per person.
4. Helicopter Ride: Take a thrilling helicopter ride for breathtaking aerial views of the falls.Helicopter ride- see all the falls, majestic Zambezi River and see the game park up Botswana. The ride depends on the amount you would have paid.Those arrows you’re seeing indicate the direction of your flight.
5.The Vic Falls bridge.
Now I’m about to cross the Vic Falls bridge, that’s where the Zimbabwe and Zambia boarder is. If you’re Zimbabwean, you can cross the boarder to Zambia using a temporary gate pass. No need for a passport. You just have to produce your original ID card
6.Bungee Jumping:
The bungee jumping experience in Victoria Falls is operated by a reputable company with experienced jump masters and safety measures in place. The jump is not for the faint of heart, but the adrenaline rush and the stunning views of the Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River below are unforgettable.
Overall, bungee jumping in Victoria Falls is an exciting and memorable experience for those seeking an adrenaline rush and a unique way to experience the natural beauty of the area.
7.Cultural Village: This is close to the Vic Falls boarder and it’s adjacent to the entrance of the Victoria Falls rainforest. The rainforest is where you will be viewing the falls from. Note: It’s always raining in the rainforest, please buy a raincoat at the culture village.

Victoria Falls is home to a diverse range of wildlife. You might spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species.

The Lookout Cafe, situated on the gorge that follows Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. This is by far our favorite café where your coffee comes with an epic view!! Definitely worth a visit after you've seen the Falls as its right there. This Zimbabwe Vlog was such a fun Vlog to edit and we cannot wait to see all of your reactions. The Lookout Café is on the Lower Zambezi and from it you can watch some of the activities Victoria Falls has to offer, such as the rafting, gorge-swing, zip-line, and canopy tour.

Victoria falls can be such an amazing destination, but once you've seen the falls there isn't much to do, right? WRONG!! We went on a self-drive safari in the Zambezi National Park and it was epic, we saw so much wildlife. Zimbabwe travel can be so rewarding when you know where to go, the Zambezi National Park is the area where the Zambezi River connects to Victoria Falls and it is quite raw and uncut.
