Shangla District (Pashto: شنګله ولسوالۍ, Urdu: ضِلع شانگلہ) is a district in Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The district headquarters are located at Alpuri. It was previously a subdivision of Swat District but was upgraded to the status of a district on July 10, 1995. The total area of the district is 1,586 square kilometers. Shangla comprises three subdivisions, Alpuri, Puran, and Besham tehsils.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (/ˌkaɪbər pəkˈtuːŋkwə/; Pashto: خیبر پښتونخوا; Urdu: خیبر پختونخوا), often abbreviated as KP or KPK and formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province, is one of the four provinces of Pakistan. It is located in the northwestern region of the country, along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border.
It was previously known as the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) until 2010 when the name was changed to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the 18th Amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan and is known colloquially by various other names. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the third-largest province of Pakistan in terms of both population and economy, though it is geographically the smallest of the four provinces.[5] Within Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shares a border with the Islamabad Capital Territory, Punjab, Balochistan, and the Pakistani-administered territories of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It is home to 17.9% of Pakistan's total population, with the majority of the province's inhabitants being ethnic Pashtuns and Hindko speakers.
The province is the site of the ancient kingdom of Gandhara, including the ruins of its capital Pushkalavati, located near modern-day Charsadda. Once a stronghold of Buddhism, the history of the region was characterized by frequent invasions by various empires due to its geographical proximity to the Khyber Pass.
Khwazakhela is a town and an administrative subdivision of Swat District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Khwazakhela town has 16 villages called the Azikhel. People of Azikhel are from a sect of the Yousafzai Dynasty. The famous Pakhtoon tribes living in Khwazakhela are Khadikhel, Umaikhel, and Barakhel.

Kalam (Kalami, Pashto, & Urdu: کالام) is a valley located at distance of 97 kilometres (62 mi) from Mingora in the northern upper reaches of Swat valley along the bank of Swat River in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.[2][3] The area has become a popular tourist attraction, known for its mountains, forests and lakes.[4] It is the birthplace of Swat river, which forms with confluence of two major tributaries of Gabral river and Ushu river.[5]
It is a sub-valley of Swat, at an elevation of about 2,000 m (6,600 ft) above sea level, and providing rooms for a small but fertile plateau above the river for farming.[6] From Kalam, the metaled road ends and shingle road leads to the Usho and Utror valleys. From Matiltan, some snow-capped mountains are visible including Mount Falaksar 5,918 meters (19,416 feet), and another unnamed peak 6,096 meters (20,000 feet) high.[7]
There are several hotels in Kalam providing accommodation for tourists to the valley.

Kalam which is also known is Kalam Valley is a sub valley of Swat located at an elevation of about 2,000 meters (6,600 feet) above sea level. Kalam is on a distance of 96km (59 miles) of distance from Mingora city which accessible through the route N95 upwards north. Kalam is one of the major tourist locations in Swat which has plenty of attractions and activities for tourists to get engage and enjoy their time.
A quick point to remember here is that in the high season in swat when tourism is on its peak in Swat, especially in the summer month of i.e. June, July, and August Kalam gets crowded and all hotels are completely booked.
When you visit Kalam soon you will find out that your day gets busy even you are in a calm haven. Your excitement of seeing natural wonders will take you too many places in Kalam. #UshuForest or Usho is an area of Usho Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Ushu Valley constitutes some of the most picturesque parts of Swat Valley.
In the Northern Kalam, there is a plateau 6 km wide where two rivers; Ushu and Utrot intersect (one from north east and one from the west). It is 10 km from Kalam and is 3200 metres above sea level.
The weather in winter is very cold; usually in spring for ushu tourism is the main source of income.
