Senegal is bordered by Mauritania in the north, Mali to the east, Guinea to the southeast, and Guinea Bissau to the southwest. Senegal nearly surrounds The Gambia, a country occupying a narrow sliver of land along the banks of the Gambia River, which separates Senegal's southern region of Casamance from the rest of the country. Senegal's economic and political capital is Dakar.

In this video, I will be taking you to Saint Louis Senegal and Lompoul Desert. Saint Louis Senegal, also known as Ndar, is a city in north-western Senegal, on the Senegalese Atlantic coast. Lompul Desert is a beautiful desert filled with lots of adventure and I got to experience the most beautiful sunset in Lompoul Desert. Saint Louis Senegal is the capital of North Senegal, located on the mouth of the Senegal River, and close to the border with Mauritania. The exotic city of Saint Louis Senegal is most famous for its wide, open beaches and its unique location on the desert fringe. Saint Louis Senegal. The nearby Lompoul Desert stretches for miles, and is the largest sand desert in all of West Africa. A visit to Lompoul Desert is a must for any visitor to Saint Louis Senegal, and exploring its many dunes and unique features is a great way to experience the unique culture of Senegal. I will be sharing my experience exploring these two beautiful places and hope that this will help you plan your perfect trip.

SENEGAL: The African resort island ???? of Ngor in DAKAR, awesome views!
Dakar, Senegal - the Island of Ngor in Dakar, Senegal. For a quick escape from the frenetic streets of Dakar, in Senegal, let's head to peaceful Île de N'Gor, the tiny island of Ngor just off Dakar's north shore. Ngor island has a few calm beaches on the bay side, and some legendary surf on the northern coastline. Most visitors just come to Ngor island for the day, to relax on the beaches, stroll the sandy lanes of the village and have lunch in one of the waterside eateries, but there are several appealing guesthouses here as well.
Ngor island is very peaceful and relaxed. The boat bringing you across the water is a 'pirogue' (traditional fishing boat). As soon as you step off the boat, you will feel the exotic atmosphere. Walking around the Island you can find small galleries offering art and music.
On the bay side you will find quiet white sandy beaches where you can swim, relax or eat lunch. At the local beachside restaurants they serve different fish, gambas, lobster all caught by the local Ngor fisherman. There are also two small grocery shops selling drinks, snacks and anything else you may need.

On the side facing the Atlantic Ocean, the coast is pounded by almost constant swell. The solid rock foundation is creating optimal conditions for surfing. A left and a right running at each their tide, picking up even the smallest Atlantic swell in the summer.

SENEGAL, WEST AFRICA - Today we are in a small village to meet Musa and his family for their Eid al-Adha celebration. They are preparing a whole goat that will be fried to go with rice, and stewed to go with Senegalese style couscous. It’s an honor to be here and I can’t wait to share all of the delicious food with you!
Welcome to a small village, not too far away from Joal Fadiout in central Senegal, West Africa. Musa and his family kindly invited us to their home for an amazing Eid al-Adha celebration. First we began with a unique breakfast porridge that was made from millet flour, kneaded into small pellets and sprinkled into hot water. The result was a delicious porridge that you eat with homemade sweet yogurt.
For lunch, the family prepared two Senegalese foods, a platter of rice with fried goat, and a platter of millet couscous with tomato goat stew. For both dishes many of the same ingredients were used - tons of onions and garlic, green onions, chilies, black pepper, tomatoes. Seasonings and ingredients were pounded into a paste and the fresh goat was marinated. The rice was cooked in the oil and broth of the goat. For the couscous it was quite a unique process, steaming, then mixing with baobab sap and baobab leaves, then steaming again. The result was an almost fluffy sandy texture. The couscous with the fresh goat meat tomato stew was a highlight. So good, and cooked with so much love!
It was an amazing day of village cooking Senegalese food in rural Senegal! The food and hospitality was unforgettable.

Senegal? Who goes to Senegal? We all should! I'm not a stranger to Africa but i haven't been too many places on the west coast. This was a first for me and as usual i jumped right in. From the beginning arriving in Dakar til the time i left everyone was pleasant & helpful. I stayed in an airbnb apartment in Dakar & went out to see the sights. This is part 1 of a short series.

Ile de Goree is the island ???? a short ferry ⛴ ride from Dakar, Senegal, where millions of would be slaves waited in unbearable conditions to be sent to the new world. Whilst the past is a shameful blight on humanity today its a beautiful island filled with a real sense of community.
