A tour of Emir's Palace in Ilorin | Pelu Awofeso On The Road
Earlier this month, I set out on a 10-day roadtrip with colleagues Efetobo Awhana (CEO, Nigeria Travel Week) and Hassan Zakari (President, Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN).
We set out to crisscross 8 states and visit at least 15 landmarks, attractions and #monuments, among them a UNESCO World #Heritage Site.
These nclude museums, nature parks, resorts, places of worship, #palaces, mountains and waterfalls.

Lokoja is a city in Nigeria. It lies at the confluence of the Niger and Benue rivers and is the capital of Kogi State
Lokoja is the capital city of Kogi State, in central Nigeria, and is a port on Niger River. Founded by William Balfour Baikie according to European historical records, although there have been indigenous people living in the area for thousands of years. Lokoja was the capital of British Northern Nigeria Protectorate and remained a convenient administrative town for the British colonial government after the amalgamation of Northern and Southern Nigeria Protectorates into one nation called Nigeria in 1914.
The first Governor-General Lord Frederick Lugard ruled the new nation of Nigeria from Lokoja. The city has since grown to an estimated 195,000 inhabitants.

Yankari National Park is a large wildlife park located in the south-central part of Bauchi State, in northeastern Nigeria. It covers an area of about 2,244 square kilometers (866 sq mi) and is home to several natural warm water springs, as well as a wide variety of flora and fauna. Its location in the heartland of the West African savanna makes it a unique way for tourists and holidaymakers to watch wildlife in its natural habitat.

Fort Jesus in Mombasa, built by the Portuguese in 1593-1596 to the designs of Giovanni Battista Cairati to protect the port of Mombasa, is one of the most outstanding and well preserved examples of 16th Portuguese military fortification and a landmark in the history of this type of construction. The Fort's layout and form reflected the Renaissance ideal that perfect proportions and geometric harmony are to be found in the human body. The property covers an area of 2.36 hectares and includes the fort's moat and immediate surroundings

Cape Coast, Volta and Accra | Ghana Travel Vlog Part 2
Welcome to Ghana Travel Vlog Part 2. In this episode, I take you through Kakum National park and its canopy walk followed by a tour of the Elmina castle as well as the Cape Coast Castle. I also visited the Aqua Safari Lodge at the banks of the Volta river with a beach on Ada. The last part focuses on Accra and I take you to some interesting spots like Du Bois Centre, Kwame Nkrumah memorial as well the Black Start Gate. I visited the Sky Bar and Labadi Beach in Accra for some fun and the Resense Spa @Kempinski to get a taste of luxury in Ghana.
