Guangdong Fort
Guangdong Fort is located in Dongshan Village, Yidu Town, Fuqing City. It was originally functioned as both residence and military defense. Built in 1736 by He's family, it sits against a slope in middle part of mountain. It is rectangle, 4180 square meters of floor area, 55 meters in width and 76 meters in length. Its walls stand 10 meters in height and 2 meters in thickness, lower part of which were built with stone. On the stone walls stand clay walls in which windows and shooting holes were designed. The holes were small inside and big outside, making easy watching and shooting . Connected corridors were built on top of the clay wall to give defenders easy moving. In front of the Fort, L-shape stone steps lead to its wood-slab gate. On the gate, holes were made to pour water for extinguishing fire that burnt the gate. The Fort contains three blocks of 2-floor house with a back yard and comprises 99 rooms where He's family and kins lived. Weathering almost 300 years, the Fort stood well and defended the attacks of bandits.

That’s why they say Juyong Pass is an impregnable fortification that can hold off an army.
From what I know, ever since the great Ming general Xu Da（徐达）built this pass,no army ever breached it.
When Li Zicheng（李自成） entered Beijing,he used united front methods to get through Juyong Pass into Beijing.
Juyong Pass is written about in historical documents ，when it was known as the “Jundu Pass” of the “Eight Passes of the Taihang Mountains.”
As for the name “Juyong Pass,” some say when Qin Shihuang was building the Great Wall,he had the workers and soldiers reside here,and thus the name “Juyong” in Chinese reflects that.
It seems to make sense,but back during the Warring States period,in “Mr. Lu’s Spring and Autumn Annals,”there is mention of “nine fortresses in the mountains,”with one named “Juyong.”
So the name “Juyong” was in use before Qin Shihuang’s time.
