村北城门上却写着南门:在北京张家湾找到人间烟火,可惜要拆迁了

很早以前就听说,北京通州的张湾老街,之前就是清真美食一条街,晚上慕名,驱房车而来,开车进城,遇到第一个限高杆,好些个热心大哥帮忙指挥,也没有过去,还看到待拆迁区的字样。换个路口进,又遇到第二个限高杆,一位热心大哥带着我们找到一个小路口,就进了老街,这大晚上的要是没有人带,还真找不到这个小路口。
吃过早点,漫步在老街上,像回到了80年代小县城的感觉。还有一座500多年历史的古清真寺,一棵老槐树静静地矗立在门前,似乎在呢喃着几百年的桑海沧田。听说以前著名的张家湾大集也在这条街上,现在换地方了,这条老街就显得有些冷清了。遇到的人都在谈论拆迁的事,听说是要跟环球影城一起打造通州旅游步行街之类的景区。你猜,未来几年,会不会又出现一个能火爆好几天的,现代古镇呢?
张家湾是京杭大运河北京段里的重要节点,在中国漕运史上拥有重要地位,号称“大运河第一码头”,“万舟骈集”的繁忙景象,还是通州八景之一。当年修建紫禁城的金砖、楠木等建筑材料,都是先经过张家湾才运进城里的,“先有张家湾,后有紫禁城”的说法就来源于此。
张家湾村北有一座通运桥,是京杭大运河上仅存的几座古桥之一,当地人都叫她萧太后桥。因为桥下这条河就是辽代的萧太后运粮河,河上的一座木板桥就是通运桥的前世真身。后来木桥当然承受不了京杭大运河上,越来越繁重的交通压力,于是在明万历十三年,也就是1605年,改建为石桥,皇帝赐名“通运”。
通运桥是一座是南北向,三券联拱式石桥,全长40米,宽10米。古桥望柱上的石狮子形态各异,完全能够媲美卢沟桥上的石狮子,可惜经过岁月的洗礼,没剩下几只完整的了。现在桥面上还留有深深的车辙印,见证了几百年来张家湾码头的热闹繁忙。桥下窝着四只叫不上来名字的巨大的镇水兽,不仅代表着古人对大自然的敬畏,也是运河水位的标尺。
明朝永乐年间,朝廷在张家湾设立粮仓,叫“通州卫通济仓”。到了明嘉靖年间,为了杜绝匪患,就在张家湾砌墙筑城、驻扎军队,就有了桥北面的张家湾城。经过时间和战乱的洗礼,现在古城只剩下了南面的一小段城墙遗迹了。所以我们现在看见的这段城墙和城门洞,并不是张家湾村的建筑,而是属于村北的张家湾古城遗址。
