Pozas Azules: AMAZING Natural Pools in Guerrero, Mexico! | Mexico Travel Vlog
The Pozas Azules, located about 45 minutes from Taxco, are a group of natural pools and waterfalls hidden in the mountainside. I spent a refreshing day here while visiting Taxco and loved the crystal clear waters (although they are QUITE chilly!) Getting there was super easy by collectivo/combi and cost next to nothing. Entrance for the day was 100 pesos, or around 5 dollars.
You can take day trips from Mexico City to Taxco, but I would really recommend spending 2-3 days there because it's such a beautiful city with so much to do! But if you only have a short time in CDMX, you could check out some of these tours by Get Your Guide:

Discovering Nayarit Mexico! (Ep 18)
Motorcycling through all of Mexico continues. Nayarit is breathtaking! I traveled in this episode from Tepic to the coast of Nayarit. I met kind people, one man named Santiago who ate some crackers with as he waited for a truck to pick him up, and a gentleman who taught me about avocados. I got to camp on what I believe to be an old abandoned beach, and had an amazing time falling asleep to the sound of the ocean.

THE SILVER CITY (Taxco, Mexico)
► SUBSCRIBE for daily travel videos:
► INSTAGRAM for more!
What a pleasant surprise!!! I took a 3 hour road trip from Mexico City a lovely small town called Taxco, which looks like a fairy tale!
There are so many things to enjoy about Taxco, but it's most famous for having the purest silver in all of Mexico.
Mining here began in the pre-Hispanic period with natives extracting a stones for ritual purposes. Then the Spanish came along and discovered silver in the early 16th Century, and they started commercial mining in the area and built an amazing church in 1758 which still stands today. Even though mining has stopped in the region, the town of Taxco has remarkably carried on its silver tradition. The streets are filled with hundreds of shops, markets and open air venues selling all kinds of fine silver jewelry and they still make every piece by hand.
If you come to Mexico, don't miss out on Taxco!

1. Nuevo Vallarta
These beautiful places have the most essential residential communities in Riviera Nayarit, and it is full of luxury resorts, water sports, and a prestigious golf course.
Perfect for practicing your swing and a wide variety of restaurants where you can taste the destination's gastronomy.
2. Bucerías
Bucerías meaning place of divers, is a small beach resort town in Nayarit on a stretch of Mexico's Pacific coast known as the Riviera Nayarit, on the Bay of Banderas, between La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Nuevo Vallarta.
3. La Cruz de Huanacaxtle
La Cruz de Huanacaxtle (The Cross of Huanacaxtle) is a Mexican fishing village situated on the Pacific Ocean's Bahía de Banderas in the state of Nayarit. It is situated approximately 25 km from Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. The town name comes from a cross made of Huanacaxtle wood, located at the town's entrance.
4. Litibu Beach
A few miles down the road from Sayulita towards Punta de Mita, find Litibu.
You can't miss it: there's a grand entrance with gates, sculptures, and fountains, and if you pass all that, you'll find Litibu's natural attraction: the excellent 18-hole golf course.
Not quite as posh as the courses at Punta de Mita, Litibu's is still a great one.
5. Punta de Mita
Punta Mita is a 1,500-acre (6.1 km2) private peninsula home to the Four Seasons Punta Mita, St. Regis Punta Mita, and 16 sub-communities.
Punta Mita is located on the north end of Banderas Bay in the Mexican state of Nayarit, about 10 miles (16 km) north of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.
There is evidence of prehistoric (pre-contact) human settlement in Nayarit.
On the Punta Mita peninsula, a hilltop archaeological site known as Careyeros Hill has been dated to c. 800 AD.
6. Marietas Islands & Hidden Beaches
We visit the 2 islands, and we also stop by the hidden beach and swim through an excellent volcano rock formation tunnel to enjoy one of the top 10 beaches in the world.
7. Sayulita
Sayulita has long been a favorite escape from the more bustling, frenetic Puerto Vallarta. Once a hippie hideaway for surfers, today's town has gentrified, evolved, and expanded into one of Mexico's most beloved beach getaways.

TAXCO is Mexico's best-kept secret
Greetings from Taxco, Mexico! In this cinematic travel guide, we get swept away by this charming Pueblo Magico.
Chapters:
00:00 Intro
02:00 Welcome to Taxco
03:55 The Zocalo
07:30 Taxco at Night
09:12 Food
12:36 Things to do
14:55 Final Thoughts
All roads seem to lead to the town's main plaza, known as the Zocalo. Sitting in the shadow of the beautifully detailed Church of Santa Prisca, the Zocalo is a wonderful place to eat, shop, and relax. Head back after dark for strolling mariachi musicians.
If food is what you're after, Taxco doesn't disappoint. Excellent meals can be found a Central Cafe, Armando's Taqueria, and Rosa Mexicano. Don't miss out on the local regional specialties such as Mole Rosa, Enchiladas Jamaica, and the Berta, Taxco's refreshing twist on the classic margarita.
There's plenty to do Taxco besides eat. Get immersed in Taxo's mining history by taking a mine tour. If views are what you're after, ride the Montetaxco cable car to the top of an adjacent hill for sweeping views of the city below. Or head catch ride in a vintage VW beetle to the Cristo Monumental Taxco for even more breathtaking views and to marvel at the base of the 60ft tall statue of Christ.
Taxco takes your breath away and not just because of its impossibly steep streets. It's a proud, sophisticated place that the locals lovingly maintain. It's clean, safe, and it's a place that you'll want to return to again and again.
