Fortune Dragon 转运祥龙 | Batu Pahat 峇株吧辖 | Yong Peng 永平 | Johor Travel Vlog
#batupahat #yongpeng #永平 #fortunedragon #转运祥龙 #johormalaysia
During our little road trip around Johor, we decided to make a pit stop at Batu Pahat and visit Fortune Dragon (转运祥龙). It is only about 10 minutes drive away from Yong Peng Toll Plaza & Bus station and if you have time, you may like to drop by for a visit.
Have heard about this statue since its completion few years ago.
Said to be one of the longest and largest dragon tunnel in the world, we took a walk within that stretches about 106 meters long.
Do enter from the Dragon's mouth and exit from its tail as it is believed to ward off evils.
Within the dragon's body behold many Chinese paintings depicting Chinese folktales, Buddha teachings and tales of afterlife.
There is also a section on the Ten Chambers of Hell, which looks similar to Har Par Villa's version. Generally, it is to teach moral values, filial piety, ethics and to be kind and law abiding.
Apart from the Fortune Dragon, it is also surrounded by green garden and a koi pond. There are many statues of deities at different corners of the garden. The area is pretty scenic to walk around and take photos.

Durians - The kampong durians in Yong Peng
The kampong durian is cheap yet delicious. One Sunday we were craving for durians,, so we took to the road in search of more adventures. We drove to Yong Peng in Johor, a small town that is famous for its local produce and home-made products. After searching along the road sides, and checking out different durian stalls, we found an elderly lady selling kampong durians from her own garden. It was a wonderful Sunday, lovely drive along country roads, and of course eating some durians to satisfy our cravings.
