City in China
Chengdu is the capital of southwestern China's Sichuan province. Chengdu's history dates back to at least the 4th century B.C., when it served as capital for the Shu Kingdom. Artifacts from that dynasty are the focus of the Jinsha Site Museum. The city is also home to the famous Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a conservation center where visitors can view endangered giant pandas in a natural habitat. ― Google
Amazing Things to Do in Xi'an & Top Xi'an Attractions
Discover with us the most amazing things to do in Xi'an & Top Xi'an Attractions. Ancient Xi'an was for almost 2,000 years the capital of 13 different imperial dynasties of ancient China. The first emperor unified China from his base in this area, thanks to which is also called the cradle of the Chinese civilization. It was this place, where there was the beginning of the ancient Silk Road and where the influence of the West and the East were mixed.
Among the attractions not to be missed is the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. Each of the thousands of statues, of soldiers and horses, often in slightly larger-than-life size, is unique and all were meant to serve in the afterlife of China's first emperor. The collection dates to the 3rd century BC. The area is considered one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world and one of the greatest discoveries of the 20th century.
The old city is surrounded by massive city walls, built in the 14th century. They are approximately 14 kilometers long. It is one of the oldest, largest, and best-preserved Chinese city fortifications in general. This place is great not only for history lovers but also for sports fans. You can walk along the walls, take part in the city marathon, which is organized in spring, and even go cycling.
In the old centre is the Bell Tower, the symbol of the city. Built-in 1384 AD, it is 36 meters high and is the largest and best preserved of its kind from the time of ancient China. Like the Chinese clock tower, in ancient times it was used for reporting the time and publishing news. It is open to the public and its beauty can be admired both during the day and the night. Another symbol of the city, the Drum Tower, built in the 14th century, is a short walk away. It is 34 meters high and is also open to the public. Unlike the Bell Tower, where the bell was struck at dawn, the drums of the Drum Tower were struck at sunset to signal the end of the day.
About 4 kilometers from the city centre, you can admire one of the most famous Buddhist pagodas in China, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It was built in the 7th century and later became a part of a large complex known as the Temple of Kindness and Grace. The complex once had 13 separate courtyards and contained 1,879 grand-looking rooms. Although the massive complex has not withstood the weather, wars, and earthquakes of old, the pagoda still stands on the site.
Near the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, in the North Square, you can discover the largest music fountain in Asia. It covers an area of approximately 110,000 square meters. The fountain and music show has many benches, the longest light strip, and the largest acoustic complex in the world. The most amazing thing is how the sound, light, water, and colors of the fountain blend harmoniously. This stunning show can be enjoyed especially in warm months several times a day, but it is the most beautiful at night. Don't forget to arrive 20 minutes early to find a good place to watch.

Slideshow of my photos in Yichang
On 24 August 2019, I went to Yichang in China.
Baiguoshu Waterfall, also known as the Three Gorges Waterfall, is known to be one of the ten famous waterfalls in China. Yichang is famous for its Three Gorges. According to the information of the tourist area, it is famous for the natural waterfall group and the scenery of the canyon jungle. Under the arrangement of friends, our party, with the romance and warmth of lover's spring, came to the valley mouth of this magical canyon which integrates scenery, folk culture, water entertainment, travel exploration and other leisure functions, to experience the flavor and delicacies of Hubei taste, and fell asleep in the night.
In the morning with anticipation and excitement, I walked along the valley of the Three Gorges Waterfall. It's really well-known. The Grand Canyon has a long and secluded depth of field. The mountains on both sides of the canyon are like Dai, or towering clouds or lush. When you climb up, you can even compare with each other's wings to see who is tall. The streams along the valley, or the deep pools and springs, or the small bridges and flowing water, or waterfalls are connected, especially the characteristic buildings of the scenic spot -- those small bridges, or long suspension bridges, or curved arch bridges, or zigzag back to the Lantian bridge. It is like a pavilion which gives people a fresh and unique feeling.
The mountain follows the road brick, the water goes around the valley. As I walk in this ancient forest path, I can see the left side and on it is the rushing stream. The stream is clear and sweet, clear and bottomless. It's not fast or slow. On both sides of the stream are continuous mountains, with dense forests and abundant grass, flowers and butterflies dancing, birds singing, flowers and trees scattered all over the stream. It is said that groups of monkeys can be seen playing in the mountains through the deep jungle.
Not to mention the beautiful scenery, the beautiful scenery along the river also makes people to have a beautiful feeling. Hukou waterfall, a waterfall, Pearl Waterfall, Ya waterfall, chain waterfall and other waterfalls of different shapes come one after another. The sound of the water is murmuring. Some of them are broad and slow. Some of them are gurgling and loud. Some of them are narrow and fast, pouring down the beautiful cliff. Some of them are linked with each other and the waterfalls are connected which forms a series of waterfalls. It is said that when it is sunny in the afternoon, the rainbow in the waterfall is even more resplendent and pleasant.
On 28 August 2019, I visited the Three Gorges dam. In the morning, I took the tour luxury bus to the Three Gorges Dam to enter the Three Gorges special highway. After about 30 minutes, we arrived at the destination. There we rented an off-road vehicle. Under the guide's guidance, we first came to the 185 observation platform. The guide said: The Three Gorges dam is the largest water conservancy project in the world, with a total length of 2309 meters and a height of 185 meters, which is where we stand. Then we went to the reservoir area. The closure garden and the dam park is where we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and had a rich open-air lunch. Although we had a good time, we still had a little regret. Because of the high density of fog, we can only see that the dam head did not mount the Tanziling observation platform. So therefore, we cannot witness the magnificent panorama of the Three Gorges dam.
I still believe it was a great experience for me to travel to Yichang in China for the first time.

Visit Yichang, China: The ho-hum Ramada Hotel
Compared to all the modern, gorgeous hotels stayed in to this point, the Ramada was a big disappointment. As much as I try not to, travel can't help but be a comparison -- particularly when a person stays in one hotel after another. Personnel is good. However, the hotel itself (including breakfast) is nothing special.
