Yeniseisk. Yenisei expedition cruise
Yeniseisk is the former center of the region, the “golden” capital of Russia, the meeting place of the trade routes of the West and the East. Local residents carefully preserve the city, as well as the legends about its former greatness, they are passed on from generation to generation. The city has 400 years of history: merchant houses, monasteries, narrow streets and the spirit of an ancient city that has preserved its appearance to this day. The central part of the city is included in the preliminary list of UNESCO world heritage.

Sunset over Yenisei River, Siberia, Russia
Yenisei River (Yenisey, Енисей) is considered the 7th largest river on our planet and the 2nd in Russia. The river is almost 5,500 kilometres (3,420 miles) long. Its watershed, which includes Lake Baikal, holds more water than any other river system. Yenisei's tributaries include famous Angara, Nizhnyaya Tunguska, and Tuba rivers.[
Yenisei (Yenisey, Енисей) rises in the mountains of Russia near the Mongolian border and flows generally northward through Siberia into the Kara Sea, Arctic Ocean. The river is often considered the boundary between Western and Eastern Siberia.
The Yenisei and its tributaries are rich in fish, including salmon and sturgeon. As the river flows north towards the sea it travels through taiga forests which change into a tundra.
The Mighty Yenisei River: A Lifeline of Siberia
The Yenisei is one of the greatest rivers on Earth and the most watery river in Russia. The length of the Yenisei is 3,487 km. From the Sayan Mountains to the Arctic Ocean, the Yenisei passes through all the climatic zones of Siberia. Camels live in its upper reaches and polar bears live in its lower reaches. Camels live in the upper reaches of the Yenisei and polar bears live in the lower reaches.

The place of the Tunguska meteorite fall
The Tunguska event was a massive ~12 megaton explosion that occurred near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River in Yeniseysk Governorate, Russia, on the morning of June 30, 1908. The explosion over the sparsely populated Eastern Siberian Taiga flattened an estimated 80 million trees over an area of 2,150 km2 of forest, and eyewitness reports suggest that at least three people may have died in the event. The explosion is generally attributed to a meteor air burst: the atmospheric explosion of a stony meteoroid about 50–60 metres (160–200 feet) in size. The meteoroid approached from the east-southeast, and likely with a relatively high speed of about 27 km/s. It is classified as an impact event, even though no impact crater has been found; the object is thought to have disintegrated at an altitude of 5 to 10 kilometres (3 to 6 miles) rather than to have hit the surface of the Earth.[9]
The Tunguska event is the largest impact event on Earth in recorded history, though much larger impacts have occurred in prehistoric times. An explosion of this magnitude would be capable of destroying a large metropolitan area. It has been mentioned numerous times in popular culture, and has also inspired real-world discussion of asteroid impact avoidance.

Here I present a series of photographs of the town of White in Tver Province close to the regional border with Smolensk.
Fortress White has been known since the XIII century .
In 1355 White was occupied by Lithuania and later was incorporated into the Province of Moscow. Following a 4 month siege in 1610, White was taken by the Polish-Lithuanian troops and became a bargaining chip in the trades between the Russian and the Polish-Lithuanian rulers. At the beginning of the Smolensk War 1632 - 1634, White city was occupied by Russian troops and has remained in Russia to this day.....

The Land of the Future. Part 2.
Director and cameraman Andrey Russkikh (Russia).
We make movies about real Russia. We are looking for investors, buyers in the movies, TV channels.

The famous Arctic explorer Fridtjof Nansen used to dream about the creation of the Land of the Future, in the centre of Siberia. The major city in this area should have been Yeniseysk.
The central theme of the film The Land of the Future is the life of a community of Old Believers at the watershed of two great rivers of Siberia, the Ob River and the Yenisey River, where the Ket-Kas Canal was constructed a hundred years ago. Has Nansen's dream come true? This is what the film shows us.

Part Two
Here I present the first of two albums of original photographs taken of the town of Kostroma.
This historic town forms part of the Golden Ring of Russian towns, and is located at the confluence of the Volga and Kostroma Rivers.
The city was first recorded in the chronicles for the year 1213, but historians believe it could have been founded by Yury Dolgoruky more than half a century earlier, in 1152. Like other towns of the Eastern Rus, Kostroma was sacked by the Mongols in 1238.
The heroic peasant Ivan Susanin became a symbol of the city's resistance to foreign invaders; several monuments to him may be seen in Kostroma. The future Tsar, Mikhail Romanov, also lived at the monastery. It was here that an embassy from Moscow offered him the Russian crown in 1612. As a result, the Romanov Tsars regarded Kostroma as their special protectorate…………….
