People warned me not to visit China…🇨🇳 (FIRST TIME IN XI’AN)
We are back in China with another 144-HR visa free transit.
This time, we travel to Xi'An, China for Chinese New Year!!!
Xi'An is the oldest city in China. So we were hoping to join the festive Spring Festival celebrations.
But many people on our comment sections are warning us not to visit China during the Chinese New Year because travelling in China is a nightmare during this holiday season. And many cities will become like a ghost town. But we really want to see what China is like during the new year. So we flew to Xi'An to find out.
Travelling to China was not what we expected. China surprised us!
Is China dangerous? Is China safe? What's China really like? Check out our vlog!

Hello friends, I’m from Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a very beautiful island country in south Asia located in the Indian Ocean.
I got the opportunity to study in China for a period of one year. Chinese Government offered this free training considering the long term friend ship between China and Sri Lanka.
Chinese people are very kind and helpful. I was given all the facilities and they made my life very comfortable during my stay
During this one year period I could travel very important and very famous cities in China such as Xi’an, Luoyang, Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhuo, Shanghai and Beijing.
So friends, through the series of videos in my channel, I want to share my travelling experience and how I felt this wonderful country and people.
China, or “Zhonghua” is the largest of all Asian countries and has the largest population of any country in the world. Occupying nearly the entire East Asian landmass, it covers approximately one-fourteenth of the land area of Earth. Among the major countries of the world, China is surpassed in area by only Russia and Canada, and it is almost as large as the whole of Europe.
Beijing is the capital of the China and the cultural, economic, and communications centre of the country. Shanghai is the main industrial city and Xi’an is one of the historical city in China.
Within China’s boundaries exists a highly diverse and complex country. Its topography encompasses the highest and one of the lowest places on Earth and its relief varies from nearly impenetrable mountainous terrain to vast coastal lowlands. Its climate ranges from extremely dry, desert like conditions in the northwest to tropical monsoon in the southeast, and China has the greatest contrast in temperature between its northern and southern borders of any country in the world.
Probably the single most identifiable characteristic of China to the people of the rest of the world is the size of its population. Some one-fifth of humanity is of Chinese nationality. The great majority of the population is Chinese (Han), and thus China is often characterized as an ethnically homogeneous country, but few countries have as wide a variety of indigenous peoples as does China. Even among the Han there are cultural and linguistic differences between regions; for example, the only point of linguistic commonality between two individuals from different parts of China may be the written Chinese language. Because China’s population is so enormous, the population density of the country is also often thought to be uniformly high, but vast areas of China are either uninhabited or sparsely populated.
With more than 4,000 years of recorded history, China is one of the few existing countries that also flourished economically and culturally in the earliest stages of world civilization. Much of China’s cultural development has been accomplished with relatively little outside influence, the introduction of Buddhism from India constituting a major exception.
During my stay, I was so lucky to visit some of the very famous and attractive location in China such as the Great Wall, Terra Cotta Army, Longman Grottos, Furong Garden, Pagoda squire, Xi’an City wall, White horse temple and Shaolin Temple etc. Also I got my first winter experience during my stay in China.
So friends, join with me to share my travelling experience and how I felt this wonderful country, its culture, people and food etc.
Please subscribe my channel and share these videos among your friends who love China and love for travelling around the world.
I would like to give my special gratitude for the Government of China for giving me this free training and all the required facilities for successfully completion of the training. Also facilitating to travel around the China for totally free of charge.
Thank you China…. “Xie Xie Zhonghua”

Yatai Xinyang Fashion and Gift Market
What happened to Xiang Yang market? After that famous fake market closed its gates in 2006, many vendors relocated to Yatai Xinyang. This is a great place to buy inexpensive souvenirs: Shanghai t-shirts, chopsticks, toys, jewelry, cushion covers, and pashminas. Let the buyer beware: when it comes to fakes, you get what you pay for (and you probably paid too much)..

Xinyang Knock Off Market, Shanghai, China
What would a trip be to Shanghai (or China) without shopping for knock-offs? The Xinyang Fashion Mall is tucked away under the Shanghai Science and Technical Museum in Pudong and filled with souvenirs and goods. Easy to reach by Metro (watch the video on how to use the metro.)
Clothes, pearls, handbags, watches, tailors, a food court.... It just goes on and on. If you are looking for something special just ask. A salesperson will escort you up and down the aisles to a stall owned by a brother, uncle or father and they'll begin hauling goods out of secret compartments. Whether or not you buy (and you WILL buy), it's fun and the salespeople are good natured. Don't miss Xinyang!

《地球上的10001种人生》
(原《“三傻”的38天环中国自驾之旅》):
一位是曾出两本科普书,现满脑子装着人文社科类问号的北京女作者;
一位是早就因工作原因,跑遍祖国大江南北好几圈的神级山东司机;
一位是坚信一路不会被噶腰子,接到一通电话,飞机直奔北京的仗义湖南大哥;

A special program of Self-Driving Trips to the Future documentary series Chatting Everywhere.
The 38-day Self-driving Trip around China of the Three Idiots:
One of them is the oddball Beijing female author of two science popularization books, but a queen of latecomers with loads of questions about humanities and social sciences in her head;
One is a Shandong master driver who easily flopped on the first day of the journey and took on this money-losing job;
One is a loyal dude, who took the plane straight to Beijing as soon as he received the phone call, convinced that he wouldn't be kidnaped and have his kidney removed;
In a variety of unreliable situations, the three idiots hit the road of a wonderful journey with no hesitation and plan(with three days to make plans ≈ no plan).
Along the way, there was talking, laughing, cursing (not fighting), food, scenery, but also a lot of fuss and danger~.
Finally, they successfully drove across 30 provinces of China, a total trip of about 18,700 kilometers, in a total of 38 days from August 27 to October 3, 2023. They had talked in depth with nearly a hundred people of all walks of life, taking valuable snapshots of this era for the future to remember...
When they came back, they all had changed...
