Roker and Seaburn beaches have been favourite family spots for hundreds of years. The golden sands are a sandcastle builders paradise and with lifeguards on duty they're great for paddling. The wide open promenade and landscaped seafront make for a perfect stroll in the sea air too. If you really want to take in the air though, a stroll along the restored Roker Pier is perfect.

This tranquil royal park, sandwiched between bustling Piccadilly and the grandeur of Buckingham Palace, offers a welcome respite from the city's energetic pace. It's a place where London's residents and visitors come to relax, reflect, and relish the greenery.
Covering 47 acres of land, Green Park may be the smallest of London's eight royal parks, but it's a vibrant jewel in the city's crown. It's devoid of the lakes and playgrounds you'll find in other London parks. Instead, its charm lies in its simplicity: wide open spaces, mature trees, and meandering paths – a quintessential English landscape that's idyllic in its simplicity.
As soon as you step into the park, you'll be captivated by the lush canopy of towering trees, including elegant London Planes, sturdy English Oaks, and exotic Horse Chestnuts. The park boasts over 250 species of wildflowers and is a haven for wildlife, providing a habitat for various bird species, including robins, blackbirds, and the quintessential London pigeon.
Green Park isn't just a natural retreat; it's steeped in history, too. Once a burial ground for lepers from the nearby St James's Hospital, it became a royal park in the 17th century.
