Port Fairy is a coastal town in south-western Victoria, Australia. It lies on the Princes Highway in the Shire of Moyne, 28 kilometres west of Warrnambool and 290 kilometres west of Melbourne, at the point where the Moyne River enters the Southern Ocean.
The Gunditjmara aboriginals lived in the Port Fairy area prior to European arrival.
In the early 19th century whalers and seal hunters used the coast in this region. The bay was named by the crew of the whaler The Fairy in 1828.
John Griffiths established a whaling station in 1835 and a store was opened in 1839. In 1843, James Atkinson, a Sydney solicitor, purchased land in the town by special survey. He drained the swamps, subdivided and leased the land, and built a harbour on the Moyne River. He named the town Belfast after his hometown in Ireland.
In the 1840s, significant conflict between pastoral squatters and aboriginals occurred. In 1842, 27 squatters from the Port Fairy neighbourhood signed a letter to Superintendent Charles Latrobe reporting many 'outrages' committed by the 'natives' and requesting the government provide security. These clashes formed part of the battle over land use and resources between traditional owners and Europeans across the Victoria's western district.
The post office opened on 1 July 1843 (the post office actually opened in 1837 as Port Fairy but was renamed Belfast on 1 January 1854 before reverting to the original name on 20 July 1887.)
Agriculture developed in the region, and Belfast became an important transport hub.
By 1857 the town had a population of 2,190. In the mid-to-late 19th century, Belfast was one of Australia's largest ports, catering to the whaling industry. In 1887 the town was renamed Port Fairy as a result of an Act of Parliament.
A railway was extended to the town in 1890, but closed in 1977. It has been converted into the Port Fairy to Warrnambool Rail Trail.

JB 1236 Up The Westmere Bank To Kai Iwi At Whanganui Vintage Weekend 2018
#WestmereBank #MainLineSteam #WhanganuiVintageWeekend Locomotive JB 1236 powers up one of New Zealand's steepest railway gradients; the Westmere Bank on the Marton - New Plymouth line.
The locomotive performed three trips to Kai Iwi over Whanganui Vintage Weekend. The clips in this video are from Sunday the 21st January 2018.
Kai Iwi is the location of a handy crossing loop in a valley about 20 minutes up the line from Whanganui.. This video opens with scenes from the train ascending the gradient near the bottom of the bank and then near the top. Soon the train steams past the Kai Iwi deviation.
At Kai Iwi loop, the loco runs around its train and heads back to Whanganui tender-first under the State Highway 3 overbridge and up the western side of the Westmere Bank. Át the foot of the Eastern side is the old 1926 Kempthorne Prosser & Co Fertilizer Works. The Whanganui River is crossed on Bridge 25 (MNPL).
The video then picks up the train again with the arrival at the Whanganui Freight Centre where this excursion terminates.. Whanganui is at the end of a 5km branch and the loco has had to have swapped ends over at East Town Yard. The next shots are of the loco being prepared to leave Whanganui and finally head back to its home depot in Plimmerton on the Main Trunk Line near Wellington.
Piper Ross Duncan farewells the train with a tune. The train steams up the Matarawa valley in the closing shot with about 80 passengers.
Whanganui Vintage Weekend has been running in various forms since March 2001. It celebrates Whanganui's heritage by holding street partys and themed festivals. Heritage operator Mainline Steam first sent a train to participate in the festivities in 2013. The train was marketed as the Whanganui Flyer for the 2018 event.
The Westmere Bank is one of New Zealands steepest railway gradients. It averages at about 1/35 (2.86%) but has sections as steep as 1/33.
1236 was built by North British Locomotive Works in 1939. Itwas given the makers number 24559 and delivered to New Zealand in March 1940. More info through this link;

New York State Route 7 (NY 7) is a 180.30-mile-long (290.16 km) state highway in New York in the United States. The highway runs from Pennsylvania Route 29 (PA 29) at the Pennsylvania state line south of Binghamton to Vermont Route 9 (VT 9) the Vermont state line east of Hoosick. Most of the road runs along the Susquehanna Valley, closely paralleling Interstate 88 (I-88) throughout that road's length. Portions of the highway route near the cities of Binghamton, Schenectady, and Troy date back to the early 19th century.

Lark Street is a historic street in Albany, New York, USA. It is part of the Arbor Hill, Sheridan Hollow, Center Square, Park South, and Hudson/Park neighborhoods, and is located one block east of Washington Park. Lark Street is the site of many independently owned shops, coffee houses, restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, marketing agencies, bars, and tattoo shops. Although the part between Madison Avenue and Washington Avenue was rebuilt in 2002-2003 to place new roadways, trees, and sidewalks in front of the new shops in the active portion of Lark Street, some local residents have protested against the neglect of the northern end of the street (crossing north of Washington Avenue), which runs down into the less-affluent Arbor Hill neighborhood. Lark Street and Jay Street was used as a location during the filming of Ironweed. The Washington Avenue Armory is located at the corner of Lark Street and Washington Avenue.

2021-10-24: Super-Late-Night (Early-Morning) Drive through Plainfield and Joliet at 2:30 AM
In this trip, we will explore what it is like to drive through the Joliet-Plainfield area on a major artery at 2:30 AM. Spoiler alert: there were very few people on the road, so we are mostly on our own for this trip. This also means the trip was very hassle-free. That means all you need to do is relax and take in the nighttime scenery and quietness of the area during this early-morning trip!

The Whole Foods Market generates $24.6 million in annual revenue. The mall is located near the busiest intersection in the capital region.

Crossgates Mall is an enclosed, automobile-oriented, super-regional shopping mall located in the Albany, New York suburb of Guilderland. It is the largest indoor shopping center in the Capital District and the third-largest in the State of New York.
Crossgates Mall is built is within the Albany Pine Bush, one of the largest of the world's 20 inland pine barrens. It was formed thousands of years ago, following the drainage of Lake Albany. When Europeans arrived in the early 17th century, the Pine Bush was in use as hunting grounds and firewood supply of the Mohawk Nation of the Haudenosaunee to the west along the Mohawk River, and the Mahican to the east, along the Hudson River.
