Rassa Falls is located on the Wattegama Panwila road about 850 meters from Wattegama on the Panwila road.
To reach this waterfall, you have to travel 850 meters on the Panwila road from Maha Kandy via Wattegama.
Going up through the stairs to the right of this waterfall, you can see a black pool and it turns out to be a very protected forest area.

The Hanthana Mountain Range lies in central Sri Lanka, south-west of the city of Kandy. It was declared as an environmental protection area in February 2010 under the National Environment Act. The range is a favourite destination among the mountain hikers in Sri Lanka. University of Peradeniya is situated adjacent to the Hanthana mountain range.

අපි ගිය මේ තැන ඉඳන් HUNNAS WATER FALL එකට තියෙන්නේ කිලෝමීටර් 10ක දුරක්. මහනුවර නගරයට කිලෝමීටර් 30ක දුරක්. පොල්ගොල්ල ඩෑම් එකට යනවනම් එතන ඉඳන් යන්න යන්නේ විනාඩි 30ක කාලයක්. නකල්ස්වලට යනවනම් හරියටම පැයක්. රිවස්ටර්න් යන්න ගතවෙන්නෙත් පැයක කාලයක්. පින්නවල අලි බලන්න යන්න හිතුණොත් පැයකුත් විනාඩි 15ක වෙලාවක් යනවා... ම්.. ම්.. මෙතන ඉඳන් මාතලේ අළු විහාරයට තියෙන්නේ කිලෝමීටර් 25ක දුරක්... එතකොට තව... VICTORIA GOLF CLUB එකට ඔයාගෙම වාහනයෙන් යනවනම් ඒ ගතවෙන්නෙත් පැයක කාලයක්...
This is about another wonderful place in this small country where you and I live. We can call this wonderful destination in the direction of Matale “Sembuwatta”. Its beauty is indescribable. That's why you have to walk there and experience that beauty with your own eyes.
Sembuwatta, also known as Matale Little England, is full of cold winds and fog.
Located about 35 km from Kandy city in the Matale district, there are two main roads to reach this wonderful place. From Kandy to Wattegama via Elkaduwa town to Sembuwatta and from Matale town to Elkaduwa via Ukuwela to reach this place.
This lake is located in the area where the Elkaduwa Tea Factory is located
The HUNNAS WATER FALL is about 10 km from where we went. 30 km from Kandy city. If you go to Polgolla Dam, it takes about 30 minutes. Exactly an hour to get to Knuckles. It takes about an hour to go to Riverstern. If you want to go to see the elephants in Pinnawala, it takes about an hour and 15 minutes.
Sembuwatta Lake is a tourist attraction situated at Elkaduwa in the Matale District of Sri Lanka, adjacent to the Campbell's Lane Forest Reserve. Sembuwatta Lake is a man-made lake created from natural spring water. Alongside the lake is a natural swimming pool. Sembuwatta Lake is believed to be 9 m to 12 m deep.
Sambuwatta Lake is a beautiful man-made reservoir located in Elkaduwa, Matale. The lake is bordered by Cambell’s Land forest reserve and situated at an elevation of 1,140 m. The misty and chilly atmosphere with pine trees and tea-covered slopes surrounding the lake make visitors feel relaxed and tranquil.
What puts the lake in the top as a leisure and family travel destination is the plethora of adventure activities available such as zip-lining, swan/motor boat riding, canoeing and hiking. Bathing and swimming in the lake, however, is not allowed since the lake is fairly deep (30 – 40 ft), there is a separate pool built for that purpose.

The road leading to the lake (Sembuwatte Lake Road) off Wattegama – Elkaduwa – Matale road (B461) is not in a favourable condition, especially the stretch that lies beyond the factory. This narrow and winding road stretches about 04 km from the main road to the lake. About 03 km in, there is a dilapidated tea factory (Elakduwa Tea Factory) and a small office, where you should stop to buy tickets.
Long vehicles like 54 seat Leyland buses/Coaches should be parked here. Small vehicles can safely be driven beyond this point up to the lake and park at the lake premises. Owing to the narrowness of the road, it can be heavily congested during holidays.Tuk-Tuk drivers at the turning points try to dissuade people from getting their vehicles on to the lake road so that they can earn their buck.
