A Fun 2023 Maine and New Hampshire Travel Guide to help you plan your trip to the New England Coast! From Portland to Portsmouth to Hampton beach to everywhere in between!
In this video I share 7 of the BEST Things to do in ME & NH including attractions, lighthouses, beaches, downtown Portsmouth, food trucks, shopping squares, history and claim to fame names, a Navy submarine tour, and even more! Plus fun facts about all the things do to in Southern Maine and things to do in New Hampshire: a northeast destination, a top Tourist Attraction, and some of the Best Places to Visit!
MAINE: From coastal cities to small towns to the deep woods, longer days and comfortable temperatures give you more time to explore.
NEW HAMPSHIRE: Home to more than 100 waterfalls, New Hampshire has it all—hiking, biking, swimming, fishing and skiing. South New Hampshire and the Atlantic Coast have majestic beaches, including the well-known Hampton Beach. For great mountain biking and skiing visit the White Mountains and Northern New Hampshire. There's even ski resorts and biking and hiking trails, as well as many opportunities to go fishing and boating at one of the lakes!
This video was filmed in September 2019 but edited with 2022 information. September was still warm but swimming at Hampton Beach was a bit chilly. It was warmer to be out of the water than in the water!! So a winter vacation would be pretty here if you love snow, but summer vacations/road trips are great too!I'd recommend visiting the southern coast of Maine and New Hampshire Coast, with my #1 pick being seeing the lighthouses!
You can't not like seeing the spectacular East Coast Light Houses!

The Maine Beaches
Maine beaches come in many sizes and shapes. White sand ocean beaches cover much of the southern Maine coast and dot the rest of the 5,500 miles of Maine coastline. By day, beaches are teeming with people building sandcastles, body surfing, searching for seashells and just soaking in the sun. In the evening, the low rumble of the surf crashing upon the shore offers a soothing backdrop for a romantic stroll.
However, saltwater beaches only present half of the beachgoing opportunities in Maine. With 6,000 lakes and ponds, fresh water beaches abound. Maine's municipalities and state parks boast a variety of beaches where families can refresh themselves in crystal clear lakes surrounded by lush green forests. Many of the state parks provide additional amenities such as grills, picnic tables, playgrounds, restrooms, snack bars, campsites and nature trails, making them the perfect place to spend one or more days.
