Komarno Slovakia Nitriansky Kray
#KOMÁRNO (population 36,800) lies on the confluence of the Váh and Dunaj. It is one of the oldest towns in Slovakia. The medieval town lived its greatest prosperity in the 15th century when the rulers and court of Kingdom of Hungary frequently stayed in Komárno.
KOMÁRNO (population 36,800) is widely known as a town with rich cultural and social life. Every two years in April International Competition of Singers of F. Lehár, as well as the Lehár Festival staging musicals are held in the town. The water sports area and boathouse is next to the dead arm of the Váh. The visitors to the town are attracted by its thermal swimming pool. It exploits two hot springs with water temperature of 37 degrees of Celsius.
#HISTORY
The castle of Komárno became the main supporting point of the defensive system constructed against the Turks, after they occupied Buda and Esztergom in the years 1541-1543. The fort of Komárno is the largest bastion fortification in Central Europe. It originated in the years 1546-1557 by reconstruction of the 13th century castle.
Komárno obtained the privileges of free royal borough from Empress Maria Theresa in 1745.The production of ships has developed in Komárno and the produce of this town is respected now by experts all over the world. Komárno is the seat of the greatest producer of river boats in central Europe and its port is one of the biggest as well.
#MONUMENTS
You can start sightseeing in Komárno at the centre near the former Zichy Palace, which is one of the dominant features of the Námestie gen. J. Klapku square. The palace was restored in 1989 and one part serves as the Museum of Danubeland. Another secular monument situated in the square is the Neo-Renaissance town hall.
The Courtyard of Europe is the name of a unique project of the architects grouped in the studio Europa in Komárno. It is in fact the intention, now implemented, to build historic architecture typical for the individual regions of Europe in a styled form on a new square of Komárno. The common elements of the Courtyard of Europe and the historic core are the historic gates, each of which bears the name of one Hungarian ruler.

Koniec roka 2022 sme strávili v meste Komárno na Slovenskej strane Dunaja, ale posledný deň v roku sme zavítali navštíviť druhú stranu Dunaja, kde je mesto Komárom už na Maďarskej strane. Most ponad rieku Dunaj je štátna hranica medzi Slovenskom a Maďarskom. V Komárne majú tiež svoju vojnovú pevnosť, avšak tu je veľmi zaujímavé historické centrum mesta a hlavne námestie Európy, kde nájdete postavené domy inšpirované typickou architektúrou pre každý štát v Európe. V Komárom je vojenských pevností viac a aj keď boli zatvorené okolie je veľmi zaujímavé pre ich monumentálnosť a pekné prostredie na prechádzku. Uži si video pre lepšiu predstavu.

Hájska skala nad obcou Ráztočno, 640 m n. m.
Niekedy dokážu očariť aj nenápadné a menšie túry. Dôkazom toho je aj Hájska skala, ktorá sa vypína nad Ráztočnom v pohorí Žiar. Táto 20 metrov vysoká vápencová skala je obľúbená najmä u technických lezcov, no rozhodne má čo ponúknuť aj výletníkom a milovníkom prírody.
Hájska skala je zaujímavá povrchovými krasovými útvarmi, tzv. škrapmi, no azda najviac lákavé sú výhľady z jej vrcholových častí. Pokochať sa môžete výhľadmi na celú Handlovskú dolinu, pohorie Vtáčnik, na západe Ráztočno či Strážovské vrchy. Za dobrého počasia určite zbadáte aj Bojnický zámok.
V masíve Hájskej skaly sa nachádza aj verejnosti voľne prístupná Hájska jaskyňa, ktorá je dlhá 25 m. Vznikla činnosťou priesakových. Podľa nálezov bola jaskyňa obývaná už v neolite.
Na Hájsku skalu sa môžete vybrať od železničnej stanice Ráztočno, kde môžete zaparkovať aj auto. Následne vás modro značený chodník prevedie cez lúku, listnatý les, ale i strminku. Výstup je nenáročný a krátky - približne 2 km. Pomalým tempom cesta trvá len cca 50 minút.

Topoľčiansky hrad I Topolcany castle
Chcel by som vám predstaviť Topoľčiansky hrad, ktorý sa nachádza pri malej dedinke Podhradie. Na malom parkovisku sa dá odstaviť auto a asi 10 minút chôdze na hrad, kde vás tak okrem hradu čaká aj nádherný výhľad na hornú Nitru. Hrad to síce nie je veľký, ale pôsobí ako z rozprávky.
V areáli hradu sa dodnes zachovali jeho charakteristické časti.Veľká hranolovita stupňovito ukočená veža dáva hradu vlastný charakter, pod ktorou sa nachádza malé elipsovité anfiteatrum. Tento kráľovský hrad z 13. storočia sa stal strediskom topoľčianskeho hradného panstva. V 15. storočí ho obsadili husiti, v čase tureckých vpádov plnil dôležitú obrannú funkciu. Začiatkom 18. storočia ho počas Rákócziho povstania silne poškodili cisárske vojská. Hoci ho neskôr opravili, postupne začal pustnúť. Vo veži sa nachádza malá expozícia k dejinám hradu.
I would like to introduce you to Topolcany Castle, which is located near the small village of Podhradie. You can park your car in a small parking lot and walk for about 10 minutes to the castle, where you can enjoy not only the castle but also a wonderful view of the upper Nitra. The castle is not big, but it looks like something from a fairy tale.
Its characteristic parts have been preserved in the area of the castle to this day. A large prismatic tower with a stepped top gives the castle its own character, under which there is a small elliptical amphitheater. This royal castle from the 13th century became the center of the Topolcany Castle estate. It was occupied by the Hussites in the 15th century, and at the time of the Turkish invasions it served an important defensive function. At the beginning of the 18th century, during the Rákóczi uprising, it was heavily damaged by imperial troops. Although it was later repaired, it gradually began to loosen. In the tower there is a small exposition on the history of the castle.
