Life in VLADIVOSTOK 2024 (the end of Russia)
This is Vladivostok, in the far east of Russia. Over 9000 kilometres from Moscow, the Far East feels like the edge of the world but what is life like here? The Russian far east is the least populated region in Russia with only around 8 million people living here (or just over 5% of the Russian population). Vladivostok is the capital of Primorsky Krai and it’s the second-largest city in the Russian Far East, after Khabarovsk, with a population of just over 600,000. During the Soviet period it was a closed city, meaning no outsiders could enter, however these days, it is one of the most open cities Russia, with many tourists arriving from neighbouring countries (mainly China). Vladivostok is most famous as the final stop of the trans Siberian railway, the train stretching 7 days across from European to Asian Russia. It is also known for its natural harbour location and as the home port of the Russian Pacific Fleet. We arrived yesterday on a ship from Korea, and can't wait to check out the city, and try to understand more about life here and its people. Welcome to 'Vladik'

Discover the Hidden Gems of Vladivostok, Russia's Vibrant City in the Far East
We often forget that Russia stretches really far east. There is plenty of land way out there that borders China and North Korea, and it is about darn time that we filmed a video about the easternmost part of Eurasia!
Vladivostok looks really different from the rest of the country - and a lot newer. There doesn't seem to be much Soviet stuff here - it looks more like San Francisco than Moscow. There are plenty of bridges uniting the city. The weather is very warm and sunny. And there are tons of seafood to be had all around the city at quality levels vastly superior to Moscow. All in all, Vladivostok is the kind of Russian experience you’d never expect!
