Visiting France's Most Dangerous City...
We booked tickets to Marseille only to discover afterwards it's poor reputation for crime and safety. This made us incredibly nervous and the more we researched the more bad we found. After hours of research, I was nearly dreading our trip, but like anywhere we go, we wanted to give Marseille a chance and treat it with caution.
We left Marseille feeling fulfilled, inspired, and sad to go so soon. Going in with such low expectations left us feeling quite appreciative of everything there is to see. The city is old with modern and impressively progressive features and overall the city is a multicultural hub. To us, the city was flowing with art, creativity, and music. People were fashionably dressed, expressive, and incredibly kind to us (even though we don’t speak a word of French).
It’s always important for us to go into places with an open mind, ready to form our own opinions apart from those on the internet. Like any city Marseille has its bad areas, but we are so grateful these didn’t deter us from experiencing everything she has to offer.

Marseille City Walking Tour | Tavel Vlog | People and places
In this the first of my travel vlog videos from Marseille France, I had to wait a while at the station for my train, before getting to the city of Marseille. I took a walk through the city to see what I could discover about the history of Marseille, the people and the places. I found the Porte d’Aix or Port Royale, which was large and impressive and a section of ruined Roman aqueduct which had survived, despite the area around it being modern buildings. later in this travel vlog or travel video, I walked towards the old port, finding some interesting monuments and statues, discovering people and places around the city of Marseille in France during my travel vlog.

Hyères (French Riviera / Côte d'Azur) - One Day in this Cute City Near Porquerolles
Hyères is the oldest seaside resort of the French Riviera and has kept a certain elegance and many assets! The city has indeed many Belle Époque villas as well as a medieval center which testify to a rich heritage. The city is one of the largest municipalities in France, its territory extends over 30 km from north to south and includes the beautiful island of Porquerolles (sometimes called the island of Hyères). Don't leave without visiting the Tour des Templiers as well as the Place Massillon and the Rue Portalet! For the more athletic, we recommend walking to the top of the hill and visiting the remains of the 13th century castle. You will definitely fall in love with Hyères!

What to Do in Nimes and Avignon? | France Travel Guide
Join us on our trip to France where we travel to the historic cities of Nîmes, Avignon, Arles, and Orange located in southern France, and hold some of the best preserved examples of ancient Roman architecture and history.
In Episode 11 of our Eurotrip 2020 series, we feature highlights of our trip around the southern France region starting with a morning visit to the city of Nîmes where we explore the various Roman architecture and historic sites throughout the city including the Arena of Nîmes, Maison Carrée, and the Temple de Diane located in the beautiful Les Jardins de la Fontaine.
We stop for a few hours at the famous Pont du Gard, a UNESCO site and one of the best preserved examples of Roman architecture, specifically of an aqueduct bridge, in the world. The views here are so lovely!
We based ourselves in the city of Avignon, known for the historic Palais des Papes, a historical palace and fortress in southern France, which was once the seat of Western Christianity! From here we explored the city of Arles which contains several examples of Roman architecture collectively referred to as the Roman and Romanesque Monuments of Arles, all listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Lastly, we visited the city of Orange which contains of the the best preserved examples of all Roman theatres. These cities are a short distance away from Avignon, so definitely recommend staying here for a few days.
