Church of the Savior on Blood
Also variously called the Church on Spilt Blood. Was built on the site where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated and was dedicated in his memory. Construction began in 1883 under Alexander III. Completed during the reign of Nicholas II in 1907.
Peter and Paul Fortress
The original citadel of the city founded by Peter the Great in 1703 and built to Domenico Trezzini's designs from 1706-1740. In the early 20th century, it was still used as a prison by the tsarist government.
Hermitage Museum
A museum of art and culture. One of the largest and oldest museums in the world, it was founded in 1764 by Catherine the Great and has been open to the public since 1852. The museum is closed on Mondays.

A semicircular overlook with circular ramps descending to a jetty projecting into the river. ere originally intended to serve as beacons and originally were topped by a light in the form of a Greek brazier and lit by oil.
Summer Garden
Occupies an island between the Fontanka, Moika, and the Swan Canal. Was personally designed by Czar Peter in 1704. A flavour of a Garden à la française was added by French architect Jean-Baptiste Le Blond in 1716.
Kunstkamera
Was the first museum in Russia. Established by Peter the Great and completed in 1727. Often seen as a haphazard collection of incoherent rarities. Features a large assortment of human and animal fetuses with anatomical deficiencies.
Cabin of Peter the Great
A small wooden house which was the first St Petersburg palace of Tsar Peter the Great. The log cabin was constructed in three days in May 1703, by soldiers of the Semyonovskiy Regiment.
Imperial Porcelain Factory
A producer of handpainted ceramics. Was established by Dmitry Ivanovich Vinogradov in 1744. and was supported by the Romanov tsars since Empress Elizabeth. Former name: Lomonosov Porcelain Factory.
Russian cruiser Aurora
A 1900 Russian protected cruiser, currently preserved as a museum ship. A symbol of the October Socialist Revolution and a prominent attribute of Russian history. The oldest commissioned ship of the Russian Navy.
Saint Isaac's Cathedral
The largest orthodox basilica and the fourth largest cathedral in the world. edicated to Saint Isaac of Dalmatia, a patron saint of Peter the Great, who had been born on the feast day of that saint.

Yelabuga is a town in the present-day Republic of Tartarstan, located on the right bank of the Kama River, some 200 km (210 m.) from Kazan. The town is able to trace its history back to the 10th century AD, when a Volga Bulgarian border castle was built in 985. The castle was later abandoned and only a small tower still remains.

History: Capri’s rich history stretches back to Roman times, when Emperor Tiberius made the island his private retreat. Over the centuries, Capri has been a destination for artists, writers, and royalty. Over several years of work in terrible conditions, Vinogradov not only found the secret of making porcelain and the glaze for painting, but also set up a factory with well-established porcelain production.

He was the first Russian to describe the technology of porcelain production.

Захар Виноградов (1882-1963) родился в семье купца 2-й гильдии, потомственного почётного гражданина З. И. Виноградова. В 1894 г. поступил в Харьковское реальное училище, а в 1901 г. – на механическое отделение Харьковского технологического института, в 1903 г. исключён за участие в студенческих волнениях. В 1906 г. переехал в Москву и полностью посвятил себя фотографии. Участник экспедиции В. А. Русанова на Новую Землю в 1908 г. в качестве фотографа. Его стереоскопические серии – это прежде всего географическое и этнографическое исследование, особенно значимое для России с ее колоссальной территорией и разным по составу населением. В 1910 г. в серии стереопар «Жизнь и природа России» сделал подборку стереоснимков «Крым». Фотографии Виноградова опубликованы в журнале «Искры», №6, 1911 г. Владелец фотографической мастерской «Видов России». Ученик А. М. Донде, фотографа и автора одного из пособий по стереоскопической съемке, Виноградов учитывал все требования и возможности стереофотографии, такие как расположение света и соотношение планов......

Surprisingly little is known about this apparently outstanding photographer. Vinogradov traveled all over the Volga region and created a large album of photographs, for which he received an award and exhibited in Moscow.
Zakhar Vinogradov (1882-1963) was born into the family of a merchant of the 2nd guild, hereditary honorary citizen Z. I. Vinogradov. In 1894 he entered the Kharkov real school, and in 1901 - the mechanical department of the Kharkov Technological Institute, in 1903 he was expelled for participating in student unrest. In 1906 he moved to Moscow and devoted himself entirely to photography. Member of the expedition of V. A. Rusanov to Novaya Zemlya in 1908 as a photographer. His stereoscopic series are, first of all, a geographical and ethnographic study, especially significant for Russia with its colossal territory and diverse population. In 1910, in a series of stereo pairs Life and Nature of Russia, he made a selection of stereo images of Crimea. Vinogradov's photographs were published in the Iskra magazine, No. 6, 1911. Owner of the photographic workshop Views of Russia. A student of A. M. Donde, a photographer and author of one of the manuals on stereoscopic photography, Vinogradov took into account all the requirements and possibilities of stereo photography, such as the location of light and the ratio of plans....

Moscow is a city with a developed system of tram routes.
Historically, the tram is one of the symbols of Moscow.
The system of tram traffic in Moscow was first opened in 1899.
Much time has passed since then.
Now there are 40 tram routes in Moscow.
The development of the tram industry does not stand still, either.
For several years now, a new-generation tram, the Vityaz M, has been in operation in Moscow.
71-931 Vityaz is a Russian three-unit six-axle 100% low-floor tram.
Currently exists in two versions: the basic model Vityaz and 71-931M Vityaz-M modification with modified front and rear mask, different interior and Russian-designed traction motors.
In this video, we will take a ride on a new generation tram Vityaz-M on route number 39.
Route number 39 is the longest tram route in Moscow.
The route begins near the subway station Chistye Prudy (this is the Center of Moscow) and ends near the subway station Universitet (this is southwest of Moscow).
There are 38 stops on tram route 39 from Chistye Prudy metro to Universitet metro.
Sit back and make a cup of tea or coffee.
In the next hour, you will take a trip on the longest tram route in Moscow and see what Moscow looks like from the tram window.

Today we will walk along one of the main thoroughfares of the Petrogradsky District in St. Petersburg, Russia. The emergence of the Bolshoy Prospect (large avenue) dates back to the 1730s. The beginning of our walk from the Petrogradskaya metro station to Tuchkov bridge. There are a lot of apartment buildings, restaurants and shops on Bolshoy Prospect (Big avenue). The place is not very touristy. It's almost Christmas weather - it's snowing! We will take a walk, admire the architecture (Northern Art Nouveau), admire the showcases decorated for the holiday and try to feel the spirit of Christmas ...
