9 Best Things to Do in Vero Beach // Travel Guide 2023
Located on Florida’s Treasure Coast between Melbourne and Palm Beach is a coastal community that’s one of the state’s best laid-back vacation spots.
In the early 1700’s, a Spanish treasure fleet wrecked off the Vero Beach shoreline during a hurricane attracting English pirates who recovered the loot. Coins from those ships continue to wash ashore to this very day.
Today, Vero is known for its breathtaking beaches as well as being a haven for golf, water sports and fishing. On this episode, we show you 9 of the best things to do in Vero Beach, Florida.

Small Beach Town Vs Big City | Where To Move in Florida | Vero Beach VS Miami
Hi there! Welcome to The Reynolds Team YouTube Channel!
Vero Beach vs Miami
Are you thinking of moving to Florida and are trying to decide if you want a big city or small beach town lifestyle? Then this video is for you! We are taking Florida’s most popular cities and comparing them to our hometown, Vero Beach, to help YOU decide which city you should call home. Here are the Top 3 things to consider when choosing between Vero Beach and Miami.
Miami is infamously known as the most expensive city in Florida. Cost of living is only about 14% higher than the national average, but housing is 44% higher. Miami is getting more expensive everyday as many people give into the big city by the beach appeal and move down to south florida. Vero Beach on the other hand is considered a hidden gem. We are undervalued because not many people know about us. Homes and condos are located oceanfront, riverfront, on a golf course, acreage and everywhere in between. So whichever your lifestyle, you can find a home to fit your needs. Median home value is $330,000 which makes it still a very affordable place to live, especially for a beach town.
Miami is warm all year round and the temperature rarely drops below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The summers may get a bit humid for some people, but it's manageable outside of July and August. Miami residents do have to deal with Hurricanes, being on the east coast and close to the equator Miami is prone to hurricanes and strong thunderstorms. Vero Beach is warm all year around, but temperatures will dip as low as the 40s during the winter months. So if you still want to wear cozy Christmas sweaters without the snow, Vero Beach is for you! Another great pro is that Vero Beach does not see very many hurricanes. While we do experience a rainy season as the rest of Florida does, it is rare for us to experience major storms or hurricanes.
Vero Beach is located on the Atlantic Ocean, which brings in cool breezes to our warm beaches and waves perfect for surfers. Locals tend to steer clear of the beach during the colder months, but you’ll find the beach hustling and bustling for most of the year. While the beaches are a favorite for locals, Vero Beach's small town atmosphere means the beaches are never crowded and there’s always plenty of easily accessible free parking. So, if you’re looking for a nice open beach to enjoy peaceful sunrise yoga, Vero Beach is for you! Miami on the other hand is a huge tourist attraction. Especially during the summer months and spring break, locals experience a lot of frustration from the influx of tourism. A pro to living in a touristy town is all of the great amenities. Miami’s culinary scene features some of the US's best Cuban, Mexican and Caribbean food. As well as some of the best nightlife and many career opportunities with many major companies headquartered in downtown Miami. Vero does offer a nice variety of locally owned restaurants, but they don’t compare in number and variety compared to Miami (yet Vero’s options are increasing). And as we continue to grow so do our career opportunities!

Vero Beach Vs Sebastian Florida | Where should I Move To in Florida
Interested in getting into contact with us? You can reach us at (772) 277-2212 | Sales@MyReynoldsTeam.com
In this video we will be discussing the key differences between Vero Beach and Sebastian, 2 beautiful small towns on the east coast of Florida that are growing in popularity!
A big difference between both towns is that Vero Beach is better suited for beach lovers because of its amazing use of its beachside while Sebastian’s location is better suited for boater enthusiasts because of its proximity to the Sebastian Inlet and its location on the river. Sebastian’s riverfront is beautiful, with many locally owned restaurants with fresh seafood and bars with locally brewed beer lining the water. You’re also able to rent fishing boats and enjoy a day on the river or dock on one of the sand bars and enjoy your own little private beach.
Vero Beach on the other hand is a small beach town with a beautiful beachside lined with restaurants and shops. You’ll find chic cocktail lounges, sandwich shops, gift shops, and so much more just a walking distance from the ocean. In Sebastian, to get to the Ocean you will need to drive to the closest beach, Wabasso Beach, which is about a 15–20-minute drive. In Vero Beach the riverfront is not as well utilized, but you are able to dock your boat on the marina or buy a riverfront home with a dock to enjoy the sparkling and peaceful river!
Vero Beach and Sebastian are similar in that they are both small towns on the east coast of Florida with beautiful homes that are still affordable. However, Vero Beach has been growing tremendously the past couple years, and has more amenities than Sebastian does. You will not find many big box stores in Sebastian- they have a Publix, Walmart, and Home Depot- the rest of the shops you will find are mom and pop shops owned by locals. Vero Beach on the other hand does have a shopping center and a mall, and you can find a Target, TJMaxx, Chick Fil A, and a few more franchise stores. The great thing is Sebastian is only a 20-minute drive from Vero, so these amenities are not too far if you’re a Sebastian resident.
What is great about both towns is that if you're looking for a few more amenities typically found in bigger cities Sebastian is only half an hour away from Melbourne, and Vero Beach is only half an hour away from Fort. Pierce! And both towns have access to I-95, where you can get to Orlando, West Palm, and other cities in just a couple of hours. Being centrally located on the coast of Florida means you have easy access to many cities when you live in Sebastian or Vero.
Ultimately, when choosing between Vero and Sebastian you are choosing between lifestyles! Can you see yourself living in a beach town with a few more amenities, or a quieter town on the river with more mom and pop shops. Leave your answer in the comments below!
Here’s what you need to know – We have helped clients buy and sell homes in Vero Beach, Sebastian, and Hutchinson Island, FL since 2006. We welcome you to come and discover The Treasure Coast, known for a relaxed lifestyle, sandy beaches, sunny weather and year-round boating, fishing and golfing!

Vero Beach Vs. St. Augustine, Florida | Where To Move To in FL
Hi there! Welcome to The Reynolds Team YouTube Channel!
Believe it or not, we hear from many people trying to decide between buying a home in Vero Beach or St. Augustine. We are taking Florida’s most popular cities and comparing them to our hometown, Vero Beach, to help YOU decide which city you should call home. Here are the Top 3 things to consider when choosing between Vero Beach and St. Augustine.
St. Augustine lays claim to being the oldest city in the U.S., so while the population is only around 18,000 residents, the city is a lighthouse for tourism attracting over 6 million visitors a year! St. Augustine offers an enormous variety of dining and live music options, including an outdoor amphitheater, perfect for those that want to live in a small town while still enjoying the luxuries of entertainment typically seen in larger cities.
Vero does offer a nice variety of restaurants, but they don’t compare in number and variety compared to St. Augustine (yet Vero’s options are increasing).
Vero Beach’s population swells during “season” when snowbirds migrate south for the winter yet our beachside town still remains on the quiet side with minimal traffic. Vero’s live music options are mainly local bars and street festivals, perfect for those that crave a quiet small town lifestyle.
As the crow flies, homes in both cities are not far from the long stretches of sandy beaches, but St. Augustine’s traffic makes it a longer commute than Vero Beach. Housing costs are 21.2% more expensive and the cost of living is 7.2% higher in St. Augustine. So when looking for a home, you’ll get more bang for your buck in Vero Beach.
St. Augustine is a great choice for those who like a bit of cooler weather in the winter, and perhaps not as much heat and humidity in the summer. Whereas, Vero Beach’s temperatures don’t dip as low, perfect for those who love a year round warm climate.
You have to weigh out the pros and cons of how tourism affects a small town and the lifestyle you desire when choosing between Vero Beach and St. Augustine!
