Dhanushkodi
Known as the 'City of Ghosts' or the 'Lost City', Dhanushkodi has an indelible identity. Dhanushkodi, which translates to 'end of the bow', is located on Pamban Island in the state of Tamil Nadu. This place is just 29 km away from Thalaimannar in Sri Lanka. According to various reports, the railway line from Pamban to Dhanushkodi was destroyed in a severe cyclone in 1964. Unfortunately, during this storm, 100 people were killed when a passenger going to Dhanushkodi was hit by a storm. This region is very beautiful on the border between India and Sri Lanka. Dhanuskodi gained prominence as a tourist destination after the 1964 disaster.
