Serbia is one of the most underrated countries in Europe. It is part of the Balkan countries and is completely landlocked. It is in Eastern Europe and shares its border with Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
First time visitors will usually visit Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš but we’d suggest some other places.

Everyone wants to go off the beaten path, But honestly, for most international travellers, Serbia is an off the beaten path choice to begin with. You’ll be able to enjoy the benefits of off-the-beaten-path travel which is — lower prices and fewer tourists. Serbia is a hidden gem of a country that isn't talked enough about. 🇷🇸 The 5 BEST CITIES in SERBIA that AREN'T Belgrade

These 5 cities are (imo) the best in Serbia to travel to that aren't Belgrade, especially if you will be in Serbia for a while and have time to base yourself in different cities to explore more of the country. This list is also good if you are planning to move to Serbia or or live in Serbia already.

I should add, I made this guide of the best cities in Serbia based on the city being an actual city (so no towns or larger towns made the list), and the city is a great base for travelers due to lots of activities, excursions, convenience, amenities, available accommodations, ease of transportation to-and-from the city and/or the city being super dynamic with what it has to offer.

Top Things to do in BELGRADE SERBIA!! Not what you expect! (Belgrade Travel Guide)

Travel Belgrade Serbia and you will be surprised!! When it comes to eastern European destinations, Belgrade often gets ruled out because of its reputation in Hollywood films as being a place for the shadier characters. But that's such a false conception of the truth. From our experience in Belgrade, Serbians were so down to earth and loved to have a good time. From their coffee scene to their nightlife, from their cultural sites to their historical museums, there is a ton to see in this city. This is our Belgrade Travel Guide.

OUR STORY
Hey! We're Olivia and Nathan 👋🏽 A couple from California.

We met back in 2014 in Monterey, California. I (Olivia) was a senior in college & Nathan had recently moved back to the area after living in Italy.

After a few “deep life talks” (ones that were so foreign to me) and hearing about the lifestyle Nathan had been creating for himself for the last 6 years, I wanted to spend more time with him.

We started dating and I learned how he’d moved to Cambodia when he was 17, Germany when he was 18, Italy when he was 20, and was itching to travel again.

I was fascinated and wondered HOW THE HECK DID THIS GUY PAY FOR ALL OF THAT?

Nathan would work in California for 2 years, save every dollar he could, move abroad, find a job in that country, live there for 1-2 years and then do it all over again. Each time, he’d learn the language of that country, acquire new skills & make lifelong friends.

I was deeply inspired & wanted to travel with him. After 1 year of working our butts off and saving every dollar we could, we moved to Australia. We lived + worked there for 3 years (learned to speak perfect Australian lol) & created online jobs so we could continue traveling full-time.

We were traveling South America when covid hit, flew home and bought an RV to travel the US.

Down to earth, entertaining, and informative is our goal — we want you to feel like you’re experiencing the day with us.

Swimming At Užice City Beach | SERBIA 🇷🇸

Antics from another day here in the stunning Užice Western Serbia 🇷🇸

We went to try the famous komplet lepinja at Pekara Šuljaga before heading out of the city for a walk into nature through the old railway tunnels to the huge dam area.

Užice even has a city beach which we had loads of fun messing around at on this hot summer day here in Serbia. To round things off we also tried a random komplet lepinja recommended to us by a local which was bloody brilliant!

🇷🇸 UŽICE 4K City Walkaround | SUMMER EVENING in SERBIA | Hotel ZLATIBOR & More! | Travel Serbia 2022

🇷🇸 UŽICE, SERBIA - Welcome to Part 3 of my 2022 Serbia Travel series! It’s time to check out my home base, Užice! I filmed a couple of regular travel videos here last year, but this video is one of my 4K City walkarounds, where we walk around the city for 30 minutes in one shot. We visit Blue Moon (epic Komplet Lepinja), Partizan Square, Hotel Zlatibor, the main street through the centre, the River Đetinja and more!

People often describe Užice as ‘the ugliest city in Serbia’, but I love it. The scenery, history, architecture, people and Serbian food are all amazing. I would seriously recommend! It has also has great bus/train connections to locations such as Zlatibor, Bajina Bašta, Čačak, Požega, Ovčar Banja, and more! Užice is one of my favourite places to visit in Serbia.

This is my 5th visit to Serbia (I was first here in 2019). Two of my trips were heavily impacted by the pandemic, but in 2021 I managed to explore quite extensively, visiting outstanding locations such as Kruševac, Subotica, and Kragujevac!

How to Spend a Day in BELGRADE SERBIA (City Tour) | Ryan Pelle

After taking, what seems like, a never-ending bus ride, I'm finally in Belgrade, Serbia.

Belgrade is the capital of Serbia and the former capital of Yugoslavia. A lot of what you can read online about Belgrade is probably not on a positive note and I'm not here to dispute all those travel reviews. But what I can show you is how I spent one day in Belgrade and see for yourself if this is something you want to experience yourself. The only thing you will not see in this video is the nightlife in Belgrade. I've heard it's incredible but sadly I'm just too old for that scene these days LOL!

Here are the places I visited in Belgrade:
0:00 Introduction
0:26 Bus ride from Sarajevo to Belgrade
0:45 Visegrad (Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge)
1:37 Stari Grad, Uzice
2:23 Welcome to Belgrade
2:39 Republic Square
2:53 National Museum of Serbia
3:02 Knez Mihailova Street
3:35 Kalemegdan Park
3:45 Monument of Gratitude to France
4:49 The Victor
5:01 Walk towards Saint Sava Church
6:16 Saint Sava Church
8:25 Trying to get inside government buildings in Belgrade
10:58 Hotel Moskva
11:10 Skadarlija Street (Bohemian part of Belgrade)
11:51 Sebilj Fountain in Belgrade
11:58 Monument of Stefan Nemanja in Belgrade
13:36 Walking along Sava River Promenade

There are walking tours you can do in Belgrade. This one comes highly recommended:
