Tianxiang Park in Ji’an city

The current Ji’an city of Jiangxi, where Luling Culture originated, is famous as an important center of learning with about 300 well-known academies, and home to notable scholars, literati, and government officials in feudal China. During about 1000 years from Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, Luling had nearly 3,000 Jinshi, candidates in the highest imperial examinations. They were among the best scholars in the nation then, which included the widely respected literati like Ouyang Xiu and Wen Tianxiang. And Tianxiang Park is named after Wen Tianxiang (noble title Duke of Xin), who was a Chinese poet and politician in the last years of the Southern Song dynasty.

Solo Hiking 15KM On CHINA-NORTH KOREA Border | Tumen, China

Hiked more than 15 kilometers that day at Tumen with a temperature way below the freezing point.

There was an immense forest at Mt. Riguang, and I was the only one visiting on that day. Roaming among the trees and snow, the tragic ending of Naoko (from Norwegian Woods) suddenly came to me.

China 2015: Overnight Train to Tumen

I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (

Capital of Russian Siberian villages - Tumen. Vlog ⬇️

Vlog in Tumen is here

Trip to China - North Korea - Russia border - Changbai mountains & Heavenly Lake

A trip to China-North Korea-Russia 3 country border scenic area and beautiful mountains of Changbai and Tianqi Heavenly lake. TianChi Lake is 13 km in circumference but cannot be walked around owing to the border with North Korea. The border with North Korea is not clearly marked and there have been arrests by North Korean border guards of foreigners. The terrestrial boundary between Russia and North Korea runs along the fairway of the Tumen River and its estuary, while the maritime boundary separates the two countries' territorial waters in the Sea of Japan. The principal border treaty was signed on April 17, 1985. A separate, trilateral treaty specifies the position of the tripoint of the borders of Russia, North Korea, and China. Because the theoretical tripoint is in the middle of the river, where it would be impractical to install a border monument, the agreement provides instead that the three countries install border monuments on the riverbank, and that the position of the tripoint be determined with respect to those monuments. Covers cities such as Yanji, Hunchun, Fangchuan, Tumen, Rason, Namyang town of North Korea.

Quanzhou 泉州 | Fujian 福建 | The Starting Point of The Maritime Silk Road

Quanzhou lies northeast of Xiamen, facing Taiwan across the sea. It is one of the first famous historic and cultural cities listed by the State Council.
Quanzhou is rich in history and culture, with a lot of places of historical interests and world-known cultural relics. In Quanzhou, there are 12 state protected historic sites, and 27 provincial heritage conservation units. Quanzhou is also known as the Biggest Port in the Orient and the starting point on the Silk Road of the Sea. Since ancient times, different religions have been in harmony with each other, and eastern and western culture have gathered together. Particularly, Buddhism, Taoism and Manichaeism have had their influence here. Many of the religious relics are of great historic and artistic value, adding a unique cultural landscape to Quanzhou.

History
Quanzhou, which was called Citong in the past, was the starting point of The Silk Road of the Sea in the Middle Ages. Quanzhou played an important role in the communication between eastern and western cultures. The marine traffic in Quanzhou began in the Southern Dynasties and developed throughout the Tang Dynasty. By the Song and Yuan dynasties, the port of Citong had reached its peak and was called the Biggest Port in the Orient by Marco Polo. Quanzhou at that time had become an economic and cultural center of the world. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, due to the seclusion policy of the government, business operated by official bodies decayed and private business rapidly emerged. Many people in Quanzhou migrated abroad and thus Quanzhou became a famous home town of overseas Chinese.

Top Attractions in Quanzhou, Fujian
In Quanzhou urban area, scenic spots are mainly concentrated in Licheng district, among which West Street, East Street, Tumen Street and Zhongshan Street are the main tourist streets in Quanzhou. However, on a large scale, there are also some county-level cities under the jurisdiction of Quanzhou city, such as Nan’an, Jinjiang, Shishi and Hui 'an, where you can have a more pure and authentic taste of Southern Fujian Culture. It is worth spending time digging around.
1. Quanzhou West Street
West Street (西街), symbolizing the prosperity of Quanzhou, has witnessed the change of Quanzhou silently for thousands of years. Up to now, it is still the most complete ancient block preserved in Quanzhou urban area, with more than 20 cultural relics protection units at all levels. Walking here, you will have a feeling of shopping in the bustling city of the Tang and Song dynasties.
2. Kaiyuan Temple
Kaiyuan Temple (开元寺), the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian, has a history of more than 1,300 years. The most special spots in the temple are the East and West Stone Tower, The Zhenguo Tower and the Renshou Tower. They are the tallest pair of stone towers in China. They have withstood the test of the 8-magnitude earthquake and many typhoons, and still stand tall.
3. Zhongshan Street
Zhongshan Street (中山街) is the most famous street in Quanzhou. It is the only and best preserved commercial street of row-arcade buildings in China. The colonnaded arcade building along the street embodies the essence of Nanyang style architecture, which enables people to shelter from rain and shade and makes it easier for people to get around.
4. Luoyang Bridge
Luoyang Bridge (洛阳桥), one of the four famous bridges in ancient China, is a masterpiece of bridge architecture of the Han Nationality. It has a solid structure, beautiful figure, beautiful shape and extremely high bridge engineering technology and artistic level. There are many stone carvings and lions on the bridge. It’s an indispensable bridge for locals.
5. China Museum of Fujian-Taiwan Kinship
The main exhibits in the museum are about the culture and history of cross-Strait. You can see a giant painting of banyan trees made by blasting with gunpowder, which is 18 meters high and 9 meters wide, which is very shocking. The best way to learn about a city is to learn about its culture, and this museum is the class of Minnan Culture.

Quanzhou Accommodation & Where to Stay in Quanzhou
Most visitors would choose to stay in the urban area of Quanzhou city, for the main attractions like Tumen Street, Zhongshan Street and Kaiyuan Temple are all concentrated in the urban area of Quanzhou. However, Quanzhou is not a big city, almost all scenic spots in the city can be reached by taxi, so you don’t need to worry about the geographical location of hotels. There are many types of local hotels, ranging from economical youth hostels to five-star luxury hotels for you to choose.

Family travel in China / Throwback to 1994
#travelchina #familytravel

Hi, everyone in the world! I'm June.
Welcome to my channel.
I pick a country every week based on the souvenirs my parents or I bought, and cook something from that country.

Today I picked China, because it's the Chinese New Year!
Happy New Year everyone!
1994 my parents, my brother and I went to China. We had an amazing experience there visiting the Forbidden city, the Korean autonomous prefecture Yanbian, Baekdu/Changbai mountain and so on. I'll show you our old photos and my cooking video in which I made Mapo tofu and Chinese dumplings.
Have fun watching!

River Tumen at night, Yanchi, Jilin, August 2013

On a moon lit sky, River Tumen was gorgeous. In order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of modernity of Yanchi, the river banks were decorated with lights and a special water fountain was constructed. This was not the same place in September when I visited Yanchi. Development in China id phenomenal.
