I'M DRIVING BACK TO BOTSWANA WITH MY EUROPEAN TOYOTA HILUX |S2EP6|
I give you some insights about border crossings in Africa: which items and documents are mandatory. And why a Carnet de Passage en Douane (or CPD) can be essential.
I’ve got 18 days to show Botswana to Valerie, before she flies back to France. We start the Botswana adventure in Tshabong where we meet Kabo, a beautiful soul from Tswana ethnicity; the biggest ethnic group in Botswana (around 80% of the population!).
We continue our trip a bit more into the Kalahari desert around the town of Kang, where I decided to climb trees and to change the head of the snorkel. Indeed, I upgraded Rafiki with a cyclonic one -which will bring a secondary filtration to the engine.
Last but not least, we finally reach Ghanzi where we got attacked by…an ostrich!
ENJOY the ride!

A Kalahari language lesson - Setswana and ǃXóõ
From a visit to a small village in Central Kalahari, where a young woman tried desperately to teach me a few words in Basarwa. Actually, I think she tried to teach me Setswana, which is the general language in Botswana. At least it sounded different from earlier courses in Basarwa. The clipping of with the male is a ǃXóõ ʘʼani who speaks ǃXóõ, he is from another part of Botswana Sutzwa.
