Hey guys, this is Samantha and welcome to another Mytanfeet video. in this video We are going to do part 1 of day trips in Guanacaste and these are going to be the best day trips from Tamarindo, Playas del Coco or any of the neighboring beaches. We have a lot to share with you so let's go.
Number one on our list is Rio Celeste, the sky blue river inside Tenorio Volcano National Park. Rio Celeste is the perfect day trip for hiking and nature lovers, as you will be trekking through the lush rainforest to see the waterfall and sky blue river. The entire trail is around 6 kilometers or 3.5 miles and is a must see in Costa Rica.
The next best day trip in Guanacaste is Diamante Eco Adventure Park. This adventure park is excellent for families as they have an animal sanctuary with daily sloth feeding presentations, a traditional house for a cultural experience of chocolate, coffee and sugar cane and one of the most exciting ziplining tours in the country. Their 1.3 kilometer oceanview zipline is a must do in Costa Rica for adrenaline junkies. They also offer an excellent lunch buffet.
Next is one of our most highly recommended day trips from Playas del Coco or Tamarindo, Palo Verde National Park. The Palo Verde day trip consists of a safari boat tour down the Tempisque River to see wildlife such as iguanas, bats, monkeys, crocodiles and river birds. It doesn't require any strenuous activity so Palo Verde is the perfect day trip in Guanacaste for those who are visiting with seniors or young kids as you will be riding a covered motorized riverboat and it takes about half a day so you can be back at your hotel by mid afternoon. Palo Verde offers a highly interesting and educational wildlife watching experience for all visitors.
The next day trip in Guanacaste is for the surfers, a surf trip to Witch's Rock. There are a ton of surfing beaches in Guanacaste including Tamarindo but for those looking for the ultimate surf experience, a Witch's Rock surf trip is a must. You'll boat about an hour from Playas del Coco to the iconic surf spot inside Santa Rosa National Park and on heavy days with a swell, waves can get up to 6 feet or more, ideal for those dreaming of getting barrelled in Costa Rica. On normal days, waves are absolutely perfect for longboarding and shortboarding, with long, open and glassy A-frame waves.
The last day trip in this video is the La Leona waterfall hike. This waterfall hike is only 30 minutes from Liberia and you'll be hiking in the tropical dry forest, swimming in a beautiful blue river and climbing through caves and canyons to get to a hidden cave waterfall. The La Leona waterfall hike is definitely for those looking for a memorable outdoor activity and after the fun hike, you can relax in their natural blue river pools.
I hope you guys enjoyed the video and if you're interested in any of these activities, we have links to our posts in the description below for more details and you can contact us if you want to book any of these tours. Thanks for watching and we'll see you in the next one.

BEST Things TO DO In Quepos, Costa Rica | New Travel Guide 2021
Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. If you plan on traveling to this beautiful destination then I highly recommend visiting Manuel Antonio, Quepos. Manuel Antonio Beach is one of the best beaches in Costa Rica but that is not all that Quepos has to offer. Manuel Antonio National Park is located on the Central Pacific Coast and is known for its vast diversity in wildlife and tropical plants. Caña Negro lets you take a relaxing safari boat to see its many animal inhabitants. You can also check out Tortuguero National Park or see sloths on the Bogarin Trail. One of the best things to do in La Fortuna if you want to see everything it has to offer is Arenal National Park. It’s the best place to start because you’ll see many famous sites. These include Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal.
La Fortuna has hanging bridges that sit over its beautiful jungles and let you watch wildlife from on high. One of the best places to see them is in the Mistico Arenal Park. Years of volcanic activity are part of what makes La Fortuna such a popular destination. It has a wide range of hot springs and warm pools to help you melt your worries away. Thrill-seekers will love flying through the jungle like Tarzan. They can go ziplining or jump off the El Sato rope swing. La Fortuna also has rivers with rapids that are large enough to travel down on a raft or inner tube.
La Fortuna is more than a jungle thanks to spots like La Fortuna Town. It’s full of delicious restaurants and a perfect place to meet the locals. Most tours of La Fortuna take you to popular tourist spots like Arenal Volcano, but a few are more specialized. You can go on one that will help you learn about the process of making coffee, chocolate, or both.

Things NOT To Do in Costa Rica - Part 3
Here are 20 Things NOT To Do in Costa Rica - Part 3!
Number 11. Don't Forget the Insect Repellent
Costa Rica has its fair share of mosquitoes which can spread diseases like dengue or chikungunya. Beyond the health risks, they're just plain annoying and persistent, and insect repellent tends to be expensive and difficult to find once you're there.
12. Don't Expect to See Big Cats in The Jungle
Most travelers would love to see a jaguar, ocelot or puma in the wild on their trip to Costa Rica. These endangered cats are only found on reserves these days, (Tortuguero National Park, Corcovado National Park, La Selva or the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve.) and even in these sanctuaries, it's a rare sighting.
13. Don't Forget to Bring Sunscreen
Costa Rica's many pristine sandy beaches are paradisaical. However, being only 10 degrees north of the equator, the sun is often very strong. Make sure you buy the sunscreen before you go, as it'll be cheaper.
14. Don't Tip in Restaurants
Tipping in restaurants in Costa Rica is not expected, and there is usually a 10% service charge included anyway. Unless you receive exceptionally good service, don't bother tipping in catering establishments.
15. Don't Disrespect Nature
Picking wild plants, pocketing seashells or damaging trees is a big no-no, and may get you in trouble. Most of the wildlife, particularly in the rainforests, is strictly protected by the government.

RIO CELESTE | Tenorio Volcano National Park in COSTA RICA (best waterfall)
The Rio Celeste waterfall is one of the bluest waterfalls we have ever seen. The Rio Celeste Waterfall is located in the Tenorio Volcano National Park which is in the northern part of Costa Rica. We have seen many blue lakes and waterfalls during our time in Alaska but none have been this vibrant. It was even amazing when we walked up the river just a little ways and found a completely brown river. Visiting Rio Celeste is truly a great way to spend some time exploring Costa Rica.

We have left Alaska behind! We moved to Alaska nearly 3 years ago and absolutely loved it. After moving to Alaska however, we quickly realized we wanted even more of an adventure. We decided the next adventure would be a year spent traveling the world.

Top 6 Best Beaches in Costa Rica: Pacific Coast Edition
Which beach is your favorite? Drop us a comment! The Top beaches of Costa Rica is a hard list to narrow down. Many just visit Tamarindo, Jaco, or Santa Teresa. We guess these are fine, but honestly, we didn't see much to drool over in any of them. So here are some slightly lesser traveled, but even more beautiful places to throw a beach mat. Costa Rica's Pacific Coast is famed for beaches of every flavor, color, and personality. Some are great for a day stop like Uvita or Manuel Antonio. These are in National Parks, and though beautiful, there is limited accommodations. Others are a great place to park it for a while! Santa Teresa and Tamarindo are famed for beginner surfers and the party crowd. Flamingo Bay is filled with expats and beautiful condos and restaurants, as well as great organized tours. Brasilito is a true locals beach and village with local food and simple accommodations. While its neighbor Conchal Beach, boasts a great resort
hotel, water sports, and some of the whitest sand on the Pacific. Uvita is the cutest tiny town with the most unique shoreline. Montezuma is a blast for families, party goers, and true beach lovers with its laid back vibe and interesting shoreline. Drake's Bay is for the adventurous and people who like a little off the beaten path fun. You really can't go wrong with the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. It is one of those rare places in the world, where the jungle meets the sea in so many interesting ways. Wildlife is abundant both in and out of the water. It's one of the best places in the world to see the humpback whale migration and get a glimpse of some of the most beautiful birds on Earth. Pick a beach. Pack your bag, and let us know where you chose!
