So, what are the most relevant points of interest in this fascinating island? Here are my answers:
COSTA REI
Located on the southeast coast of Sardinia, Costa Rei is a small village. This place is much appreciated by international travelers as a destination for holidays in Sardinia.
Across miles of stunning white sand beaches, here you can find high-quality tourism services: some of the best family hotels, luxury villas, resorts, restaurants, and much more.
GALLURA
Among the favorite tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, Gallura lies on a beautiful stretch of land almost lapping Corsica, overlooking the Strait of Bonifacio.
The extreme north of the island is the natural pearl of the promontory of Capo Testa, with its beaches surrounded by the greenery of strawberry trees and a rich Mediterranean vegetation.
COSTA SMERALDA
In particular, the Costa Smeralda is a coastal stretch that is part of Gallura and which extends for about 55 kilometers.
Moving south there is the imposing island of Tavolara, in front of which there are other beautiful beaches such as Lu Impostu and Brandinchi.
ALGHERO
Alghero is a city loved for its walkway along the port’s bastions, the red roofs that touch the sky and the historical center: a labyrinth of narrow streets that connect piazzas bustling with life.
VILLASIMIUS
Villasimius is popular for its renowned resorts, hotels and long white sand beaches with crystal clear waters, diving sites, coves, and a landscape covered in the Mediterranean scrub.
LIMBARA
Visit Monte Limbara, a rocky granitic massif not very high (1,359 meters), recommended to those who want to hike and enjoy nature without a deep trekking experience.
CAGLIARI
Most tourists begin their visit in the island capital of Cagliari, stopping at least to climb from Piazza della Costituzione to Bastione San Remy.
Cagliari can be an excellent base for visiting the southern coast of the island, which has some of the best beaches in Sardinia.
STINTINO (LA PELOSA BEACH)
The main tourist attraction of Stintino is the beach of La Pelosa, made of fine white sand and a turquoise-blue sea. An icon here is the tower, built in 1578 by the Aragonese, called Torre della Pelosa.

In the village of Bosa, a tangle of medieval streets winds from the old stone bridge to the hilltop Malaspina Castle.
CAPO FERRATO
The wild promontory of Capo Ferrato is ideal for taking beautiful walks and breathing in nature.

Culurgiones: Sardinian stuffed pockets made from semolina flour, white flour, eggs, water and salt giving a soft crust to the ravioli.

Places to see in ( Sardinia - Italy ) Arbatax
Arbatax is the largest hamlet of Tortolì, Sardinia, in Italy. With almost 5,000 inhabitants, it is also the third largest town in its province by population, after Lanusei municipality and Tortolì proper. The origin of the name Arbatax is uncertain; according to tradition it derived from the Arabic for 14th Tower and refers, probably, to the nearby watchtower built by the Spaniards to protect the territory from the incursion of Arab pirates.
The founders of Arbatax were Campanian fishermen from the island of Ponza, located in Lazio, close to the coast of the Italian Peninsula. The location assumed importance in the 1960s after the construction of the main Sardinian paper mill.
The town is situated by the Tyrrhenian Sea, 5 km west of Tortolì. The port is used by ferries from Civitavecchia and Olbia and is also monopolized by the marine construction company Intermare, which builds gas rigs and vessels. The marina is one of the cheapest in Sardinia.
The town is connected to Lanusei and Cagliari by a narrow gauge railway, today used for touristic purposes, owned by Ferrovie della Sardegna. The closest airport is the Tortolì Airport, about 4 km from the town. Today, the economy is focused on tourism and industry. Arbatax is home to a factory dedicated to the building of oil platforms, controlled by the Italian oil and gas industry contractor Saipem. Mussels are farmed in the nearby lagoon and fresh fish are on sale from the fishing cooperative. The red rocks are a tourist attraction.

Located on the east coast of Sardinia, Tortoli is a charming town in the midst of a stunning and very rugged coastal landscape. Consisting of beautiful beaches, ample shopping, and comfortable accommodation; Tortoli is also a popular destination for tourists wanting to escape the crowds and get lost in small town Sardinia.
Although the nearby town of Arbatax is better known to tourists, Tortoli is an encounter with a smaller and slightly more authentic experience. There is still an excellent infrastructure within the town, and you will find many shopping options including an extensive variety of vegetables and fruit at the market. Furthermore, the village is situated right next to the mountains in Parco Nazionale del Golfo di Orosei e del Gennargentu and a truly stunning pond – Stagno di Tortoli. Tortoli is very antiquated in appearance, and this is best evidenced in the church of St. Andrew at the very center of town. Consisting of baroque styled facades, this ancient theme continues throughout the village with many beautiful pieces of art ensuring the exterior of these buildings is just as interesting. Featuring San Gemiliano Tower and a nuragic village in San Salvatore Park, there seems to be history and culture at every turn.
As already mentioned, there is also a very enticing range of accommodation which includes the luxurious Orri Hotel and Hotel Antica Posada. In fact, while Tortoli is the kind of travel destination to which customers keep coming back year after year, the luxurious and comfortable nature of these hotels is often the main reason it happens. However, the east coast of Sardinia is renowned for having a rugged appearance and some of the most idyllic stretches in this regard are surrounding the town of Tortoli. Standing tall next to the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean, the mysterious red cliffs are quite the spectacle.
In many instances, these cliffs are what attract tourists to the region, and they offer an unforgettable sight during sunset and sunrise. And then there are the many beaches dotted along the coastline next to Tortoli. From Cea, Basaura, and Lido di Orri; there are several of these white sandy beaches which never fail to delight tourists, and these are also rather isolated beaches where you can enjoy your small piece of Sardinia in private.
Featuring a tiny airstrip, you can also expect a very secluded experience in the town itself but for a little bit more variety, the above-mentioned town, Arbatax, is just a short distance away. With this in mind, Arbatax is perfect for a day excursion as this will mean taking a ride on the train which travels through stunning scenery between each port. In spite of the small size, it must be noted how Tortoli is an essential hub for Ogliastra – a region in which the tourism and services economy is now even more important than agriculture. For this reason, the tiny airport and harbor still play a very important role

I definitely started seeing more posts about it, but ultimately went because a pro travel planner @alessiadventure reached out on here when she saw I was heading to Sardinia, and that I didn’t really make any plans.
Since I make plans for a living, I graciously accepted her offer to plan my Baunei Coast portion of my trip, and she did not disappoint, nor did this incredible area!
Baunei Coast has the stunning blue waters like the have in the super popular areas in the north end of the island, but without any crowds! There’s even a spot on the coast with a waterfall (during wet season, I only saw a trickle).
Definitely do the sailboat tour, and go wine tasting nearby! And of course, stay at Alesia’s fabulous 2 bedroom BnB in Tortolì which is a short drive from the port and beaches, and on the Main Street of town which is always lively and fun!

A small town of 10,000 people located on the eastern coast in the central part of Sardinia. Nuoro Province. The port with ferries to Genoa and Cagliari is nearby. From interesting places you can recall Thorros - the ruins of a city founded by Carthaginians, beautiful beaches - Asarutas is distinguished by quartz crystals. Nearby is Arbatax and the Rocce Rose that I have already presented - beautiful rocks, and Torre Disan Gemiliano - Gemiliano beaches have also been presented. I associated this place in only one way: red and gray. Lots of red accents - cars, paintings and motorbikes and ... grayish old buildings. Pretty extreme. And the locals speak a strange language - it's hard to understand them. It is said that strangers rarely came here and the shepherds lived their lives. Photos taken with iPhones in September 2020 - so you can see masks of infected Europe. A musical idea from August 2020 performed on Korg instruments: Wavestation, Monologue and Pa1000.

Tortoli. Sardynia. Włochy.
Małe dziesięciotysięczne miasteczko położone na wschodnim wybrzeżu w środkowej części Sardynii. Prowincja Nuoro. Blisko znajduje się port z którego wypływają promy do Genui i Cagliari. Z ciekawych miejsc można przywołać Thorros - ruiny miasta założonego jeszcze przez Kartagińczyków, piękne plaże - Asarutas wyróżnia się kryształami kwarcowymi. W pobliżu znajduje się Arbatax i prezentowane już przeze mnie Rocce Rose - piękne skały, i Torre Disan Gemiliano - plaże Gemiliano też już prezentowałem. Mnie ta miejscowość kojarzyła się tylko w jeden w sposób: czerwone i bure. Sporo czerwonych akcentów - samochody, malowidła i motory i ... szaro bure stare budynki. Dość skrajnie. A miejscowi mówię dziwnym językiem - trudno ich zrozumieć. Ponoć rzadko tu przybywali obcy i ludność pasterska żyła swoim życiem. Zdjęcia wykonane iphonami we wrześniu 2020 roku - widać więc maseczki, zainfekowanej Europy. Pomysł muzyczny z sierpnia 2020 roku wykonany na instrumentach Korg: Wavestation, Monologue i Pa1000.
