TEQUILA, JALISCO | Day Trip Guide | Tequila Tours | La Alborada | Fortaleza

We are both major Tequila fans, we might even go as far as saying it’s our favorite liquor!  Serve us up a margarita loaded with some tequila and we are in heaven. So of course when in Guadalajara we couldn’t miss the opportunity to go straight to the source. We visited Tequila, Jalisco the birthplace of Tequila and will rave about it for a while.

We’ve been on tequila tours before in Cancun and Mazatlan, but we were able to experience more than just a tasting here. We give a rough guide to follow, from how to get there to where to go, how much it costs and what to expect. Feel free to use this guide for your next trip to TEQUILA!

We eat breakfast overlooking the beautiful Church and then drink quite a bit of Tequila. There are two distilleries that we visit in today’s vlog and we would recommend them to all our friends and family! We had an amazing experience, but watch the vlog to see for yourself!

CANCUN, MEXICO | 5 Must-Do Day Trips from Cancun

Cancun is considered to be the heart of the Mexican Caribbean. At this beautiful destination, you’ll find spectacular white-sand beaches, a turquoise sea, and a vibrant nightlife, which attracts millions of tourists every year. But unfortunately most tourists don’t venture out of the famed Hotel Zone. If you’re staying in Cancun and looking for unique activities to do, we highly recommend you head out of the town at least once during your trip! Cancun is the perfect location to explore nearby towns, Mayan ruins, and natural attractions from. In this video we highlight 5 must-do day trips from Cancun:

5. Río Lagartos & Las Coloradas

Located about 3.5 hours from Cancun, Río Lagartos and Las Coloradas make for a great day trip. Río Lagartos is basically a fishing village located along the Gulf Coast. It’s filled with wildlife and pristine nature. You can explore its protected biosphere by taking a boat tour where you will observe hundreds of flamingos, crocodiles, and pelicans. Right outside the biosphere, you can find the pink water lagoons called “Las Coloradas”. These pink lakes are formed by salt mines and make for stunning pictures.

☑️ Book tour:

4. Tulum

From the Tulum Ruins to the unique Kaan Luum lagoon, the Calavera Cenote and the Gran Cenote, you have plenty of options here. Tulum is a 2 hour drive away from Cancun and can be easily reached by local collectivo or the tourist ADO bus. Alternatively, you can also book a day tour to get here.

☑️ Book tour:

3. Bacalar

Famous for its immense deep-blue lake, Bacalar is located in the south of Quintana Roo, near the border of Belize. It takes about 4 hours to get here by tour bus, so ideally spend more than 1 day here if you can. However, it’s still doable to get there and then back to Cancun in a day if you get an early start. It’s best explored during a boat tour, so you can experience and swim in the different colors and cenotes in the lake.

☑️ Book tour:

2. Isla Mujeres

Only a 20 minute boat ride from Cancun, Isla Mujeres is the closest day trip recommendation on our list. The island is a beautiful, peaceful paradise known for its white-sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and the friendliest locals in the Mexican Caribbean. It’s also a popular scuba diving and snorkeling destination, with the impressive MUSA Underwater Museum of Art and the beautiful Manchones Reef near the shore.

☑️ Book tour:

1. Chichén Itzá

Our favorite day trip from Cancun is to Chichen Itza, one of the 7 World Wonders. This archeological site is located about 3 hours away from Cancun by tour bus. Chichen Itza was once a thriving community of Mayan people and boasts an interesting history that you can’t miss.

Welcome to Tequila, Mexico #travel #shorts

Tequila, Mexico: the birthplace of, yes, tequila. A must-visit destination when in Guadalajara. It's a ~1 hour drive from GDL.

This Pueblo Magico is completely surrounded by the blue agave fields that make #tequila.

I recommend spending 1-2 nights here:
Spend one day exploring the town and one day visiting a distillery or surrounding agave fields.

Some of the tourist activities here can be a bit tacky (i.e; the barrel buses) but overall it's a great place to come and learn about the most popular #agave spirit!

Some of my favorite, highly quality brands to look out for here are:
- Fortaleza
- El Tequileno
- Cascahuin
- Siete Leguas

AirBnB Experiences is also a great place to find unique, private tours with smaller, family-owned businesses.

Would also highly recommend checking out the towns of El Arenal and Amatitán if you want something a bit less touristy

TEQUILA, JALISCO | Tequila Guide | Trip Guide | Mexican Culture #mexico #tequila #vlog #travel

Did you know Tequila is named from an actual town in Jalisco Mexico close to Guadalajara? Check out my Latest Throwback #Youtube Video on the Wonders of Tequila, Mexico: Its Market and Cultural value

In this brief video I explore its history, the Tequila market and its value as both a drink and as a fine investment. In fact, a recent spirits auction yielded a record $250,000 amount for a fine grade Tequila! Major celebs and brands have entered the Market with their own private label lines e.g. The Rock (Dwayne The Rock @TeremanaTequila)

The town of Tequila has a long history! It has produced the famous alcoholic drink as a cultural mix of the Aztecs and the Spaniards. It's where the main production of tequila drinks still takes place in Mexico surrounded by blue agave plants and ancient volcanos. Each bottle of Tequila must have +50% or more of the main ingredient to be called Tequila. The landscape is so beautiful that it has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Guadalajara, also known as THe Pearl of the West, is a city of 5 million, second in size to Mexico City. Founded in 1542, it is a lively, modern city contrasting the old and new. Mexico is known for several things that started in Guadalajara, including Mariachis music that you are listening to as the background music, tequila, and some of the Mexican traditional dishes.
As a visitor, the city has much to offer also. Interestingly, many foreigners have even chosen Guadalajara as the location for their retirement.
One of the most famous attractions in Guadalajara is the Degollado Theater; it's considered one of the finest opera houses in Mexico.
Cancun is known for its beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant nightlife. It is a tropical paradise that offers visitors various activities and attractions, from its beautiful beaches to vibrant nightlife and adventure activities. Guanajuato is a city in central Mexico; it is known for its well-preserved colonial-era architecture, lively cultural scene, and beautiful natural surroundings. Top 5 Things to Do Around Cancun Mexico (Excursions Outside the Resorts)

Top 5 Things to Do Around Cancun Mexico shows you great excursions in the Yucatan Peninsula around Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, and Merida. If you're looking for more than just beaches and resorts make sure to check out these top 5 Things to do around Cancun. First we start out in Chichen Itza, one of the seven wonders of the world. Next we head to Valladolid which is a great base to get a hotel and explore the surrounding areas. From here you can visit Chichen Itza, other ruins, and plenty of Cenotes. Our two favorite Cenotes being Cenote Suytun and Cenote Xcanahaltun. If you're up for a drive then head to the amazing town of Bacalar which we would argue is more beautiful than Cancun, Tulum, or Playa Del Carmen with out the touristy vibes. Here you can rent a boat on Lake Bacalar and travel to Los Rapidos. Last but not least we drove to the Archaeological Zone of Becán where we saw the most amazing Mayan Ruins. There are plenty of ruins closer to Cancun but we loved that you could climb up the pyramids here. Becan was completely empty and truly amazing to see!
