Hirebenkal | Rock Paintings | Hampi
North Karnataka Trip. Ep - 8 : 5 हजार साल पुरानी Onake Kindi Pre-historic Cave Painting #Hampitrip
V - 15
First of all, this place is not for the people, who don't understand the importance of it, and then say waste of time.
These sites are ignored, difficult to find. There is no guide/board available nearby. Google map is the only help to identify the location. Hence, I am uploading photos with marking to pin point the place.
There are two painting locations, very close to each other,
1) Inside a private property, locked gate (mostly) is hidden behind the rocks. Entrance is from solar panel. Lucky, if you manage to see inside
2) Just 50 odd mtrs. before solar panel, there is a rock on the left side of the road (when coming from Anagundi/Hampi side). I have identified/marked the rocks on the photos.
If any shappard/villager around, ask them Where are CHITRA?
Very good prehistoric or premitive paintings (as per Google search 5000 to 15000 year old) to explore, which we have only read in the books. A must visit for people who understand it.
A request - Please don't touch or spoil the paintings. Don't litter around the site and maintain the cleanliness of the place. Thank you.

Revannasiddeshwar Betta(Hills) near Ramnagar.
Shiva ordered Renuka to take incarnation on earth, with the sole intention of spreading bhakti. At first Renuka did not like this idea, but upon persuasion by Shiva, he agreed. Lord Shiva bestowed his Gangaadhareshwara and Chandrashekhara amshas onto Renuka. Thus, with the blessings of lord Shiva, Renuka emerged from the Somashekhara linga near Hyderabad's Kolli saakshi kshetra, and became known as Revanasiddeshwara. A very nice spot for both Rock climbing and Pilgrimage.

Malleshwara temple in Bellary. How does the city got this name ballari ? Answered{ in Telugu}.
Malleshwara temple is located in Ballari ,the state of Karnataka, India.
There are several legends explaining how Bellary got its name. The first is that a few devout travelling merchants halting in Bellary, could not find a Shiva Linga for their worship. They then installed a balla (a measuring cup or seru used to measure grain) upside down as a Shiva Linga and worshiped it. Eventually, that place was turned into a temple dedicated to Balleshwara or Shiva, which became distorted to Malleshwara, and thus Bellary derives its name from this temple.
The second legend is that the city is named after Indra, the king of Gods, who slew a Rakshasa (demon) named Balla who lived nearby. Balla-ari means 'enemy of Balla' (ari – enemy in Sanskrit). The third legend derives the city's name from the old ಕನ್ನಡ word Vallari and Vallapuri. Previous year Episode please watch it too. 31/1/2018 please watch this year Episode too .

Kenchanagudda is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India. The village is located in the Siruguppa taluk of Ballari district.River Tungabhadra flows through this village, branching into seven streams. There are also seven kattes (platforms constructed of stones around a wide tree where a group of people sit for a chit-chat). The place is surrounded by more than a dozen hills.
On the bank of the river there is the vrindavana (holy grave of Hindu saints, especially of those belonging to a matha or parampara(lineage)) of Sri Vasudhendra teertha who is the great grandson of Sri Raghavendra Swami. The Raghavendra mutt of Mantralayam administers the vrindavana. This place attracts Brahmin tourists from all over Karnataka. Every year, on the sixth, seventh and eighth days ( namely shashthi, saptami and ashtami) of the ashvayuja mãsa of the Hindu calendar, the aãradhane (anniversary of the day on which the saint entered the vrindavana alive) of Sri Vasudhendra teertha swamy is held in kenchanagudda.
The river here is known for its scenery. A song of the Kannada film Maanasa Sarovara titled Chanda Chanda was shot here.Remains of the era of Vijayanagara Empire are found around the village.
There is a hydro-electric power plant across one of the seven branches of the river. Kenchanagudda is located 5 km west of Siruguppa. There are two routes to kenchanagudda. When coming from Ballari along NH-150A, take a left besides a petrol bunk, just before entering Siruguppa. The road, headed towards Kampli reaches the kenchanagudda village after 4 km. From the village, a small road tangential off the right of the main road leads to the vrindavana.
