Buying a house can be hard. If you are thinking about California and don't need to be in one of the major cities, this list is for you.
Nobody wants a giant mortgage but in most of California, that is what you are going to get.
If you enjoy these videos I would love to hear about it. Most of these videos are made to help people who are thinking about relocating, looking for real estate, or just wanting to learn about the United States. We look at the best and worst cities, states, towns, and neighborhoods in the United States. But, most of the time focus on the negative side of locations. If you only want some happy positive information about a city, town, or state, I would suggest looking up local mortgage and real estate companies or maybe the locations website. They are trying to sell you something so it will be nothing but sunshine, rainbows, and a bunch of smoke up your skirt. They won't tell you about crime, poverty, bail bondsmen, or insurance you'll need because of natural disasters. I will. And I will try and make it entertaining.

An hour at Tehachapi Loop - 3 freight trains.
Want to see even longer trains? Check out my other Loop video.
Why is it a loop and not straight?
It's the grade, or how much the train gains elevation for a given distance. For example, say the train had to go up 100 meters of elevation. Now assume a 1km long rail that goes in a straight line to go up the 100m. The grade is 100m/1000m or 10% grade. Now if you take the same elevation gain (100m), and put a loop in the rail, that will lengthen the rail to say 2km. The grade is now 100m/2000m or 5%. You can see with the loop, the grade is less than if it were straight, 5% vs 10%, and the lower grade means it is not as steep for very long and heavy trains to not only go up but to go down. Saves on fuel, the need for more power and general wear and tear.
I visited the Tehachapi loop a year prior to this video and maintenance was being done on the tracks. I waited two hours and no trains passed by. This time, as soon as I pulled up, there was a train staged at the loop going down grade. I thought I would miss him as I just passed him coming down as I was driving down the highway. Luckily he stopped. As soon as I got to the overlook, a train was starting to come up grade. The result is in the video. It's like poetry in motion. It's worth mentioning the beautiful scenery just driving to the overlook and beyond, truly enjoyable. The audio was taken from another freight train that I recorded. That train was going much faster than the trains in this video, as you might be able to tell, but it works well enough for my liking. Hope you enjoy.

Tehachapi Mountain Park / Tehachapi, California / A Campground Fav!
Tehachapi Mountain Park is another campground favorite! It's green, full of trees, quiet and peaceful. It's beautiful and has a lot to offer. Join us on our visit to this campground near Tehachapi, California. This is a great RV & tent campground for smaller RVs - no big RVs for sure! It's a narrow, windy road going up, but work it if you have a smaller trailer or RV.

Tehachapi Mountain Winter Hike: California, USA
Tehachapi Mountain is located about 2 hours northeast of LA but it is a completely different world. While we were staying in the area we drove up to the mountain base to hike during the winter. There was a bit of snow on the ground, being the elevation is more than 4,000 feet at the base but it was more than comfortable to enjoy. The views left our mouths open and we were surprised at the serenity of the atmosphere. Unfortunately it was not possible to hike to the top for safety reasons but we will definitely be going back again.
I'm slowly getting into making videos, so it would put a smile on my face if you pressed the 'like' button so I know it was ok.

The property has a driveway leading to a flat area that's ready for a prefab or custom built home.
The property has views to Tomo-Kahni State Historic Park. Nestled atop a ridge in the Tehachapi Mountains, Tomo-Kahni, or Winter Village, was the site of a Kawaiisu (Nuwa) village.

Railroading on the Tehachapi: Hiking and Shooting around Tunnel 10
I recently had a subscriber ask me to shoot a panoramic shot from near the top of tunnel 10 at the top of the Loop so he could use it as a backdrop for his model railroad and I agreed.
I figured I'd catch a train while I was up there but none appeared so I shot this one going through the new cut on the #2 track instead. It was till a cool hike up to the top and I will get a train actually going through the tunnel in the future. In any case it was a good hike that proved I am still in pretty good shape!
As I state in the video, if you would like a specific shot of a specific place let me know and I'll do what I can to get it for you!
