Tanque Verde Falls, more info below ⤵️
🔖 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘱 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨!⠀
✨ Thinking I’m going to make “Trail Talk Thursday” a thing moving forward 😄✨
🥾To get there: type in “Tanque Verde Falls Lower Trailhead” into Google maps. The parking lot is on the left side and the trail begins across the road to the right.
🥾It’s about a 3 mile hike (return)
🥾I would rate it “moderate difficulty” because even thought it’s short, it requires rock scrambling and some climbing to reach the falls.
🥾The first part of of the trail is well laid out / marked .. until you reach the riverbed at the bottom of the canyon. Then, you follow the riverbed (forging your own path) to the falls.
🥾The first falls you reach is the smaller one (about 30 ft high) and has a rather deep swimming hole at the bottom (at least 12+ ft deep in areas). I actually preferred swimming here over the larger one!
🥾To get to the star of the show - the 80ft Tanque Verde Falls - you climb up over & around (to the right) of the smaller one and walk a very short distance. There’s also a good-sized swimming hole here w/ a sandy beach to lounge on.
🥾Clothing Optional 😉
(Note: when I went, the falls were pretty dried up and only trickling BUT the swimming holes were still amazing to play and jump in!).
⚠️This area is very prone to flash flooding - be absolutely sure to check the weather (all around the area - not just there) to be safe! If it rains miles and miles away .. flash flooding can still occur!
⭐️ Please always remember to practice all of the Leave No Trace Principles and be respectful to others and momma nature - let’s all do our part to preserve and protect this gorgeous earth!!
⠀
❓Drop a “ 🏊♀️ “ if you’d like to swim here!!

Take a tour of our property from the perspective of a drone!
See the beauty of the Ranch, starting at the main entrance and continuing to the front desk and dining room. You'll head back out to the desert from there and up to the Old Homestead, where guests are enjoying breakfast on one of our legendary breakfast rides.
Follow the desert wash back to the front lawn and up to the pool, then back out to The Barn, our newest luxury event venue. After you get through The Barn, watch the desert jeep tour leaving the property and a team penning cattle!
From there, you'll see our signature turnout at the corral and head down to Lake Corchran to take in fun activities like axe throwing, fishing, and archery.
Finally, see a Cowboy Cookout in action, head over to the Dog House Saloon for a cocktail, and then back out over the saguaros at sunset.

TANQUE VERDE TO CATALINA HIGHWAY. TUCSON, ARIZONA.
Driving from Tanque Verde at Grant Rd. to Catalina Highway to Molina Vista look out area on mount Lemmon. As I upload this clip today, it snows on the mountain but 5 days ago we had a beautiful sunny day with mild temp., clear blue sky.
Tanque Verde Ridge Trail | Saguaro National Park
We hiked 4.4 miles round trip on the Tanque Verde Ridge Trail in the Rincon Moutain District (East) of Saguaro National Park, in Tucson, AZ. We hiked at the end of February and the weather was great. A good hike in winter and early spring.
The trail is moderately trafficked and well maintained. It has a steady gradual elevation with a beautiful panorama of the city of Tucson and the mountains around. The trail is quiet (except for helicopters from time to time). The terrain is a bit rocky. You can hike as far as you want and turn around any time the way you came. We wanted a day hike so that's what we did.
Bring more water than you would, particularly on a hot day as there is no shade at all on the trail. There is no water at the trailhead and you can refill at the Visitor center when getting into the pack. For footwear, wearing good hiking shoes is a must.

In this episode, we ride from Gilbert, Arizona to Old Town Tucson, and enjoy some good eats at Cielos Restaurant after a great day of riding. Originally, we had planned to go ride Mount Lemmon this day, but the sun was coming down quick, so we called it an early one and spent the night in town, before heading up the mountain the next day.

TUCSON, ARIZONA
Tucson is a city in and the county seat of Pima County, Arizona, United States, and is home to the University of Arizona. It is the second largest city in Arizona, with a population of 542,629 in the 2020 United States Census, while the population of the entire Tucson metropolitan statistical area (MSA) is 1,043,433. The Tucson MSA forms part of the larger Tucson-Nogales combined statistical area (CSA). Tucson is the second most-populated city in Arizona behind Phoenix, both of which anchor the Arizona Sun Corridor. The city is 108 miles (174 km) southeast of Phoenix and 60 mi (97 km) north of the U.S.–Mexico border. Tucson is the 33rd largest city and the 58th largest metropolitan area in the United States (2014).
Major incorporated suburbs of Tucson include Oro Valley and Marana northwest of the city, Sahuarita south of the city, and South Tucson in an enclave south of downtown. Communities in the vicinity of Tucson (some within or overlapping the city limits) include Casas Adobes, Catalina Foothills, Flowing Wells, Midvale Park, Tanque Verde, Tortolita, and Vail. Towns outside the Tucson metro area include Benson to the southeast, Catalina and Oracle to the north, and Green Valley to the south.
Tucson was founded as a military fort by the Spanish when Hugo O'Conor authorized the construction of Presidio San Agustín del Tucsón in 1775. It was included in the state of Sonora after Mexico gained independence from the Spanish Empire in 1821. In 1853, the United States acquired a 29,670 square miles (76,840 km2) region of present-day southern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico from Mexico under the Gadsden Purchase.[9] Tucson served as the capital of the Arizona Territory from 1867 to 1877.[10] Tucson was Arizona's largest city by population during the territorial period and early statehood, until it was surpassed by Phoenix by 1920. Nevertheless, population growth remained strong during the late 20th century. In 2017, Tucson was the first American city to be designated a City of Gastronomy by UNESCO.
THE MOUNT LEMMON HIGHWAY
The Catalina Highway, also called the Mount Lemmon Highway, as well as the Hitchcock Highway (after Frank Harris Hitchcock), runs up the Santa Catalina Mountains from the east side of Tucson up to Summerhaven, at the top of Mt. Lemmon. The beautiful, curving road is a favorite drive for tourists, for locals escaping summer's heat and cyclists, and has been recently designated as the Sky Island Parkway, part of the US National Scenic Byway system.
