ANTALYA TURKEY: Top 10 UNMISSABLE things to see (MUST Watch!!!)
Today I share with you the top 10 things that you must see in Antalya Turkey. This is the best video you will ever see on Antalya Turkey as I show the top must-visit attractions of this city.
Hadrian's Gate can be found in Antalya city, and was made during the Roman Empire to welcome Emperor Hadrian to the city.
The heart of the Old Town is known as Kaleici and you can spend hours here wandering the narrow cobblestoned streets. It is easy to find Kaleici as the starting point is the Saat Kulesi or clock tower. There are many famous tourist sights to visit in the old town including the Seljuk era Yivliminare Cami, the Ethnography Museum and the Dervish Lodge museum. There are also many Ottoman-era houses in Kaleici which have been converted into hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops. Walk down to the base of Kaleici and you will find yourself in the ancient Roman harbour.
Konyaalti beach is located to the west of Antalya and is considered to be the most popular beach in the city. The views surrounding the beach are very enchanting with the majestic Taurus Mountains in the background.
The Antalya Archeology Museum is one of the largest museums in Turkey and exhibits thousands of ancient artefacts that were discovered in this region. The museum is easily accessible by taking the Nostalgic tram to the Müze stop in Konyaalti. Here you can find prehistoric objects, ancient coins, Roman Imperial statues and a mosaics hall. I found the marble statues of emperors and empresses discovered in the ancient city of Perge the most fascinating.
The Roman Harbour, also known as the Marina, is probably the most iconic image of Antalya. Here you can find many boat tour operators, as well as restaurants and cafes.
The Yivli Minaret Mosque, which is also known as the Aladdin Mosque or Grand Mosque was built in 1230 during the reign of Seljuk Sultan Aladdin Kaykubad I. The mosque’s fluted minaret was decorated with blue tiles and is considered to be a symbol of the city.
The Antalya Nostalgic trams run from Lara beach in the east, to Kale Kapisi (the clock tower) in the centre and Konyaalti beach to the west of the city. You can use the Antalya Kart to travel inexpensively across the city.
Perge is 18km to the east of Antalya, and is easily accessible by taking the tram to Aksu, and then a short taxi ride to the city. It is one of the most well preserved ancient cities in Anatolia. Research in the areas shows that Perge has a prehistoric past that possibly dates back to the 5th millennium BC, and the city experienced glorious days during different periods. During Alexander the Great’s capture of the region in 333BC, the people of Perge well Alexander’s forces without any resistance. The last glorious era for the city was in the 5th and 5th century AD during the Roman Empire. Excavations have been conducted since 1946 and many of the impressive statues of emperors that were discovered can be found in the Antalya Archeology Museum.
Dervish Lodge Museum - The Mevlevi Lodge Building located in Kaleiçi, is one of the most popular touristic places of Antalya and belongs to the Seljuk period. Although it does not have an inscription, it is thought to have been built by Sultan Kayqubad I in 1255 and started to be used as a Mevelvi Lodge since the 16th century. The Museum, consists of the Mevlevi Lodge, Bath, and the tombs of Mehmet Bey and Nigar Hatun. It hosted activities like classes about Islamic Philosophy, reading activities about Mesnevi and Divan, seminars, sufi music concerts and whirling ceremonies. Nigar Hatun lying in one of the tombs in the complex was the mother of Sultan Korkut, the son of Beyazid II. The other tomb dated 1377 was built by Mehmet Bey, who was nicknamed ‘Chain Breaker’ because he managed to conquer Antalya by breaking the port chains. The Ney is wind instrument played by Sufi's during the sema and in the video you can view this beautifully being played by @RoyalOttomanSociety
The Lower Duden Falls is probably the most popular tourist attraction in the city. This breathtaking waterfall is located in Duden Park, in the Lara district of Antalya. There are two waterfalls with the same name, the Lower and Upper Duden falls, and they both pour from the Duden River, which is one of the largest rivers in the region.

Kayseri is a large and industrialized city in Central Anatolia, Turkey. It is the seat of Kayseri Province. The city of Kayseri, as defined by the boundaries of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, is structurally composed of five metropolitan districts, the two core districts of Kocasinan and Melikgazi, and since 2004, also Hacılar, İncesu and Talas.
Kayseri is located at the foot of the extinct volcano Mount Erciyes that towers 3916 m over the city. The city is often cited in the first ranks among Turkey's cities that fit the definition of Anatolian Tigers. The city is rich in historical monuments, dating especially from the Seljuk period. While it is generally visited en route to the international tourist attractions of Cappadocia, Kayseri has many visitor's attractions by its own right: Seljuk and Ottoman era monuments in and around the city center, Mount Erciyes as a trekking and alpinism center, Zamantı River as a rafting center, the historic sites of Kültepe, Ağırnas, Talas and Develi, to name a few. Kayseri is served by Erkilet International Airport and is home to Erciyes University.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, as of 2011 the city of Kayseri had a population of 844,656; while Kayseri Province had a population of 1,234,651.
Kayseri received notable public investments in the 1920s and 1930s. Sumer Textile and Kayseri Tayyare Fabrikasi (airplane manufacturer) were set up here during the post Republican Era with the help of German and particularly Russian experts. The latter manufactured the first aircraft made in Turkey in the 1940s. After the 1950s, the city suffered from a decrease in the amount of public investment. It was, however, during the same years that Kayseri businessmen and merchants became transformed into countrywide capitalists. Families such as Sabancı, Has, Dedeman, Hattat, Kurmel, Özyeğin, Karamanlargil and Özilhan who started out as small-scale merchants in the city of Kayseri became prominent actors in the Turkish economy. These families set up their headquarters in cities such as Istanbul and Adana, nevertheless often coming back to Kayseri to invest.
Thanks to the economic liberalization policies introduced in the 1980s, a new wave of merchants and industrialists from Kayseri joined their predecessors. Most of these new industrialists choose Kayseri as base of their operations. As a consequence of better infrastructures, the city achieved a remarkable industrial growth since 2000 and is one of the key cities that characterizes the class of Anatolian Tigers, with a favorable environment present especially for small and medium enterprises.
The pace of growth of the city was so fast that in 2004 the city applied to the Guinness Book of World Records for the most new manufacturing industries started in a single day: 139 factories. Kayseri also has emerged as one of the most successful furniture-making hub in Turkey earned more than a billion dollars in export revenues in 2007.
Kayseri Free Zone established in 1998, today has more than 43 companies with an investment of 140 million dollars. The Zone's main business activities including; production, trading, warehouse management, mounting and demounting, assembly-disassembly, Merchandising, maintenance and repair, engineering workshops, office and workplace rental, packing-repacking, banking and insurance, leasing, labelling and exhiption facilities. Kayseri FTZ with cost of $8 per square meter is one of the lowest cost land free zones in the world.
Some social scientists trace this economic success to a modernist Islamic outlook referred to as Islamic Calvinism which they say is taking root in Kayseri.Wikipedia

Kayseri Turkey | A Tourist Discovering the Past.
So there I am walking through the town of Kayseri Turkey , I see these interesting caves some collapsed some intact, with no signs anywhere, this is a locals only sight not on the tourist radar. I ask the guy atop his roof what they are for and he comes down to chat me. We use google translate and he says they are Roman period caves used for storage. He also mentions an Underground City that has been recently discovered that he would also like to see. He offers me a ride and off we go.
I also get a personal tour through an area my new friend knows and we explore some old abandoned buildings that are just falling apart in the nearby area.

Finding breakfast in Kayseri. Turkey's most boring city? 🇹🇷
So Kayseri is the most boring city in Turkey I was told. Is that true, is Kayseri the most boring city in Turkey? I went out to find a bakery to get some breakfast in Kayseri and to see what this city has to offer.
We were Goreme, the centre of Cappadocia, but only for the weekend, and I knew as it was in the mountains, it wouldn't have fast internet, so we'd need to move out of Goreme, and as we'd just landed from Istanbul, I didn't really want to just straight back onto a plane, so we got a bus to Kayseri, which is about an hour away.
When I told people I was going to Kayseri, they just wondered why, they asked why, they were confused as to why somebody would go on holiday to Kayseri in Turkey, it's not a tourist destination. Well we're not going for tourism, we're going to work for the week, then fly to a tourist destination on the weekend. We just needed somewhere with an airport and a good internet speed so we could work.
If you don't already know, we're working remotely, full time. So we work Monday to Friday, have evenings and weekends off, just like at home, but we're also travelling.
