Константиновский дворец в Стрельне/Konstantinovsky Palace in Strelna
The palace complex in Strelna outside Russia's St. Petersburg dates back to the 18th century. In 1797, Russian Emperor Paul I granted the palace to his second son Konstantin after whom the place was named. The palace belonged to the Russian Imperial Romanov family until 1917. Now, the palace belongs to the Directorate of the Russian President and is part of the National Congress Palace complex. The place regularly hosts international events involving the Russian president. In particular, a G8 summit took place here in 2006 and a G20 summit was held in 2013.

Были в Петербурге в конце июня 2020-го года, когда ещё продолжали действовать многие ограничения по коронавирусу: кафе, музеи и парки были закрыты. Но с погодой повезло, и город был прекрасен, как всегда. /
We visited Russia's second largest city and former capital St. Petersburg in late June 2020, when some coronavirus restrictions were still in place, and all eating facilities, parks and museums were closed. However, the weather was perfect and the city was beautiful, as always.

Ligovo is a historic district in the South-West of St. Petersburg
The name comes from the river League, now the river Dudergofka . In the 18th century, its water was used to power the fountains of the summer garden through the Ligovsky Canal .
The small village of Likhala existed long before the founding of St. Petersburg and was first mentioned in a census book of 1500.
However, in the late 19th century, the village came into its own when a Dacha settlement was developed for well to-do inhabitants of the city. The territory stretching to the railway line was divided by a rectangular grid of streets and lanes...In 1905 the village gained street paving, lighting with kerosine-kheated lamps, deliveries of fresh water, fire safety, installation of telephones, cultural events. By the mid-1910s, virtually all neighbourhoods were built up, not only by summer houses, (dachas) but also cottages for permanent residence.
The ballerina Matilda Kshesinskaya was born in Ligovo , Anna Pavlova lived there in her childhood.....

Peterhof (German Peterhof, Peter's yard) is a palace and park ensemble on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland. It is located on the territory of the municipality of the city of Peterhof (from 1944 to 1997 - Petrodvorets) in the Petrodvortsovy district of St. Petersburg. The name of the Peterhof road comes from it. Part of it is under the jurisdiction of the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve.
Peterhof includes several palace and park ensembles that were formed over two centuries. The Lower Park, the Upper Garden and the English Park are ensembles that developed in the 18th century. Alexandria, Colonistsky Park, Lugovoy Park, Alexandrinsky Park, Sergievka, Private dacha - 19th century ensembles.
For the first time, Peterhof was mentioned in 1705 as a traveling yard and a pier for moving to Kotlin Island. It was one of the many manors (passing lights) built along the road from St. Petersburg along the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland. In 1712, the construction of a suburban imperial residence for Peter I began. In 1714, the Grand Palace was laid.
In 1715, Emperor Peter I decided to create a ceremonial imperial residence that could surpass the famous Versailles. For these purposes, construction began in Strelna. However, for the round-the-clock functioning of the fountains, it was necessary to raise the water to a mark of about 10 meters above sea level, and this would lead to the flooding of the basins of the Strelka and Kikenki rivers, since the surrounding area (south of the Peterhof road) with an area of tens of square kilometers is below this mark. Hydraulic structures capable of solving the problem would have cost Peter the Great too much, but was it worth it when to the west of Strelna there was a landscape ideally created by nature for round-the-clock water supply? The talented engineer and hydraulic engineer B. Minich was able to go against the tsar's will, by engineering calculations to prove the impossibility of arranging water extravaganzas in Strelna and to transfer the construction to Peterhof.
Peterhof, as a palace and park ensemble, was formed during the 18th - early 20th centuries.
Peterhof, together with a number of other monuments of St. Petersburg, forms a single complex UNESCO World Heritage Site.
4 and a half million people visit the Peterhof GMZ annually

6/10 Tourism in St. Petersburg Visit Gatchina palace
Real Russia trip Kizhi Island
The Kizhi Museum-Reserve is one of the largest open-air museums in Russia. This is unique historical, cultural and natural complex was built on an island 5 km long and 800 m wide.
You can get to the island from the city of Petrozavodsk (350 km from St. Petersburg) on a meteor for 1.5 hours on the way.
The pearl of the Kizhi complex is the Preobrazhenskaya Church. A wooden structure, built in 1714 without a single nail, only with the help of an ax and the highest skill of peasant carpenters.

Russia - St Petersburg - Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps 03
The Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps, also known simply as the Artillery Museum, is a state-owned military museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Gatchina, Russia, view from above.
In this video you will see aerial video of us flying over an extravagant Gatchina gardens and Palace. This popular historic tourist attraction is located just outside of St Petersburg. Gatchina Palace was designed by the architect Antonio Renalde and was build 1766-1781 by the order of Katherine II for her favourite Count Grigoriy Orlov. Later this palace became imperial residence of Paul I, Nikolai I, Alexandr II, and Alexandr III. With every owner the palace was somehow altered, whether the architecture or the interior design to keep up with the European stile at that time. During the WWII most of the valuable artefacts were evacuated and hidden. After the nazi occupancy was over the palace was in a very bad shape with most of the palace ruined by fire. After extensive restoration the palace opened its doors to the public as a museum.
