Saint Peter Port is the capital of Guernsey as well as the main port. In Guernésiais and in French, historically the official language of Guernsey, the name of the town and its surrounding parish is St Pierre Port. The port distinguishes this parish from Saint Pierre Du Bois.
As well as being a parish, St. Peter Port is a small town consisting mostly of steep narrow streets and steps on the overlooking slopes. St Peter Port is known that a trading post/town has existed here since before Roman times, the pre-Christian name of which has not survived into the modern era. People from St. Peter Port, were nicknamed les Villais (the townspeople) or cllichards in Guernésiais.
St. Peter Port is located on the east coast of Guernsey. It borders St. Sampson in the north, The Vale in the north-west, St. Andrew in the west and St. Martin in the south. On the seaward side it faces Herm to the east, across the Little Russel, and Sark and Brecqhou even further east across the Big Russel between them and Herm. The Bréhon Tower sits in the Little Russel between St. Peter Port and Herm.
St. Peter Port has an English Isthmian League club, Guernsey F.C. who play at Footes Lane. The Guernsey Rugby Football Club also play at Footes Lane and compete in National League 3 London & SE. Candie Gardens, an award-winning restored Victorian Garden features a statue of Victor Hugo. Cambridge Park is a recreational park that includes a skate park. Jersey officially the Bailiwick of Jersey , is a Crown dependency of the United Kingdom, ruled by the Crown in right of Jersey, off the coast of Normandy, France. Jersey was part of the Duchy of Normandy, whose dukes went on to become kings of England from 1066. After Normandy was lost by the kings of England in the 13th century, and the ducal title surrendered to France, Jersey and the other Channel Islands remained attached to the English crown.
Jersey is a self-governing parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarchy, with its own financial, legal and judicial systems, and the power of self-determination. The Lieutenant Governor on the island is the personal representative of the Queen. British cultural influence on the island can also be seen with the main language being English, British pound currency, driving on the left, BBC and ITV regions, school curriculum following that of England, and the popularity of British sports, including football, cricket and rugby. The bailiwick consists of the island of Jersey, along with surrounding uninhabited islands and rocks collectively named Les Dirouilles, Les Écréhous, Les Minquiers, Les Pierres de Lecq, and other reefs. The island of Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands.
Although the bailiwicks of Jersey and Guernsey are often referred to collectively as the Channel Islands, the Channel Islands are not a constitutional or political unit. Traveling to Jersey Channel Islands was really challenging from Istanbul :) It took totally 13 hours and cost 1.100 USD.
I booked flight from Istanbul to London Stansted Airport by Pegasus airlines , Depart from Sabiha Gokcen Internationally Airport at 07:55 PM and Arrived at 10:00 PM and flight took 4 hours 5 min.
My second flight to Jersey unfortunatelly was another morning and different Airport : London City Airport to Jersey by British Airways, Depart at 07:55 AM , arrived at 09:00 AM flight took 1 hour 5 min.
And I had to travel from London Stansted Airport to London City Airport ; City Airport was closed at night so I had to wait 6 hours till morning, first bus to London City Airport was at 04:00 AM and it took around 40 min. and then had to take DLR to London City Airport at 05:00 AM. It took around 20 min.
Yeah it was totally challeging and exhausting journey :)
Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands , Jersey is a lovely place with full of kind people ! I have visited my best friend for her wedding ceremony. I enjoyed so much beautiful beach and cliff views.

St. Martin's Point Fog Horn, Guernsey
The St. Martin's Point signal station blasting off it's fog horn on a foggy day. If you go down to it when the fog horn is going you will need ear plugs because it is extremely loud. It's position is 4925.30'N 00231.30'W and it is situated at the bottom of the cliff, below Jerbourg car park, in St. Martin's, Guernsey in the Channel Islands and is an aid to navigation at sea.
You can get to it by walking down the cliff path from Jerbourg car park which involves going down about 250 steps or a flatter but longer walk from the path by L'auberge Divette Restaurant.
The fog horn sounds three times every 30 seconds. There is a split white and red light on top of the roof which flashes 3 times every 10 seconds and can be seen up to 14 miles away. If you are at sea and you see the white light you are safe to continue, but if you can see the red light you will soon be hitting rocks.
The post with LP on the top is Longue Pierre rocks, some dangerous rocks which are exposed at low tides and have a very strong tidal flow around them on spring tides.
