Here s an interesting set of photographs taken by the well kopwn Soviet photographer Semyon Friedland (Fridyand).
Stalingrad, now known as Volgograd was completely destroyed during the Great Patriotic War and was the turning point for the Russian armies when they eventually defeated the Nazis 6th Army.
Today, the city has risen from the flames and re-invented itself. I like it very much......
