In this episode we set out via Chinese bullet train (aka 高铁, or gāotiě) and head for Jilin City.
Jilin City is (unsurprisingly) in the province of the same name, Jilin Province. In Mandarin it's written as 吉林.
To be honest, I arrived in Jilin with rather low expectations. Jilin City isn't a place that you often hear people talk about, particularly as a day trip/travel destination. I have to admit, this was one of those times where I turned out to be pleasantly surprised.
One of the best features of Jilin City is that the wide and beautiful Songhua River (松花江) runs right through the city and out in the distance you can see mountains as well.
In this video we take to the streets and see what all Jilin has to offer. Whether it's the majestic Songhua River or the magnificent Jilin Catholic Church, or even the Jilin Meteorite Museum (that holds the world's heaviest meteorite), I think you'll be just as pleasantly surprised as I was!

沈阳彩塔早市 电视塔下的烟火气 小豆馅儿的糯米炸糕 东北特色麻辣串 吃一个能顶一天的老四平熏肉大饼 只用自家果子的煎饼摊儿 驴肉蒸饺 羊肉烧麦 现做的筋饼嘎嘎香 川流的人群让老街充满生生不息的活力
在东北早市上可以感受到这里的人们特有的爽快乐呵劲儿，人们一边做着生意，一边唠着家长里短，油盐酱醋。东北粘食摊的老板娘边做炸糕边直播，聊天的话语中充满人生智慧；擀筋饼的老板放慢一倍速度我的镜头依然跟不上节奏，老板表示小伙儿你还得加把劲儿练练速度；卖茶饼的大哥让我随便拍摄，还把珍藏的茶饼塞进我的视频。
这个早市地处辽宁省电视塔下，早晨是彩塔早市，晚上是彩塔夜市。窄窄的几条路上遍布居民小区，还有一所学校，每天早上这里都人流如织，买早点的，买蔬菜的，买水果的，买鱼买肉的，挤挤挨挨大大小小的摊位上摆满了人们生活所需的琳琅满目的商品。
At the Northeast Morning Market, you can feel the unique joy and joy of the people here. While doing business, they chat about their families and family affairs, oil, salt, sauce and vinegar. The proprietress of a Northeastern sticky food stall is making fried cakes while live streaming, and her chatting words are full of life wisdom; the boss who is rolling the glutinous rice cakes has doubled the speed and my camera still can't keep up with the rhythm. The boss said that you have to work harder, young man. My son practiced speed; the big brother who sells tea cakes allowed me to take pictures as I pleased, and even stuffed his treasured tea cakes into my videos.
This morning market is located under the Liaoning Provincial TV Tower. It is Caita Morning Market in the morning and Caita Night Market in the evening. The narrow roads are dotted with residential areas and a school. Every morning, there are a lot of people here, buying breakfast, vegetables, fruits, fish and meat. They are crowded with large and small stalls. It is filled with a dazzling array of goods that people need in life.

I won a Photography AWARD! [Jilin, China Vlog with DJI Osmo Pocket - This is China #6]
That's right! I won a photography award from the Jilin Snow and Ice Festival and Exhibition, which included a trip to the event and an award certificate. For the trip, I decided to use the DJI Osmo Pocket to Vlog the entire excursion , testing it out for actual vlog and travel use. Let me know what you think about its use in the comments below.

In 2008, the seed was ready to break through, so I packed my things and moved to China. First living in Xianyang, Shaanxi, then for the past 10 years in Dongguan, Guangdong.
I have experienced far Western, Southern, Eastern, Northern, along with a steady dose of central China, traveling mostly by train and bus. I have witnessed the beauty of this country and will stop at nothing to share this with the western world. I will continue to travel this country until I have answered my questions about each Province, Autonomous Region, Special Economic Zone, and area. I hope you enjoy the images and video, while learning something along the way.

Siping is a prefecture-level city in the west of Jilin province, People's Republic of China. Siping is located in the transition between plains and hilly terrain, with hills to the southeast and the Songliao Plain to the northwest.
Hejiahuan Holiday Hotel(Siping Road)
In Shanghai’s Yangpu District, the Hejiahuan Holiday Hotel offers good value accommodation.
Jade Buddha Temple, City God Temple and Jing'an Sports Center are within driving distance of the Hejiahuan Holiday Hotel. People's Square and Nanjing Road can be reached with a 20 minute drive. Customs House, Hongkou Football Stadium and Oriental Pearl Tower are a 10 minute car ride away.

Harbin City Ice Festival - Winter Travel in China
Harbin is a city in Northeastern China with a population of over 5 million people. While it’s a popular travel destination for tourists all year round, things really get busy in Winter. This is the time of Harbin Ice and Snow festival, which usually attracts millions of visitors.
Thousands of workers and artists prepare for many weeks in bitterly cold conditions, before the festival usually opens in early January. Most of the festivities focus around a few designated theme parks, but there are activities all over the city.
I traveled to the Harbin ice festival in January 2019, and spent several days exploring the city and the theme parks. While the day time was already spectacular, the evenings became almost magical when most of the sculptures were lit up with beautiful neon lights. The freezing temperatures seemed challenging, but actually only added to the atmosphere.
