MAP OF KHARTOUM SUDAN
greetings my friends. this is a map of Khartoum. Khartoum is located in the middle of the populated areas in Sudan, at almost the northeast center of the country. Khartoum marks the convergence of the White Nile and the Blue Nile, where they join to form the bottom of the leaning-S shape of the main Nile as it zigzags through northern Sudan into Egypt at Lake Nasser.
Khartoum is relatively flat, at elevation 385 m , as the Nile flows northeast past Omdurman to Shendi, at elevation 364 m about 101 mi away. Khartoum or Khartum is the capital of Sudan. With a population of 5,274,321, its metropolitan area is the largest in Sudan. It is located at the confluence of the White Nile, flowing north from Lake Victoria, and the Blue Nile, flowing west from Lake Tana in Ethiopia. The place where the two Niles meet is known as al-Mogran or al-Muqran. From there, the Nile continues north towards Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea.
Divided by these two parts of the Nile, Khartoum is a tripartite metropolis with an estimated population of over five million people, consisting of Khartoum proper, and linked by bridges to Khartoum North and Omdurman to the west. thats all for now. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. goodbye.
#khartoum #sudan #sudancrisis #mapsolo #cartemap #kartemap #mapamap #mapschool #petamap #mapmind

Sudan National Museum in Khartoum, Sudan
Sudan National Museum in Khartoum, Sudan
The National Museum of Sudan is a double storied building constructed in 1955 and established as a museum in 1971. The building and its surrounding gardens house the largest and most comprehensive Nubian archaeological collection in the world including objects from the Paleolithic through to the Islamic period originating from every site of importance in the Sudan.
In particular it houses collections of these periods of the History of Sudan: Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, Kerma Culture, Kingdom of Egypt and medieval Makuria.
The museum is located on the El Neel (Nile) Avenue in Khartoum in Al-Mugran area near the spot where the White and the Blue Niles meet.
The National Museum holds many treasures of Sudan’s ancient and medieval past. They’re well presented and labelled, and give a good narrative of Sudanese history. Spread out over two floors, the ground floor starts with Sudan’s prehistory and covers the rise of Kerma and Kush in great detail. Kerma is particularly well represented through its famous pottery. The Kushite displays show the wide variety of cultural exchange in play throughout the kingdom. Egyptian culture is the strongest influence, shown particularly in the royal statues found at Jebel Barkal dating from around 690BC and the sarcophagus of Anlamani from his tomb at Nuri about 100 years earlier. A clear Hellenistic influence can be seen in the statue of the so-called ‘Venus of Meroë’ and a blue-glass chalice from Sedeinga, with depictions of gods and bearing a Greek inscription ‘You shall live’. A side room on the ground floor has space for temporary displays, often illustrating current archaeological digs.
The upstairs gallery holds the museum’s most unexpected displays – frescoes from Christian Nubia. Despite lasting for 700 years, Sudan’s early Christian kingdoms are little known to the outside world and repeated Sudanese governments have shown little interest in promoting this aspect of their history. I was as ignorant as most on my first visit, and was astounded to find beautiful frescoes depicting Christ and the Virgin Mary, along with a host of archangels, saints and apostles. The style of the frescoes is distinctly Byzantine, reflecting Nubia’s links with the Roman Empire in the east. Most were painted between the 8th and 14th centuries, and were taken from the cathedral at Faras, now submerged under Lake Nasser. The upstairs galleries can be a little dark, so you may want to take a torch with you in order to see the details in the frescoes.

Naqa Sudan (Camel trip)
Naqa or Naga'a (Arabic: ٱلـنَّـقْـعَـة), ancient city of the Kushitic Kingdom of Meroë, is one of the largest ruined sites in Sudan and was one of the centers of the Kingdom of Meroë, which served as a bridge between the Mediterranean world and Africa. Arriving there during a 10 days camel trip is an unforgettable experience.
The site has two notable temples :
The Temple of Amun, erected in the 1st century AD by King Natakamani, one of Kush’s most prolific monument builders. It follows a traditional Egyptian floor plan of an outer court with a colonnade approaching a hypo style hall containing an inner sanctuary chamber.
The Lion Temple, beautifully preserved classic of Kushite architecture, dedicated to the lion-headed Kushite god Apedemak. The temple is fronted by a massive gateway. To the left and right of the portal are massive carved reliefs of Natakamani and his queen Amanitore in triumphant poses, holding prisoners by the hair. Lions sit at their feet devouring the vanquished.
Close to the Lion Temple, the Roman Kiosk is a showcase for the different influences on Kushite architecture. Its entrance is Egyptian, while the columns and arched windows are Roman in style.
Naqa, with Meroë and Musawwarat es-Sufra, is known as the Island of Meroe, and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011.

Amazing forbidden meat in Sudan 🇸🇩 vA 23
I am now in Atbara, and I go to the city center to do some groceries for my cycling way to Khartoum.
I walk around the market, buying some fruits, then I have some delicious Sudanese meat, but for some unknown reason, the guy cocking the meat does not want me to film his meat. Then I continue my walk through a very colorful market, before going back to where I stay, where I meet some friends from my last minibus journey from Karima to Atbara.

Meroë Pyramids in Sudan - August 2021
August 4, 2021 ** Meroë Pyramids ** Sudan
I had the entire site completely to myself. Meroë was an ancient city on the east bank of the Nile about 6 km north-east of the Kabushiya station near Shendi, Sudan, approximately 200 km north-east of Khartoum.
Near the site is a group of villages called Bagrawiyah (Arabic: البجراوية). This city was the capital of the Kingdom of Kush for several centuries from around 590 BC, until its collapse in the fourth century CE.
The Kushitic Kingdom of Meroë gave its name to the Island of Meroë (the name given under the UNESCO World Heritage Site designation, based on its location near the confluence of the Blue and White Nile Rivers), which was the modern region of Butana, a region bounded by the Nile (from the Atbarah River to Khartoum), the Atbarah and the Blue Nile.
The city of Meroë was on the edge of Butana. There were two other Meroitic cities in Butana: Musawwarat es-Sufra and Naqa. The first of these sites was given the name Meroë by the Persian king, Cambyses, in honor of his sister who was called by that name. The city had originally borne the ancient appellation Saba, named after the country's original founder.
The eponym Saba, or Seba, is named for one of the sons of Cush (see Genesis 10:7). The presence of numerous Meroitic sites within the western Butana region and on the border of Butana proper is significant to the settlement of the core of the developed region. The orientation of these settlements exhibit the exercise of state power over subsistence production.
The Kingdom of Kush which housed the city of Meroë represents one of a series of early states located within the middle Nile. It was of the earliest and most impressive states found on the African continent (along with Ancient Egypt). Looking at the specificity of the surrounding early states within the middle Nile, one's understanding of Meroë in combination with the historical developments of other historic states may be enhanced through looking at the development of power relation characteristics within other Nile Valley states.
The site of the city of Meroë is marked by more than 200 pyramids in three groups, of which many are in ruins. They have the distinctive size and proportions of Nubian pyramids.
