Xuanwu Mountain is located in Lufeng, Shanwei city, Guangdong Province. As an open place for religion worship of both Buddhism and Daoism, Yuanshan Temple in Xuanwu Mountain was first built in the South Song Dynasty and later enlarged in the Ming Dynasty. 汕尾市，通稱海陸豐，位於廣東省東南部，南瀕南海。市境東鄰揭陽市，北臨梅州市、河源市，西界惠州市。位於珠江三角洲與粵東沿海丘陵區的結合部，東距汕頭市160公里，西距深圳市120公里。地勢西北高，東南低，西北方有蓮花山脈，東南為低山丘陵及濱海平原。螺河、黃江等從北向南流入南海，海岸線約455公里，擁有沿海大小島嶼881個。
汕尾之得名，源自海沙灘的沙壟線，而港口墟集處於沙壟線尾部，當地人稱之為「線尾」。因海豐話諧音“線”為“汕”，故稱汕尾。其名稱來源與得名於「沙汕頭砲台」的汕頭無關，常被外界誤認屬於潮汕地區。

漢元鼎六年（前111年），海豐郡隸屬東官郡，轄地包括現汕尾市全境及惠來縣、普寧市、揭西縣的部分地區。隋文帝開皇十一年（591年），東官郡與樑化郡等合置為循州，海豐縣屬循州；唐高祖武德五年（622年），析海豐東部置安陸縣，縣治設在大安屯（今陸豐市大安鎮），轄今之陸豐市、陸河縣及惠來縣、普寧市、揭西縣之一部，唐太宗貞觀元年（627年），又廢安陸縣，並復海豐縣，仍隸屬循州。
元代，汕尾地區屬江西行中書省廣東道惠州路；明代屬廣東布政使司惠州府；清代屬廣東省惠州府；清雍正九年（1731年），析海豐縣東部之石帆、坊廓、吉康三都置陸豐縣。縣治在東海窖（今陸豐東海鎮），海豐、陸豐兩縣同屬惠州府。
中華民國建國後，隸屬廣東省潮循道，民國19年（1930年）起隸屬廣東省第4行政督察區。
中華人民共和國成立後，海豐、陸豐均屬粵東江專員公署管轄；1953年改屬粵東行政公署；1957年隸屬惠陽專員公署；1958年12月劃歸汕頭地區專員公署；1983年9月，又劃歸惠陽地區專署管轄。

Luohe River and Huangjiang River flow into the South China Sea from north to south. The coastline is about 455 kilometers, and there are 881 coastal islands of various sizes.
Shanwei got its name from the sand ridge line of the sea beach, and the port market is at the end of the sand ridge line, which the locals call Line Tail. Because the homophony of Line in Haifeng dialect is Shan, it is called Shanwei. The origin of its name has nothing to do with Shantou, which is named after the Shashantou Fort, and is often mistaken by the outside world as belonging to the Chaoshan area.
In the Neolithic Age 6,000 years ago, our ancestors fished, hunted, and planted here, where they lived and multiplied. The Tribute of Yu mentioned the Nine Provinces, during which Shanwei belonged to the southern border of Yangzhou among the Nine Provinces; the Zhou Li·Xiaguan·Zhifang called it a vassal state; in the Spring and Autumn Period, it belonged to the land of Nanyue; in the Warring States Period, it was called Baiyue; from the Qin Dynasty to the early Han Dynasty, the entire territory of Shanwei belonged to the Nanyue Kingdom, and was the area of Boluo County in Nanhai County during the Qin and Han Dynasties.
In the sixth year of Yuanding of the Han Dynasty (111 BC), Haifeng County was under the jurisdiction of Dongguan County, which included the entire territory of the current Shanwei City and parts of Huilai County, Puning City, and Jiexi County. In the 11th year of Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty (591), Dongguan County and Lianghua County were combined to form Xunzhou, and Haifeng County belonged to Xunzhou; in the 5th year of Emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty (622), Anlu County was set up in the eastern part of Haifeng, and the county seat was set up in Da'antun (now Da'an Town, Lufeng City), which governed Lufeng City, Luhe County, Huilai County, Puning City, and part of Jiexi County. In the first year of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty (627), Anlu County was abolished and Haifeng County was restored, still under the jurisdiction of Xunzhou.

1930年汕頭正式設市，成為中國首批設市的城市之一。汕頭老市區是以小公園為中心，週邊的安平路、國平路等街路呈現類似法國巴黎凱旋門附近以扇形放射狀分佈，加上兩側的「四永一昇平」、四安一鎮邦，東部的舊“鹽埕頭”、北邊的紅亭、南側的“汕頭港”，形成了當時的繁華商業區、居民區。 1933年，汕頭港出入口船舶共4478艘次，噸位6324468噸，佔當年全國沿海港口貨運量的8.76%。 1930年代，汕頭港口吞吐量曾居全國第3位，僅次於上海、廣州，商業之盛居全國第7位，是粵東、閩西南、贛東南的交通樞紐、進出港口和商品集散地。

Together with the Four Yongs and One Shengping, Four Ans and One Zhenbang on both sides, the old Yanchengtou in the east, Hongting in the north, and Shantou Port in the south, it formed a prosperous commercial and residential area at that time. In 1933, a total of 4,478 ships entered and exited Shantou Port, with a tonnage of 6,324,468 tons, accounting for 8.76% of the cargo volume of coastal ports in the country that year. In the 1930s, the throughput of Shantou Port ranked third in the country, second only to Shanghai and Guangzhou, and the prosperity of business ranked seventh in the country. It is a transportation hub, entry and exit port and commodity distribution center in eastern Guangdong, southwestern Fujian, and southeastern Jiangxi.
After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, the Japanese army imposed an economic blockade on mainland China. In October 1938, Guangzhou fell, and Shantou became the last port in South China with external contact. A large number of overseas anti-Japanese materials were transported from Shantou Port to mainland China. In order to cut off China's supply routes, the Japanese invaders raided Shantou in the early morning of June 21, 1939, the Dragon Boat Festival, and the Chaoshan Campaign broke out. At that time, the National Revolutionary Army guarding Chaoshan had only one independent brigade and two security regiments. Although the garrison officers and soldiers fought back under the command of General Wu Qiwei and General Hua Zhenzhong, due to the superior number of Japanese troops, Shantou fell in the afternoon of the same day, starting a 6-year Japanese occupation period. On August 15, 1945, the Japanese army announced an unconditional surrender. On September 28, Xu Jingtang, the chief of Chaoshan and deputy commander-in-chief of the 12th Army of the Seventh War Zone of the Anti-Japanese War, accepted the surrender letter of the Japanese invaders from Naoaki Tomita, chief of staff of the 23rd Army of the Japanese South China Expeditionary Army, and Shantou was recovered.
On October 24, 1949, the Second and Fourth Detachments of the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi Border Column of the Chinese People's Liberation Army defeated the Nationalist Army guarding Shantou, and the urban area of Shantou, Chaoyang County and Chenghai County changed hands. On February 23, 1950, the 41st Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army controlled Nan'ao Island, and the entire territory of Shantou was liberated.

中華人民共和國成立後，海豐、陸豐均屬粵東江專員公署管轄；1953年改屬粵東行政公署；1957年隸屬惠陽專員公署；1958年12月劃歸汕頭地區專員公署；1983年9月，又劃歸惠陽地區專署管轄。

Shanwei City, commonly known as Hailufeng, is located in the southeast of Guangdong Province, bordering the South China Sea to the south. The city borders Jieyang City to the east, Meizhou City and Heyuan City to the north, and Huizhou City to the west. It is located at the junction of the Pearl River Delta and the coastal hilly area of eastern Guangdong, 160 kilometers east of Shantou City and 120 kilometers west of Shenzhen City. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. There are Lianhua Mountains in the northwest and low mountains and hills and coastal plains in the southeast. Luohe River and Huangjiang River flow into the South China Sea from north to south. The coastline is about 455 kilometers, and there are 881 coastal islands of various sizes.
Shanwei got its name from the sand ridge line of the sea beach, and the port market is at the end of the sand ridge line, which the locals call Line Tail. Because the homophony of Line in Haifeng dialect is Shan, it is called Shanwei. The origin of its name has nothing to do with Shantou, which is named after the Shashantou Fort, and is often mistaken by the outside world as belonging to the Chaoshan area.
In the Neolithic Age 6,000 years ago, our ancestors fished, hunted, and planted here, where they lived and multiplied. The Tribute of Yu mentioned the Nine Provinces, during which Shanwei belonged to the southern border of Yangzhou among the Nine Provinces; the Zhou Li·Xiaguan·Zhifang called it a vassal state; in the Spring and Autumn Period, it belonged to the land of Nanyue; in the Warring States Period, it was called Baiyue; from the Qin Dynasty to the early Han Dynasty, the entire territory of Shanwei belonged to the Nanyue Kingdom, and was the area of Boluo County in Nanhai County during the Qin and Han Dynasties.
In the sixth year of Yuanding of the Han Dynasty (111 BC), Haifeng County was under the jurisdiction of Dongguan County, which included the entire territory of the current Shanwei City and parts of Huilai County, Puning City, and Jiexi County. In the 11th year of Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty (591), Dongguan County and Lianghua County were combined to form Xunzhou, and Haifeng County belonged to Xunzhou; in the 5th year of Emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty (622), Anlu County was set up in the eastern part of Haifeng, and the county seat was set up in Da'antun (now Da'an Town, Lufeng City), which governed Lufeng City, Luhe County, Huilai County, Puning City, and part of Jiexi County. In the first year of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty (627), Anlu County was abolished and Haifeng County was restored, still under the jurisdiction of Xunzhou.

汕尾市位於粵東沿海，位於東經114度54分至116度13分24，北緯22度37分40至23度38分35之間。地勢北高南低，南瀕南海的紅海灣和碣石灣；北分別與河源市紫金縣、梅州市五華縣相連；東鄰揭陽市，同惠來縣交界；西靠惠州市，跟惠東縣接壤。 ，南北相距90公里，境內山地、丘陵、台地、平原交錯，地勢北高南低。
境內主要河流有螺河、黃江、烏坎河、赤石河四大水系，總長253公里，流域面積3,613.7平方公里。汕尾海域廣闊，海岸線蜿蜒曲折，港灣眾多，主要有紅海灣和碣石灣，海岸線長達302公里，有島嶼91個，並有大量淺海灘塗。
汕尾水產資源豐富，品種繁多，是廣東省著名的漁場之一。境內魚、蝦、蟹、貝、藻類齊全，漁業生產已有數百年歷史。大量生產的有藍園參（池魚）、海鯰（赤魚）、竹夾魚、鮎魚、大眼鯛（目鰱）、大甲參、石斑等。甲殼類有墨吉對蝦、近緣新對蝦等。貝殼有近江牡蠣（蠔）、翡翠貽貝、藍巖、鮑魚等。藻類有廣東紫菜、鵝掌茶等。
遠海梭子蟹（學名：Portunus pelagicus）為梭子蟹科梭子蟹屬的動物，俗稱市仔（蠘仔）、花腳市仔（花跤蠘仔）、藍花蟹、水蟹等。分佈於日本、塔希提、菲律賓、澳洲、泰國、馬來群島、東非以及中國的東南沿海等地，生活環境為海水，常生活於水深10-30公尺的泥質或沙質海底。其生存的海拔範圍為-30至-10公尺。

Shanwei City is located on the coast of eastern Guangdong, between 114 degrees 54 minutes and 116 degrees 13 minutes 24 east longitude and 22 degrees 37 minutes 40 and 23 degrees 38 minutes 35 north latitude. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south. It borders the Red Sea Bay and Jieshi Bay of the South China Sea in the south; it is connected to Zijin County of Heyuan City and Wuhua County of Meizhou City in the north; it is adjacent to Jieyang City in the east and borders Huilai County; it is adjacent to Huizhou City in the west and borders Huidong County. The land boundary of the whole territory is 132 kilometers from east to west and 90 kilometers from north to south. There are mountains, hills, terraces and plains in the territory, and the terrain is high in the north and low in the south.
The main rivers in the territory are the four major water systems of Luohe River, Huangjiang River, Wukan River and Chishi River, with a total length of 253 kilometers and a basin area of 3613. 7 square kilometers. Shanwei has a vast sea area, a winding coastline, and many harbors, mainly Red Bay and Jieshi Bay. The coastline is 302 kilometers long, with 91 islands and a large number of shallow sea mudflats.
Shanwei is rich in aquatic resources and a wide variety of species. It is one of the famous fishing grounds in Guangdong Province. There are a full range of fish, shrimp, crab, shellfish, and algae in the territory, and fishery production has a history of hundreds of years. Large-scale production includes blue garden ginseng (pond fish), sea catfish (red fish), bamboo clip fish, catfish, bigeye bream (eye silver carp), big armored ginseng, grouper, etc. Crustaceans include black shrimp, close-related new shrimp, etc. Shells include Omi oysters (oysters), green mussels, blue centipedes, abalone, etc. Algae include Guangdong laver, goose palm tea, etc.
The sea-going swimming crab (scientific name: Portunus pelagicus) is an animal of the genus Portunus of the family Portunidae. It is commonly known as the city crab (蠘仔), flower-footed city crab (花跤蠘仔), blue flower crab, and water crab. It is distributed in Japan, Tahiti, the Philippines, Australia, Thailand, the Malay Archipelago, East Africa, and the southeast coast of China. It lives in seawater and often lives in muddy or sandy seabeds at a depth of 10-30 meters. Its living altitude range is -30 to -10 meters.

Shanwei, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, is located on the southeastern coast of Guangdong, on the east bank of the Pearl River Delta, adjacent to Huilai County in Jieyang in the east, Huizhou in the west, Meizhou and Heyuan in the north, and the South China Sea in the south, with a total area of 4,865.05 square kilometers. As of 2021, it has jurisdiction over 1 municipal district, 2 counties and 1 county-level city. By the end of 2121, there were more than 1.4 million compatriots living in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and overseas Chinese.
In the sixth year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (331), Haifeng County was established. In the eleventh year of Emperor Kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (591), it belonged to Xunzhou. Ming and Qing Dynasties, belonged to Huizhou Prefecture. In January 1956, it was under the jurisdiction of Huiyang Special Area; on March 22, 1959, it was placed under the jurisdiction of Shantou Special Area; on December 22, 1983, it was placed under the jurisdiction of Huiyang Area; in 1988, Shanwei City was established. The Shanwei metropolitan area is included in the Shenzhen metropolitan area. In 2021, Shanwei's GDP will be 128.804 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%. At the end of the year, the city's resident population is 2.6869 million.
Shanwei is one of the 13 red revolutionary bases in the country and the birthplace of the first county-level Soviet regime in China. The four counties (cities and districts) in the city are all old revolutionary bases and counties; It is a place where the culture of the prefecture meets, and the local traditional dramas include the Orthography Opera, Xiqin Opera, and Baizi Opera.
