Exploring the Wonders of Shadegan Wetland in iran🇮🇷
Shadegan Wetland is the largest wetland in Iran, which is a combination of Shadgan, Khor Musa and Khormiya wetlands. The area of this wetland is about 400,000 lands, which is fed by rivers and streams, as well as by the tides of the Persian Gulf. This wetland reaches Shadgan and Horal Durq from the north, Bahmanshir river from the south, Darkhoin and Abadan road from the west, and Khor Musa waters from the east. It also flows from the south to the Persian Gulf. This lagoon is one of the areas protected by the environment, which is known as an international wildlife sanctuary. Also, this pond was registered in UNESCO in 1354.Most of the water entering the lagoon is from the side of the Jareh river. After that, the Bahra stream, which comes from the Karun river, flows into the lagoon. Of course, the depth of this wetland is not much and it is only a few meters. This wetland was also known by other names such as Khurdurq, Durq al-Fars, Fallahiyeh, as well as Istalahiyeh, and finally it was renamed to Shadgan. There are a number of villages in its vicinity and two villages are located inside this wetland. Sarakhie village is one of the two villages of this wetland. A local wharf is located next to Sarakhie village and right in the middle of the road from Darkhoin to Shadgan. In this pier, boats take tourists to see the lagoon. Animal husbandry, fishing, bird hunting, reed harvesting and fodder harvesting are the ways of people to use this wetland and spend their lives in this way.
