EN Arona is a nice town at Lake Maggiore and is in front of the Rocca di Angera. On the lakefront, you can see the ruins of the city walls, whose dismantling began in 1800 by Napoleon's edict to use the material to build the Sempione road, which was to connect Milan with Paris.
From the top of that rock in the Parco della Rocca Borromea, where there are the castle ruins, you can have a beautiful view of Lake Maggiore and Arona from above.
IT Arona è una graziosa cittadina sul Lago Maggiore e si trova di fronte alla Rocca di Angera. Sul lungolago si possono vedere i ruderi della cinta muraria il cui smantellamento iniziò nel 1800 per editto napoleonico, per utilizzare il materiale per costruire la strada del Sempione che doveva collegare Milano con Parigi.
Dall'alto di quella roccia nel Parco della Rocca Borromea, dove ci sono i ruderi del castello, si può avere una bellissima vista dall'alto del Lago Maggiore e di Arona.

Mit mediterraner Vegetation und botanischen Gärten liegt der Lago Maggiore eingebettet in einer atemberaubenden Bergwelt. Judith Rakers entdeckt ein Urlaubsparadies, das Wassersport auf dem See und Wandern in der Bergwelt verbindet.
Sehnsuchtsort von Urlaubern und Auswanderern
Auf ihrer Reise trifft sie Einheimische und Auswanderer die das Dolce Vita am Lago Maggiore genießen. Im schweizerischen Ascona mit seiner malerischen Seepromenade trifft sie Segellehrer Tony Meier, der ihr bei der Fahrt über den See das Steuer überlässt. Judith Rakers' nächstes Ziel ist das Campingparadies Cannobio. In zweiter Generation hat eine schweizerisch-deutsche Familie hier ein kleines Campingimperium aufgebaut, das seit Jahrzehnten zahlreiche Stammgäste auf die günstigere italienischen Seite des Sees lockt. Seinen Traum hat sich auch der deutsche Auswanderer Günter Erhart am Lago Maggiore erfüllt: seinen außergewöhnlichen Doppeldeckerbus mit riesigen Panoramafenstern und aufklappbarem Sonnendeck hat er in 20 Jahren Tüftlerarbeit selbst gebaut.
Natur und Kultur um und auf dem See
Bei einer Wanderung durch das wunderschöne Maggiatal mit seinen zahlreichen Kastanienbäumen macht Judith Rast in einem Grotto, einem in den Fels gebauten Restaurant, und lernt dort, wie die für die Region typische Polenta gemacht wird. Außerdem besucht sie in der marmorreichen Gegend die Steinmetzschule von Alex und Almute Neaf. Weiter geht es über Cannero Riviera, dem nördlichsten Punkt Europas, an dem Zitronen angebaut werden, auf die Insel Isola Bella, dem Ziel und Höhepunkt der Reise. Der prunkvolle Palast mit seiner exotischen Gartenanlage ist einer der größten Attraktionen am Lago Maggiore.

Lungo Ticino, Villoresi, Canale Industriale e Naviglio Grande da Sesto Calende a Turbigo
Una bella camminata da Sesto Calende a Turbigo, con il valore aggiunto di essere anche una parziale ricognizione per la discesa in kayak del Ticino.
E' possibile camminare sulla passeggiata del lungofiume di Sesto e poi proseguire sull'alzaia del ticino, ammirare le imponenti opere idrauliche (con l'occhio critico del kayakista, ovviamente) e proseguire lungo i tre canali che si diramano dal Ticino e dal Lago Maggiore: il Villorese, il Canale Industriale (non hanno trovato un nome migliore) e il Naviglio Grande - Naviglio Vecchio.

Isola pescatori, lake Maggiore Italy walking tour
In this video we will take the boat from Stresa, lake Maggiore, to reach the beautiful little island named 'Pescatori' or 'Fishermen'.
We are in the northern Piedmont, on the coasts of lake Maggiore,the second biggest lake in Italy.
Isola pescatori is one of the lake three main islands.You can reach all of them by ferry or by little boats like we'll take in this video.The island population is just 24 people.

Isola dei Pescatori (meaning Fishermen's Island) is an island in Lake Maggiore in northern Italy. As the most northerly of the three principal Borromean Islands it is also known as Isola Superiore is the only one to be inhabited all year round. Unlike Isola Bella and Isola Madre, the island has never belonged to the Borromeo family.
The island is about 375 metres long by 100 metres wide. A narrow street running along its spine is joined by cobbled alleys to the promenade that encircles the island. The promenade is frequently flooded and the houses built against it are constructed to allow for this.
In 1971, the population of the island was 208,but has steadily declined to 25 in 2018. While the traditional occupation of fishing still exists—local restaurants providing a ready market for the fish—tourism has become central to the economic life of the island as its picturesque charms have made Isola dei Pescatori a popular destination, particularly for day-trippers, but also for more extended visits. In addition to the hotels, restaurants and gift-shops, there are boutiques selling craft products, holiday homes, and a small fishing museum in the old elementary school .
The church of San Vittore (Victor the Moor) retains traces of an ancient chapel that was probably constructed for the monks of Scozzòla (an abbey of San Donato di Sesto Calende founded by Liutardo, bishop of Pavia, in the mid ninth century. The church was previously dedicated to S. Gangolfo (Gangulphus), whose veneration is linked with the Abbey of San Donato.
