Spending a Day at Sequim Washington in 2020
Sequim is known for their beautiful lavender fields which generally take place in the spring / summer months of June - July.
Sequim is located along the western bank in the state of Washington.
This was my first time coming to Sequim in the winter months so I wasn't necessarily sure what to expect.
If you're the type of person to enjoy visiting small quiet towns, then Sequim is the right place for you!
What Sequim is primarily known for is their lavender fields as well as their lavender festival which occurs every July. Unfortunately due to the Covid - 19 Pandemic, the lavender festival was cancelled.

However, it doesn't mean that Sequim isn't worth visiting. The city still provides that feelings of a small home-town community. You'll be greeted by locals as well as visitors looking to get away from the big city and enjoy the sights and sounds of a small town.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of the places we visited during our day trip here include:
Salty Girls Seafood:
Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a good place for seafood and beer. Make sure to try their fresh and succulent oysters!
Hurricane Coffee:
A nice quiet place to get your coffee fix. They have a unique set of flavors that fit the town setting. Try out their Dark Raspberry Mocha!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Make sure to check out some of the local shops and boutiques which in order to support the local community!
I didn't get a chance to check out the other stores, but definitely take the time to visit Sequim.
(Note: the timing of this video occurred before dropping back down to phase I and the increased restrictions on traveling. Always follow safety protocols and wear your mask!)

Beautiful Sequim, Washington
Beautiful Sequim, Washington
Known for being tucked away in a rain shadow on the Olympic Peninsula, Sequim is a nature lovers paradise, averaging about 16 inches of rainfall per year. It only takes 2-3 hours to get from Seattle to Sequim. Numerous festivals, including the Lavender Festival, Irrigation Festival and the Sunshine Festival are just a few highlights that draw visitors from all over the world. The proximity to Olympic National Park, easy access to various water activities, hiking, the Dungeness Spit, berry and lavender u-pick farms and seemingly endless other outdoor activities in the area are what keep my family busy throughout the year. I created this video to share some of the beauty I see in this town. I hope you enjoy this video. Please like and subscribe to show your support. Thank you!

Top 10 Reasons to Retire in Sequim WA
These are the Top 10 Reasons to Retire in Sequim WA. Already named one of the best places to live in America and one of the best places to retire in America and written about for many years in retirement magazines and online articles, Sequim WA is a little off the beaten path, which means it's still one of the best kept secrets in America. Located two and one-half hours drive from Seattle, Sequim is on the North Olympic Peninsula in the famous Blue Hole, also known as the Rain Shadow. In nature's amazing Blue Hole, Sequim only gets 16 inches of rain each year, one-third that of Seattle's 45 inches a year.
Sequim could not have been placed in a more ideal location between the grand Olympic Mountains to the south and the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the North. It is one of the most peaceful rural communities in America with one of the lowest of all crime rates, and the friendliest people. The cost of living is low, and the lifestyle cannot be beat anywhere in the world. Recreation abounds everywhere no matter what you like to do. Wild life and old growth trees in the Olympic National Park add to the wonder of living in the Sequim area.

Best Place to see Lavender Fields in Sequim, Washington
Reminiscing about last August in these lavender fields near the eastern coast of Washington. The air buzzed with the busy hum of a hundred honeybees. The wind was cool and salty against my face, offering a nice contrast to the sweet smells of lavender all around. We took some dried lavender back with us and spent the rest of the week drinking lavender lemonade. 💜

Sequim, Washington | 4k Driving Tour | Dashcam
Sequim /ˈskwɪm/ (About this soundlisten) is a city in Clallam County, Washington, United States. It is located along the Dungeness River near the base of the Olympic Mountains. The 2010 census counted a population of 6,606.
Sequim lies within the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains and receives on average less than 16 inches (410 mm) of rain per year – about the same as Los Angeles, California – leading it to give itself the nickname of Sunny Sequim. However, the city is relatively close to some of the wettest temperate rainforests of the contiguous United States. This climate anomaly is sometimes called the Blue Hole of Sequim. Fogs and cool breezes from the Juan de Fuca Strait make Sequim's climate more humid than would be expected from the low average annual precipitation. Some places have surprisingly luxuriant forests dominated by Douglas-fir and western red cedar. Black cottonwood, red alder, bigleaf maple, Pacific madrone, lodgepole pine, and Garry oak can also be large. Historically, much of the area was an open oak-studded prairie supported by somewhat excessively drained gravelly sandy loam soil, though agriculture and development of the Dungeness valley have changed this ecosystem. Most soils under Sequim have been placed in a series that is named after the city. This Sequim series is one of the few Mollisols in western Washington and its high base saturation, a characteristic of the Mollisol order, is attributed to the minimal leaching of bases caused by low annual rainfall.
The city and the surrounding area are particularly known for the commercial cultivation of lavender, supported by the unique climate. It makes Sequim the Lavender Capital of North America, rivaled only in France. The area is also known for its Dungeness crab.
Sequim is pronounced as one syllable, with the e elided: skwim. The name developed from the Klallam language.
10 Reasons Not to Move to Sequim
These 10 Reasons Not to Move to Sequim are the most negative I could think of. Honestly, there are not a lot of gigantic horrible reasons not to live in Sequim, but one or more of these 10 could discourage you if you know you won't have these available in Sequim.
