When visiting Romania, Alba Iulia is a must-see and one of the many hidden gems. Our time here was limited but we were able to drive part of the Transapina (the highest road in Romania), visit the Oasa Monastery, explore the Romanian countryside and visit Rapa Rosie (known as the Grand Canon of Romania), walk around the small town of Sebes and finally Explore the beautiful town Alba Iulia. The citadel of Alba Iulia, one of the last star-shaped citadels in the world, was the highlight of our 2 day's exploration. We wandered through the medieval fortress, discovering the history and charm of this unique old town. We were lucky to witness the changing of the guard, find the Church of St. Mina and The Coronation Cathedral, and even happen upon a truck rally! Join us for our two days in Transylvania that you won't discover anywhere else.

With summer 2023 around the corner I went ahead and filmed fully with my drones the PetrovanSound team building the stage for the Lucian Blaga International Festival in the city of Sebes, Alba, Romania. I filmed all the scenes using my Dji Mini 3 Pro, my Dji Avata, and my Mavic 3 in order to make this vibrant short trailer and edited it using Final Cut Pro X.

The Red Ravine :-
The Red Ravine, or Râpa Rosie, is a breathtaking geological reserve in the southwest of the Secaselor Plateau, near the city of Sebes. Erosion runoff has caused the distinct sharp appearance of the mountainside, and the 800-meter-long wall is almost completely vertical, reaching heights between 50 and 125 meters.

Over the last month in Romania we have felt like we have been on an adventure around the world. This country is truly home to such beautiful and diverse landscapes and wildlife.
We started our journey at Rapa Rosie, a stunning natural wonder that resembles the red rocks of Utah. The colors and formations were simply breathtaking.
We then explored the bears and suspension bridges of Transylvania, which reminded us of our time in Slovenia except on steroids. If you've followed us for a while you would remember that time we went on a bear excursion and didn't even see one until dark
AIr in Romania we saw close to
30 within 48 hours.
Next, up was the Hasmasul Mare peak and the red lake, two incredible natural wonders that looked like they came straight out of the Dolomites. The contrast of the red lake against the surrounding mountains was simply stunning, and the view from the peak was absolutely breathtaking.
Finally, we arrived at the Transfagarasan highway, with its winding roads and incredible mountain top cabin views that could easily be mistaken for the mountain roads and beautiful cabins of Norway. It was truly magnificent!
Overall, Romania is a hidden gem that offers a wide range of landscapes and natural beauty that will take your breath away. We couldn't believe how much it reminded us of other places we've visited, but with a unique Romanian twist.
