Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center & Chalmette Battlefield - Jean Lafitte National Historical Park, LA
Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve has six sites that are scattered across southern Louisiana. We visited two - the Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center in Thibodaux and the Chalmette Battlefield and National Cemetery in Chalmette.
At the Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center, we enjoyed a boat tour of the Lafourche Bayou which included a stop at the E.D. White Historic Site. And at the Chalmette Battlefield Visitor Center, we were treated to a flintlock pistol demonstration.
