Now is certainly not a good time to travel to Yemen, as a devastating war rages since 2014, with no end in sight. But when it was still possible to visit, Yemen - and especially the capital Sanaa (or Sana’a) - was a fascinating destination. The mud-brick architecture of the houses is unique, and it looks as if the houses have just grown from the earth. Sanaa looked like a film set to an „Arabian Nights“ fairytale. I sincerely hope it will be possible to visit once again, and that the Yemeni people may have peace again.
